OUT OF CHARACTER INFORMATION
PRODUCTION INFORMATION
  • Manufacturer: Defiance Consolidated Multipurpose Manufacturing
  • Affiliation: Individuals given access to a unit by Onrai.
  • Market Status: Closed-Market
  • Model: HK-type Force User Extermination Droid
  • Modularity: Yes (Torso weapons)
  • Production: Semi-Unique
  • Material: Phrik alloy, ysalamiri flesh, energy crystals, agrinium plate, nutrient gel
TECHNICAL INFORMATION
  • Classification: Third/Fourth-Degree
  • Weight: Heavy
  • Height: Average
  • Movement: Bipedal
  • Armaments: Can wield any man-portable weapon, typically a lightsaber for close combat and a Defiance rad-rifle for ranged combat. Mounted inside the arms are stun tentacles that can be withdrawn and released at will. Beneath the torso plates are retractable grenade launchers that are typically loaded with up to 3 radiation grenades per launcher. The grenade launchers may also be replaced with a pair of semiautomatic ACP Array Guns holding 4 rounds each or gas sprayers spraying either Trion or Trifaraleen gas. The droid's fingers include discharge capacitors, allowing it to simulate the use of Force Lightning. Palm-fitted tractor beam units allow it to push, pull, and lift objects, similar to some telekinetic Force powers. Additionally, both hands have technology derived from the modified Glove of Darth Vader, allowing them to simulate the use of Force Choke.
  • Misc. Equipment: Passive stealth-cracking sensor package from the SVD-97 Surveillance Droid, Droid Capacitor Armor, Xythan Force Shield, arm-mounted tractor beams, in-built firewalls, magnetic boot-locks
  • Resistances:
    • Energy (And other Blaster type weapons): Very High (fits both an energy shield and capacitor armor)
    • Kinetic: Average
    • Lightsabers: Very High (skeleton and base plate is made of phrik)
    • Other: Sonic (Low), Radiation (Very High, is a droid and has agrinium overplate)
SPECIAL FEATURES
  • The Ysalamiri tissue preserved inside the core skeleton of the droid produces a nullifying bubble which prevents the use of Force abilities within a 5m radius of the droid.
  • Through the sensor package derived from the SVD-97, the HK-FU is capable of passive detection of stealthed individuals, including thermal sensors, acoustic sensors, magnetic sensors, optical distortion analysis algorithms, and observation of passive phenomena thermal foot imprints, invisible pressure on objects, etc). It cannot directly detect stealthed individuals by sight alone, and more advanced stealth field generators can prevent thermal, acoustic, and magnetic sensors from serving as passive means of detection.
  • The droid is capable of mimicking the following Force powers through the use of technology: Force Push, Force Pull, Lightsaber Throw, Move Object (on a single target within physical range for each hand), Force Rend (on a single target with the use of both hands), Force Lightning, and Force Choke.
STRENGTHS
  • The HK-FU has a number of traits that make it particularly difficult for Jedi or Sith to defeat. Its core skeleton has ysalamiri tissue, which means the Force can't be used against it. It possesses both capacitor armor and a force shield, meaning blasters, lightsabers, and other energy weapons can't be used against it. In addition to being able to use a variety of weapons, including melee weapons up to and including a lightsaber, the droid possesses in-built weapons designed to harm living beings through area-of-effect attacks that are not effective on it as a non-living being (eg. radiation grenades), as well as the ability to simulate certain Force abilities even in an area where the Force is neutralized. Additionally, while it cannot directly detect a stealthed individual, through passive sensor arrays, the HK-FU is capable of with a reasonable degree of accuracy estimating where a target may be located.
WEAKNESSES
  • The HK-FU, while incapable of being directly attacked with the Force, can be affected through passive means, such as throwing a particularly large and weighty object at it. Additionally, a number of the droid's concealed weapons, while protected by energy shielding, can be damaged beyond functional use, such as the torso weapons and stun tentacles. Particularly, if the agrinium shell is damaged heavily enough and radiation weapons have been used, the ysalamiri tissue will die and the droid will lose its ability to nullify the Force, rendering it vulnerable to Force-based attacks.
  • The HK-FU's passive sensor systems, derived from a less intelligent form of droid with more basic subroutines, can be overwhelmed with sonic or other feedback, impeding its ability to use the sensor array to try and detect the presence of stealthed units.
DESCRIPTION
A frightening amalgamation of technologies inserted into the chassis of what appears to be a standard HK-derivative droid, the HK-FU is an unusual droid designed for a singular purpose: hunt and kill Force users. Why such an unusual being as Onrai would fabricate such a machine remains a mystery, but presupposition suggests the droids were intended to fight with something or several somethings that were dangerous organics capable of using the Force. The artefacts of the HK-FU are as organophagic and anti-Force user as a droid can be, with the ability to nullify the Force in a small radius and utilize potent radiation-based weaponry able to pollute the very landscape around it in a quest for extermination of a given target.

With the intelligence of a third-degree droid brain in a fourth-degree droid chassis, HK-FUs are particularly innovative and creative with their means of killing or harming a given target, choosing direct engagements only when the odds are overwhelmingly in their favor against a given target. When directly unleashed, the droids' unique properties make a Force user who is unaware of their abilities significantly endangered, as an HK-FU has a variety of ways to harm and kill a Force user that are exceedingly atypical. Aside from being effectively immune to the lightsaber of a Jedi or Sith, ysalamiri flesh fed with nutrient gel and infused within the skeletal structure of the droid, inhibits the ability of direct Force powers to harm it - and exotic technologies allow an HK-FU to itself appear to possess some Force abilities of its own, allowing a disguised unit to encourage the presupposition of it being an organic assassin.

Produced in extremely limited quantities, the number of times even a single unit has been deployed can be counted on one hand. Most of the droids remain inactive on Kinoss, with perhaps 1 or maybe 2 active at any given point. A tremendous emergency would be required for most or all of the units to be active at one point in time.
