Hey guys, I'm new here just joined today. Looking to get set up rping as soon as possible! Ive got somewhat of a character in mind, though hes not completely fleshed out yet. I had some quick questions about how the roleplaying works here. Is everything connected in one timeline? Like, are all the threads all occurring at the same point in time, just at different places, and with different characters?

How does one get involved in a thread, once your character is created?

And joining a faction, is there like some kind of application you send to the faction leaders? How do you join a faction?

Hey, welcome to Chaos. As of the moment we're fixing a few bugs, but I think it'll be resolved pretty soon.

To get involved with a thread, people usually go about making a public post, or joining one. Of course you can PM random people and see if they want to be with you in your thread.

Most factions are very large, and you can jump in without anyone giving a second rat monkey's hairy behind. For introductions, however, you can make a thread inside of the faction noticing those of interest of your arrival.

Everything here is the same timeline, yes. I fact, we have a full list of all of our official, major timeline events in the suitably-named "timeline" link, accessible by the holonet tab at the top of the screen.

Most factions are open, but some require permission to join. The process is identical for both, though, so it's not a huge obstacle. On a faction's home page, you'll find a button in the top right of the screen. "Join faction." If the faction's open, you'll join it immediately by clicking that button. If it's a closed faction, your request will be posited to a faction staffer, and you'll probably be added within an hour or so.

So I noticed on my profile that there is a link to create sub accounts known as characters...
Would all my characters, even my first one, be created as sub accounts? Or would my first one be Rp'd under this account?

Also, I want my character to be a jedi, and from what I understand, he would need a master to train him. How do I go about finding someone to train my character? Am I assigned a master upon being accepted to the jedi order?

It's recommended to create a sub account for every character, but for some reason people use their writer accounts.

For Jedi, it's sometimes troublesome to get a master right off the bat, or at all for decent ones. I personally only made bounty hunters, doctors, and mercs because I'm very picky on who trains me.

It's suggested you join a faction with your first character, just to get a feel of the site and make some friends who can help you around. If you do that with a Force user, the faction in question will probably give you a master if you ask for one. If you're playing an independent FU, just post a request for a master in the RP discussion area. No muss, no fuss.

Alternatively you don't have to have a master at all, though that might make your promotion to knight and eventually Master take much longer.
