- Tactical Ability: Years training in the famous Republic Academies of Old have nurtured and created a Admiral whose skill rivals that of the Ancient Jedi Prodigal Knight.
- Charisma: Being a High Admiral, charismatic and skill in public oration is highly prized within the Catharian Navy. This skill itself being a sink of swim type. Causing those with high skill to be superseded by those of higher charisma.
- Hibernation Degeneration Disease: Not all emerged from their pods unscathed or without any adverse affects. Hibernation Degeneration Disease is a chronic progressive disease that eventually saps out from the person affected stamina and lung capacity. The means to a cure to rectify this disease are currently unknown as it comes from Precursor Technology. The disease isn't lethal yet hampers combat effectiveness to a horrendous degree. Keyes is useless in a melee situation and easily over powered by strong assailants.
- Pride and Hubris: Keyes's pride often makes himself the butt of many a joke within the Catharian Armed Forces. However it does make him easy to make fun of or joke about. The pride and hubris is a double edged sword in that it makes him aspire to do his best, while throwing his underlings and direct command chains down the drain.
Prior to his encounter with Xzaien's original small installation on the world of Cathay, Keyes was a Rear Admiral in the Republic Navy during the ancient Mandalorian Wars and served alongside the famous Prodigal Knight during his exploits to destroy the Mandalorian Threat Millennia Ago. During these wars he amassed a large following of Republic Navy Personnel and eventually came to support the Prodigal Knight during his turn to the Dark-Side. Once this Prodigal Knight turned to the light at the behest of a Jedi skilled in Battle Mediation, Keyes served alongside the Prodigal Knight's apprentice. Once the Sith were driven back on their back-foot after the destruction of an Ancient Super-weapon, Keyes defected once again to the Republic and eventually was dishonorably discharged. Followed by his closest friends and fleet stolen from the Sith, Keyes eventually found out about Xzaien's growing power on the world of Cathay. Here he submitted to her rule and eventually came to form the First Catharian Navy and using his funds and political connections to help Xzaien open up Cathay to the greater Galaxy and add to the growing number of Colonists seeking a new life on Cathay mainly Cathar who have been displaced during the Mandalorian Wars and refugees fleeing Sith Orbital Bombardments. During his time as the Commander in Chief of the Catharian Navy, Keyes assisted Xzaien in procuring old surplus ships from either the Republic and the now loosing Sith as well as expanding the demesne of Cathay from one Star System to two. But his work to expand Catharian Hegemony was driven back once Xzaien ordered for Cathay to seclude itself from the rest of the Galaxy, loosing the acquired worlds in the Unknown Regions and only being keeping the Birth World of the Hegemony firmly within Catharian Hands. Keyes followed the Decree of his leader to enter into the Hibernation Pod, Now awoken nearly five thousand years later into a ailing Galaxy, Keyes's goal to secure the Hegemony is even more strained, thanks to a lack of large Capitol Ships and trade arrangements with foreign powers.
