"What meetings do I have today?" Brae would ask her assistant Lynette as she settled into her chair, looking up at her assistant expectantly "Not many Ma'am. Although you have an upcoming with a Ms. Vettu'honi'oazi?" Lynette would respond, raising her eyebrows questioningly at her boss. "Yes, the hacker with questionable morals I told you about..." Lynette would scoff a little at her boss before heading to Brae's side and handing her a datapad.

Brae would lean back in her chair and cross her hands in her lap as Lynette leaves a few minutes later. The clock was ticking as she waited at the top of APEX Arch Laboratories in her office. The room would be regal, to say the least, pristine white walls with golden rims around the doorways and walls. Shiny glimmering obsidian is carved into the floors of the hallways instead of a carpet, leading from the entrance directly to her office, passing by three other doors leading to two private rooms of Brae's.

This hallway would lead all the way out to a private landing pad, where Vettu'honi'oazi should be landing, having been picked up by a private shuttle to be taken to the Arch-Laboratories. Brae would wait patiently for her hacker to arrive, they had much to talk about. When Vettu'honi'oazi would arrive, several guards in Reapyr-Class Light Armor would escort her from the shuttle to Brae's office.

@Vettu'honi'oazi

It had been a long time since Vettu had been home, but the recent trip to the outer rim and talks of the Chiss forming their own government did raise her interest, that and wanting a vacation. What came as a surprise was a message from a woman named [member="Brae"], quite a powerful political figure among the Ascendancy, "I wonder what she wants with me? or have they just been reaching out to all Chiss"?

So far though she was getting some nice private service, a personal shuttle to take her to this APEX labs, probably the best service she has ever been offered considering her line of work a grey moral compass. Perhaps the Chiss where just short on hands, their race was rather xenophobic and distant from others, such a culture needed all the work they could get, even a wandering spy for hire.

Touching down the blue skinned woman wandered out of the ship with a sultry style, dressed in a durasuit body suit and equipment belt. "My my this place sure looks fancy, was not expecting a guard greeting, but what can ya do".

Lynette would stride back in as the shuttle was settling down "Your guest has arrived." She would inform Brae and then wait patiently at the door. Brae would quietly finish signing a piece of paperwork, collect her datapad, and then be escorted along with Lynette to the landing pad. Just as [member="Vettu'honi'oazi"] would be stepping out of the ship she would be met with a smiling Brae, a stern and quiet Lynette busy on a datapad standing at Brae's side and apparently listening to a conversation in her earpiece.

"I am Brae'owiawo'theyiri-" she would introduce herself with a stiff and polite bow before motioning to Lynette "This is Lynette Black, a business partner of mine." Lynette would respond much less formally, simply giving a small wave before getting back to her work on her datapad. Brae would take a few steps forward, offering a hand to Vettu'honi'oazi to shake "It is a pleasure to meet you."

Vettu stood in a very casual fashion as [member="Brae"] came closer, herself strict and polite bow, typical, but it had been quiet a while she she had been given such a formal greeting, it was quite a breath of fresh air. "Vettu'Honi'Oazi, but you probably already know that, it is quite interesting to be here I must say, forgot what is was like to get a formal Chiss greeting". The business partner assistant being more casual, something she could get behind, and both woman in question where easy on the eyes too, not a bad greeting indeed.

"It is a pleasure to meet both of you, and to be here, home sure has changed in the last few years, though I have to ask, what was the reasoning for me coming here today, or would you rather we have some social chatting and hang out, wither works for me". The CA did not seem to be up to much at the moment, no war and not a lot of rumors about military or operations, more like the government was just consolidating their strength and not much else.

It made her wonder about why she was brought back, why where her skills needed? Unless the Chiss were indeed up to something, and needed a Spy, or an operative to carrying out certain tasks without calling attention.

"Much has changed indeed, us Chiss are slowly crawling back to our feet." Brae would assure her with a small but pleasant smile as she steps to the side and motions towards the door "There is indeed business to talk about, but come, let us do so in my office away from listening ears." Brae knew all too well that many were cautious of the upcoming Chiss and some may be listening in via all manner of technology, best to go inside.

With that said, Brae would head towards the door and wait patiently for Vettu, her hands folded in her lap. This woman before her certainly wasn't the average Chiss. Most Chiss remained on the old Chiss worlds, kept to the old customs and ideologies. These Chiss could barely smile let alone crack a joke, and few felt it necessary to interact with outside nations or planets. Yet [member="Vettu'honi'oazi"] and Brae had something in common, they both saw the galaxy as a place of opportunity rather than a wilderness of untamed savages... and Brae knew that Vettu could potentially be a friendly face in the Ascendancy in the ocean of emotionlessness and protocol. Hopefully, this would be a good meeting.

Back to its feet? had the Iron Empire really cause that much trouble? An interesting thought to process while the continued the conversation to this private office [member="Brae"] mentioned. "By all means lead the way", she replied in a sultry manner, never losing the smile off her face, slowly following the two Chiss woman back into the main laboratory complex. She was unsure of what the Chiss had in store for her, but it was something different, and Vettu liked different. new challenges, sights and just over all an new experience that could be used in the future.

Walking through the doors and into the corridor she decided to try and make small talk with the business partner Lynette. "You seem like an interesting person, that casual wave is not what I would expect somone in your position, or have you only just come to work here recent". Though Lynette was human people in high positions still carried themselves in a high polite position unless this person was used to casual encounters. After all that was how it worked for her, spending more time and learning from other on how to drop the strict stoic act and be more the casual go with the flow type.

Lynette glances up from her datapad for a second as if scanning [member="Vettu'honi'oazi"] over before giving a shrug "Professionalism is great and all but it's too tiring. I let Brae here keep up the company's appearances." Brae would glance over at her assistant for a second, roll her eyes, and then proceed to lead Vettu down the shiny white halls, along the pitch black line of obsidian, all the way to her office.

Her office is rather spacious, being about 15 feet in each direction with a large window surrounding most of the circular room, showing off the city, with its constant bustle of activity. Brae would take a seat behind the desk, and turn her chair to face one side of the window as she looks out over the city and the highways of flying vehicles and speeders. Lynette would simply stand by the door as if guarding it against unwanted interruptions. "The Iron Empire sought to destroy much of Chiss culture and heritage.. bombing our cities, massacring our people-" she explained in earnest as if having read Vettu's mind "I believe it is far beyond time that the Ascendancy got back on its feet and established itself as the powerful nation it was supposed to be, and we'll need every willing Chiss to step up and carry our flag towards that goal."

She swivels the chair to face Vettu again, placing her hands in her lap as if thinking "Which is why I called you here-" she would then give Vettu a small smile as if to illustrate the fact that Vettu is needed and Brae is trying to get her onboard. "Your life out in the far reaches of the galaxy has been far different than most Chiss... We of House Theyiri are looking for Chiss like yourself who see the galaxy different than most of our kin. We do not wish to comply with galactic culture, but we must know how to interact with it peacefully. And your skills... both on and off the console could prove incredibly helpful for House Theyiri in establishing itself as one of the heads of government, and assisting the Ascendancy in claiming its right in the galaxy."

Vettu gave a small shrug to the human woman, "well I can agree with that, perhaps I should hire someone to act or professional for me so I can keep all casual and willy nilly... ah but I like to be strict and stern". Even if it was just for fun and to see the people squirm under her finger or for 'other' events, but that was better left unsaid for now. For now she would simply follow [member="Brae"] into the office and here her out on... well whatever it was she wanted to talk about, which Vettu had a few idea but was not going to jump to any conclusion just yet.

Once reaching the meeting room office Vettu let out a small whistle, taking a comfortable seat across from Bae, the small smirk on her face never dying down as the other Chiss explained their position. "So from what I a saying you want me as some sort of information person, to help explain things, teach people among your house how to be more flexible and not simply refuse anything outsiders may bring". "Though as the same time tell if another power has our best interests, what their agenda may be and so forth... basically what I already do as my job, unless there is something else you needed from me"?

Brae's lips spread into a smirk as the woman catches on quite quickly "Indeed, I heard of your skills and simply want to give you an avenue to use them, which will make you rich while at the same time help the Ascendancy and House Theyiri." Her eyes would glance out the window again as if contemplating something before turning back to [member="Vettu'honi'oazi"] "There is of course more that you can do other than help members of House Theyiri, unlike the other Chiss houses, House Theyiri accepts non-chiss as well. We are not bound to the senseless superiority of the races like the First Order or the Galactic Empire, simply the superiority of Chiss culture. We would offer any species a part of the spoils and splendor of the Ascendancy, if they only abandon their people and swear their loyalty to us. You can help with this, bring others into the fold of House Theyiri."

She would cross her legs and glance back at Lynette who would be squinting at some statistics on the databoard. Brae would then raise her eyebrows at Vettu as she waits for an answer.

Vettu placed her elbows on the table, chin over the crossed fingers with an even wider smile across her face, "I do like money, that is for sure, but are you certain everyone will be willing to give up their people, ways and values to join the Chiss"? "Your basically asking others to commit cultural suicide, and I know there would be those that would very strongly disagree with that, but I will do what I can, no promises thought". Certainlty there would still be a wide range of people that would like to join the Chiss, the problem was if they where able to follow the rules like [member="Brae"] wanted, but who knew.

"Also one thing I ask, there have been some rumors about the CA allying themselves with the Sith, I wanted to know if that was true, not that I have any problem with the Sith, worked for a few, but others may see that as odd, like selling out to a higher power". Regardless of Bra's answer Vettu was already in agreement, over all working for the Chiss again and having some legitimate backing for once would save her from long night dancing for death stick addicted pirates. Often fun and exciting, but also exhausting.

"Few will join at first... but as the Ascendancy grows and they see the benefits of the Chiss way of life and thinking, they'll flock to us." Brae would assure her with the utmost confidence. She would pause as Lynette would bring over the holopad, Brae would glance it over, and then sign before giving her full attention back to [member="Vettu'honi'oazi"] as Lynette heads off to finish with the paperwork in another room. "All I ask is that you do what you can." she assures her with a small smile.

"We are not selling out to anyone.. the Sith simply see us for the valuable allies that we are and are assisting us back to our feet, we owe them nothing." she explains quietly, before pulling out a wine bottle and two glasses from one of the drawers of the desk. "Do you drink?" she inquires, already guessing the answer as she fills the two glasses, and gently slides one over to Vettu's side of the table. "Expensive Champagne imported from Coruscant." she would inform her, before swirling her glass for a second and then taking a sip, smiling again afterward at the taste.

"Fare enough, again not really a problem for me, just letting you know it may be a challenge... hmmm maybe I will have to train my own squad or something to carrying on if something where to ever happen to me, because I have a feelings this is a long term thing". And seeing that @Bae and others wanted to keep Chiss culture as the top one she doubted it would become common for the rest of her species to attain the same skill set as her. In that case if may be necessary to have a select few Chiss spys and agents to train under Vettu so her skills are passed on.

"I see, I just know that Sith way of thinking differs greatly from what we think, if they where to somehow take control of our space then things could change for the wrose, though that if far off". Along with the fact most Sith Empire self implode on themselves when war Lords and others from inside seek to much of their own power. As long as not Sith Empire was founded near Cilla then the Chiss Ascendancy should remain safe. "Do I drink, is that a quick question? Honey I do more then just drink, but I think yow knew the answer to that already", she replied with a smirk taking the wine glass in hand, holding it in an elegant fashion compare to her usual appearance. "Oh very fancy... hmm the taste is divine, I guess this means we have a deal then".

"It'll be a problem.. most everything we do is difficult. And as for this... 'squad'... we can see how well you do by yourself and then I'll see about getting you some clones to train." She would take a sip of wine before her eyebrows raise and she gives a hmmf and quickly swallows "Forgot to mention, I have access to Kamino cloning labs. Another asset of House Theyiri." she assures [member="Vettu'honi'oazi"] with a smug grin. She was, after all, attempting to impress and persuade her.

"The Sith can be... difficult." she admits with a dismissing wave of her hand "I deal with them only when I need to, and I doubt they would come anywhere near our space." her eyes raise at the mentioning of her other skills before she just gives a sly shrug, leaving her to question what exactly brae knows. "We do indeed have a deal." she quietly assures Vettu, sipping at her wine again,

Lynette would stride back into the room, giving a lazy uninterested wave to Vettu as she hands Brae a datapad. Looking it over, brae would give a content nod, sign something, and hand it back to Lynette who would once again leave the room. "I may also need some of your... information gathering services.. for my own private or corporate needs. I'm sure this won't be a problem?"

"I see wanting to see the fruits of the labor before investing into it, smart move, I'll make sure to please you and your associates [member="Brae"], can I call you Brae"? She was not really expecting to leg leeway with titles even if she was a Chiss, but no harm in trying. "Oh, Kamino? that's the other side of the galaxy, sure must have a special deal to ave access to all that", she replied taking another sip from the expensive drink.

"As for the Sith, they will most likely imploded in themselves before they can reach use, and if the Chiss remain a strong player in the galaxy that will probably stop them from making a new empire on your door steps". One would be stupid to try and start a new government right next to another, especially a well organize and developed one, like the Chiss. "Anyways I look forward to working here, can't wait to get started".

Vettu gave a small wave back to the human woman's m though quickly turning back attention to Brae, "will you be needing those services soon, or later"?

"Not anytime soon.. at least that I can see. Lynette will contact you with any details when I need you for something specific." She explains with a small grin before heaving a sigh and going to stand "We have a few spare apartments here within our headquarters if you need a place of residence." Raising her eyebrows questioningly, Brae would watch for any sort of reaction. She's interested in how this woman works, how she interacts with others... she has read and deduced a lot already, but the more information she can gather, the better off she'll be.

She could see that [member="Vettu'honi'oazi"] had a low opinion of the Sith. That wasn't a shock, most Chiss didn't and even Brae didn't care for them most of the time, too savage and unruely. "As for your statement of Kamino, I have connections within the Galactic Empire and other nations across the galaxy... and yes, you may call me Brae if that is easier for you." She would give another smile, she didn't really like the name Brae, but it worked and was much more efficient than Brae'owiawo'theyiri. So, she would roll with the punches.

"No rush I aint going anywhere", not with the Sith and First Order pillaging the core worlds and her major business hubs, don't want to wind up getting shot down in cross fire. "Oh and a place would be nice to stay, mainly been rolling with pirates, freighter crew and much more on my travels", not always the mot hygienic or tidy places, would be nice to sleep in a bed... alone for ones.

"Oh ties to the Galatic Empire, well what's left of it, word down the chain line says a civil war is going on there, heck could probably take control of the planet if things go really south". As was such in civil wars, never knew who the enemy was, most of the time couldn't hard to fight against for both sides. "Anyways anything else you want to talk about @Brae"?
