- Near Inescapable: The HKT-29’s massive firepower and ability to maneuver around difficult obstacles means it is very difficult to escape from for ground targets.

The HKT-29 was designed to function as a gunship for the highly corrupt Glolmark Corporation’s ruthless colonization of the Unknown Regions. It was loosely based on the Clone Wars era HMP Droid Gunship, with the design of its droid deployment racks, and its optional droid brain pilot. However, it also posses a number of unique features, such as its ball joint mounted rapid fire laser cannons and its advanced laser cannons. It is also far more technologically up to date than the HMP Droid Gunship.
The HKT-29 was designed to function alongside other Glolmark Corporation ships, such as the A-64 Space Superiority Starfighter and the Y-148 Light Bomber. When mass slave revolts against the corporation started, the HKT-29 was used in attempts to violently quell the revolts. Many HKT-29s were captured by revolutionary forces, and others were stolen by space pirates taking advantage of the chaos. In the end, the HKT-29s failed to prevent the downfall of the corporation, as the colonized planets secured their freedom one by one.
After the fall of the Glolmark Corporation, highly convincing knock-off versions of HKT-29s were sold by a wide variety of starship manufacturers. Most of these have ended up with law enforcement groups and private security companies.
When the Glolmark Corporation restarted in the Outer Rim under the ownership of
Wendell Mortimer Glolmark
, the corporation began using HKT-29s again. They mostly fulfill the same roles as they did when the corporation was at the height of its power, but Wendell Mortimer Glolmark has some new roles in mind for them as well.
