BIG Z1776
Baboon with a MAAWS
OUT OF CHARACTER INFORMATION
A successor weapon to the successful but slightly expensive HOB Heavy Repeating Blaster. This weapon is designed for use in the weapons squad of a CRAF infantry platoon, and is designed to be deployed in two two-gun sections with both gunners having additional power cells in their packs and if needed one of the two folded tripods for the weapon. It has the power to dissuade low-flying gunships or fighters from coming too close or being too careless, it can chew up lightly-armored vehicles, and infantry and soft buildings are easily-able to get chewed to pieces by hostile attention from an HOB/F gunner. However, for this weapon to be used to its full effect the gunner needs to hit the dirt, pop out the bipod or drop it onto a deployed tripod and fire controlled bursts, usually working in tandem with another gunner in a technique known as "Talking Guns" so that blaster fire is going downrange at all times. Beyond its heavy stopping power, there is little to distinguish this weapon from other repeating blasters. This weapon is also a popular choice for vehicle mounts for close-range defense or firing at targets that don't need a cannon to eliminate.
