Higher Learning: Outrageous Fortune

She crept along the floors of her room, she was given a place to live with the King of Panatha. She looked around at the massive room, though to her it was probably the grandest thing she had ever seen knowing where she came from. She looked around, it was mostly dark, and light shown through a massive window on the farthest side of the room.

She was drawn to the window, she came out of her cowardice form, and approached the beautiful structure. She climb up and leaned in to look outside. Forest off into the distance, filled her eyes with colors of green. A small smile cut across her face. Then she was taken out of her dreamscape when she heard the sound of people coming.

She ran for the center of the room, as she still felt like a guest in this mighty place. She had her head down, awaiting for the door to open where both parties would come into view.

The door open, and in came the High King of the Pacanth Reach. Like all Epicanthix, he was tall and muscular, absolutely rising over [member="Dinah Winters"] with his six foot nine inches of stature. His face was a mess of scars and desolation, his left eye a hard emerald, while his right seemed completely alien. His hair was a mane of thick, black hair that cascaded down past his shoulders. He wore a simple suit of black leather and a cloak of black was wrapped around his figure. He looked down at the insanely small Dinah, and smiled. "Rise, my dearest daughter, you do not need to bow in this place. You are a Princess here."

To even come remotely to eye level with his adopted daughter, Kaine had to kneel down on his haunches before her. She had proved to be a potential master mentalist, and that is why Kaine had come before her with someone who could help her excel in that area. "Dinah, I want you to meet your sister, [member="Evelynn Zambrano"]"

Behind the imposing frame of Kaine Zambrano stood the fragile form of Evelynn. You might not have noticed the wisp of a woman were it not for the incredible contrast of that blonde hair, the blonde hair of a Dorn. A shock that she hadn't been made to dye it to keep in line with more traditional Zambrano fashion. Black, black and black.

The Silent Sister stared at the girl who she had been presented to, studying the small creature with a curious eye. You might have thought that the mute would have been good with children. Far from it. Evelynn and Nemene took to employing their wicked methods upon bright-eyed youths to break the compassionate hearts of Jedi. No hesitation. No remorse.

Hello, Dinah.

There was no way to prepare the child for her own brand of telepathy, frozen words placing themselves within the girl's mind. Naturally with her words Evelynn offered the girl a polite smile, but it was not one made for children, it was adult, screeching of well-trained pleasantries.

Upon the words of the massive man whom had become her father, she rose to stand up though still in the shyest manner. Her eyes grew large, and the Icy blue shade of them rose to peer upon [member="Darth Vornskr"] as he haunched down to possibly stop to her level. His words brought a little bit of ease to her ears, a sister? She had a lot of experience with other children, and she held on to the fact that this could go bad, or very good, though she hoped for the latter. She longed for others to become close with. She peeked behind her father, and then a woman with blonde hair, possibly lighter than hers, came into her view.

It would turn out they were both equally curious of one another, she slowly came from the comfort of her fathers shadowy figure peering over her, and took a small single step out to get full view of the woman before her. She was certainly too old and mature to care about the fact of bullying and mistreating Dinah, at least those were her thoughts. Her curiosity was even more peeked when welcome she received didn't come from other older sisters mouth, but found its way into her mind; she immediately recognized with her. Telepathy.

H..Hi..[member="Evelynn Zambrano"] ." and without even noticing she had spoke back; with her mind. She was excited at the fact that she had an older sister, but nervous as to how she would receive her. She gripped onto one of her fathers fingers, only one being able to fit into her small hands.

Kaine let Dinah grip one of his fingers for comfort when she came face to face with Evelynn, no doubt the woman's only way of speaking being somewhat unnerving to the small child. However; he was surprised that Dinah replied to Evelynn unknowingly with telepathy. "Your sister Evelynn cannot speak like you and I can, she speaks with her mind. She once could speak like us, but she has transcended past that, and has become strong in her mind. Just as you will, my dear." Kaine scooped the young Dinah up in his arms, and moved to sit down in one of the chairs that had been situated in the room. He let Dinah rest on the thigh of his right leg, and beckoned Evelynn over. "I have no doubt you two will get along like the best of friends, isn't that right, Evelynn?"

Well, that was a surprise.

It wasn't often that you found children already possessing the innate gift of telepathy. A hopeful sign in terms of potential in the Force. Good. Wouldn't want another Slade on their hands, all bark and no bite. No. So far little Dinah seemed to be a polite little creature. Let's hope that Kaine wasn't planning to break that. Who knew what he had planned in that monstrous mind.

There was something else, something that made Evelynn's eyebrow instinctively quirk. The slightest stutter in those words. Did Dinah know what happened to chronic stutterers? Oh me, oh my. They transcended, apparently. She could have laughed.

Even just watching him, be so affectionate towards the girl, picking her up and placing her on his lap, it was beyond hilarious in a macabre kind of way. He beckoned and she came. Crouching down so that the girl on his knee sat taller than her.

The mute offered her very best polite smile, before she moved to take the cherub's hands in her own bony grasp.

The best of friends.

With that she allowed herself to be scooped up, of course there was nothing she could've done to prevent it. He was much bigger than she. So far things were going great, and after meeting her older sister she felt a little more at ease. Her mind, was becoming more comfortable within this huge place. Everything was adjusting and fast, but she hadn't any issue with that. She propped up on her fathers leg, and allowed her hands to food in her lap as she sat there looking upon his frame, and then over to Evelynn. Her face lit up a bit when she heard best of friends, she longed for something like that. It seemed like it would work out rather easily since they were both telepaths.

She would offer up a bright eyes, and approaching smile when her hand was grasped by the woman, her words echoed within her young little mind and they would remind for awhile as it felt good to hear them. Then she looked to her father with a smile that she tried so dear to hold back. She reached out with her other hand and grasped Evelynn's.

With the excitement she had she reached out to speak to her sister, "I promise I won't be a pest. I won't bother you when your busy I swear." and those were her words in response.
