- Ancient History: A large portion of the holocron's archives delve into the times of ancients. It describes the ascend of the Rakatan, the war between them and the Kwa (and the Gree), the ways the Kwa attempted to fight them off and their long-lost weapons of mass destruction. It details the foundations of the Je'daii, the early schism between the Light and Dark. There is mention of the Chatos Academy, Followers of Palawa and other semi-legendary organizations of the Force. All in all, it provides material to fill in the blanks that have been left unattended for centuries if not millennia.
- Disciplines: The various gatekeepers possess knowledge (and sometimes mastery) of various branches within the Force. There are lessons in the philosophy of the Fallanassi, explanations on why the Teepo Knights left the Order centuries ago and otherwise provides insight to walk new paths. This is they key tool of the Lords of Light to teach their students the ways of the Force.
- Astrology: Within lies centuries of astrological data. From shifting hyperlanes to missing planets... the Holocron of Ancients paints a remarkably different Galaxy. There is reflection here, just how much has changed across millennia and how much has remained the same.
- Knowledge: It provides a comprehensive amount of knowledge in one place. Allowing its keepers to learn from the mistakes of the past and forge a new path ahead.
- Gatekeepers: Some say it has as many gatekeepers as it knows words. This allows it to present a vast amount of perspectives for study and introspection.
- Force Null: From Ysalamir to Voidstone, the holocron is not immune to the effects of these entities. It becomes a strange inert cube while in the presence of them.
- Fragile: Relatively so. It isn't made out of phrik. It doesn't have heavy deflector shields. Its size makes it a rather easy target to paint. The Holocron isn't indestructible. Watch where you are walking, please.
- Darkside: It can become corrupted or destroyed by it.
Some say that it had been waiting for them since the beginning of time.
Or at the very least since the Gulag Plague, because how else can it be that nobody had discovered it in all this time? The One Sith's corruption didn't reach it. The annals of time had forgotten about it. But here it was... floating in the air in one of the remaining strongholds of the ancients on Tython.
It was discovered by Sardun during one of his early travels on the world.
Later he'd say that something had been calling to him. Inviting him to find it. Truth or not, the Jedi Master found exactly what he was looking for in this holocron.
A foundation for the creation of a new order.
