DESCRIPTION: The HoldoModem is a modem specifically designed to keep its users hidden with a 512-bit VPN, so that their location is encrypted and, along with it, their HoloNet usage information. In addition, the HoldoModem is designed so that it can allow HoloNet wifi use for around 50m around the modem, using the 802.11ac wireless protocol, allowing fast throughputs for their users that isn't shared among users. To keep the HoldoModem affordable, it was decided that cap drains and, with those, ion/EMP resistance, would be made available only as an after-market accessory, so plasteel construction was not reinforced either. As with general-public wireless electronics, jamming it will disable its wireless capabilities, rendering it just a hunk of inert material.
