Excellent Weaponry - Featuring several dozen turbolaser batteries of various size and function, as well as miscellaneous ion cannons and point defence weaponry. The Avenger excels at ship-to-ship combat, being capable of overpowering a handful of frigates at once. It also serves as a perfect tool for coordinated orbital bombardments of celestial bodies, its armament able to vaporize entire buildings.
Spectacular Shielding - Combining concepts from both the Imperial-V and the Admonitor-class, the Avenger's defences are some of the best in the Imperial Starfleet: Xythan force shielding, molecular shielding, standard deflector shielding, an emergency thermal shield, and its armoured hull all work in tandem to protect its passengers from harm.
Imperial Flagship - The Avenger is the flagship of High Chancellor Tanomas Graf and serves as a symbol of both the Confederation's might and that of the empires before it. Loyal Imperials everywhere will know that they're in good hands if the Avenger is present for a battle.
Quick Travel - Outfitted with a Class 0.5 Hyperdrive and a HIMS module, the Avenger is quite capable of traversing the galaxy quickly - and even better at piercing into interdiction fields where it doesn't belong.
Knife Tang - Ironically, on a destroyer that can obliterate smaller warships in seconds; the amount of weaponry able to cover the aft section, where the large ion drives are located, is laughable. A trace amount of laser cannons, as well as the shielding and a handful of launchers, are the only defences present on the exposed stern.
Slow Maneuverability - A trait that has become commonplace in most Imperial vessels; the Avenger lacks manoeuvrability, with a complete about-face taking up valuable time that could be better spent firing. This can allow smaller, nimbler enemy ships to get behind the vessel, where there are barely any weapons.
Pride of the Fleet - Despite popular belief, Imperial Star Destroyers are not immortal. It would be quite a demoralizing sight during a battle to see one of these warships be destroyed, triply so considering it's the Chancellor's flagship itself.
Experimental Technology - The Avenger's retrofits involved the installation of a hypermatter annihilation reactor that generated power and then amplified it tenfold through the use of faceted kyber crystals. One shot piercing the ventral reactor bulge can quickly ruin a star destroyer's day, given the highly unstable nature of the crystals in question.
The Avenger was an Imperial II-class Star Destroyer first commissioned by Lorth Needa to four contractors which included Kuat Drive Yards, Sienar Fleet Systems, Cygnus Spaceworks, and Taim & Bek. After it was delivered to said captain it went on to serve in multiple conflicts as well as the subjugation of 436 individual Outer Rim worlds for the Galactic Empire. During the Galactic Civil War, for a very short period it secretly helped the Rebel Alliance while under the command of Moff Kalast before the ship was captured by Lord Vader and returned to the command of Captain Needa.
A part of Lord Darth Vader's Death Squadron, the Avenger was one of the key ships during the Battle of Hoth, being the only ship able to keep up with the sheer speed of the Rebel-affiliated freighter, the Millennium Falcon. Unfortunately, the Avenger lost track of the Falcon which had latched onto the command tower unbeknownst to the captain, who was killed by Darth Vader due to this failure. The Avenger continued its service within Death Squadron, attempting to hinder the acquisition of the Death Star II plans by Bothan spies but ultimately failing. It then participated in the Battle of Endor which was a disastrous defeat and signaled the end of the Galactic Empire with the death of Emperor Palpatine.
The Avenger was last sighted during Operation Shadow Hand when the ship led the Imperial Fleet at the Battle of Balmorra. This would be its last appearance for around eight hundred years, where it fell in and out of the hands of its owners.
It was recently detected by a scanning station owned by the Imperial Remnant on Alzoc III. The Remnant was currently in the midst of a search for vessels fitting the description of any ship of the Imperator line and managed to detect it in the nearby Silken Asteroid Field. Tanomas Graf, the Grand Admiral of the Remnant Navy, led a fleet of vessels to the field in an attempt to reclaim the Avenger for himself, unknowing of the ship's previous service. It was discovered to be the main base of a pirate band that had infested the asteroid field, which were wiped out by the Remnant.
The Avenger was brought back to shipyards in the Vergesso Asteroid Field and retrofitted with the technology of the current era as well as had its damaged components repaired. The ship was used as the flagship of the grand admiral until the prototype Admonitor-class Star Destroyer neared completion over Kothlis, where it was then posted as part of Kamino's defence fleet for the duration of the now-Empire's lifespan.
Following the collapse of the Galactic Empire and the subsequent schism in the First Order, during which both the Pellaeon and the Invictus were destroyed by incompetent leadership; the Avenger was one of the few capital ships that survived the civil war to rendezvous with Grand Admiral Gromm Cardan. After the Byss Conference led to the creation of the Core Imperial Confederation, the Avenger was once again pushed into service as Tanomas Graf's flagship, the man now favouring a smaller warship to carry his banner rather than easily recognizable dreadnoughts.
After yet another stint of retrofits, at both Kuat itself and Roche, the Avenger is once again a highly-capable vessel, able to rival modern ship-of-the-lines even if it predates the government that owns it by eight centuries. Emperor Palpatine's legacy has not been forgotten by his stalwart followers and, through the Avenger, a piece of his glorious regime lives on.
