Durable: The HK Unit has thicker Armour then most droids, allowing it to take multiple hits and minor explosive damage.
Evolving AI: The AI core of an HK was programmed to adapt and learn as a way to complete its mission since many units are sleeper agents for years and cannot be updated regularly.
Protocol Information: The HK comes equip with all standard Protocol systems and programming as to better infiltrate and hide.

Bulky: HK units are Bulky from the extra Armour they have, and while quick and dexterous, they are not nimble and cannot hide very well.
Risk-Taker: Due to the advanced AI given the to HK series, they tend to take more risks then necessary to complete their missions, and many are destroyed due to this feature.
Masochistic Personality: After the CIS started to produce the HK model each were given personality, however due to their original programs they became lovers of close and brutal hand-to hand assassination, and they tend to not make it out of the assassination alive.

The HK series was the first of its kind when it comes to the history of assassination droids, first created by the Czerka Corporation they did not sell well ass the idea of a droid assassin was laughed as, since most droids at the time we either frail and weak or to bulky to really be an assassin, to the Original unit was shelved and forgotten about for centuries. The the Sith Empire invaded, and the HK was discovered by the Sith lords and used with sadistic glee. The HK units made conquest easier by disrupting the chain of command for government by killing officials and kings, and made military resistance worthless with the death of Generals and Admirals. However after the Republic beat back the Sith and order restored, HK units were banned and destroyed on mass. Though not all were lost, and Millennia passed when the Great Galactic War erupted between the Republic, and the Confederacy. The Seperatist found the plans for the ancient HK unit and upgraded and reinitialized them as Protocol/assassination droids. Hk units were equivalent to the BX-Series Commando Droid only their targets were Politicians or Planetary officials instead of Military targets, thus their attempts stuck hard and deep into the Hierarchy of the Republic. After the Great war however many HK droids were re-purposed as bodyguards and many were found becoming assassins for the Underworld networks.
