Hopeful Future

There had been some communication between Ailred, the new Regent of Galderra, and Ferron Troste, the President of Kuat Drive Yards. It seemed Troste had an interest in the modest company which was Galderra Royal Treasury. From what was supposed to just be the 'government' part of the kingdom of Galderra, obtaining the weapons for their soldiers and protecting their king and treasury, had become something.... a little too heavy for itself. The Government had nearly turned into a living business, handling everything from constructing ships, to the shipyards constructing them, the buildings that hold the employees for those ships and shipyards, and beyond. With the loss of Eddak, it was nearly taken control of by businesses, instead of any political or military management as it was intended for. It was... too much.

Ailred, regrettably and unsure of himself, opened a holonet transmission with KDY; a video call. He would have met in person, but he was still dealing with a few more tasks as Regent and getting ready to hand over the mantle to a new King. "Hello there," Ailred bowed his head as he saw a secretary, "this is Ailred Vruumond, I have an appointment to speak with Mister Troste?" The secretary nodded, "yes, mister Vruumond. Mister Troste has been waiting for you, I'll direct your call now."

Ferron knew about this company, and had investigated it for awhile. It had a lot of manpower. Recently, it had branched out from its little home on a solitary planet; to the stars. Hiring from all over, but it seemed they had a favorable bias to hiring Commenori people. He had an interest in its resources, personnel, and capabilities. He had a plan to have them construct some facilities where he needed them, and then move what useful employees he could into the new facilities, while the others could still find a paying job at home; in Galderra, under their government.

"Mister Troste?" His Secretary chirped up over his commlink, "Mister Vruumond is now available." Ferron sat up straight from his desk after patiently waiting. No doubt Vruumond was getting his nerves together. Ferron understood why he would be unsure of whether to sell the company or not. It was his best friends pride and joy. But he also knew how busy the man had become, and managing a business out of nowhere would be the perfect opportunity to get it into his hands. "Good, transfer them to me, I'm ready." The Secretary agreed, and the connection between Ferron Troste and AIlred Vruumond had been established.

"Hello mister Vruumond, doing well I hope? Your Kingdom still being a work out?"

Once Ailred saw Ferrons face, he respectfully bowed his head in a gentle, slow manner. He greeted him as he did everyone else; graciously. He never saw himself as the man on top.... he was a religious man, and didn't feel superior to anyone. "Greetings, Mister Troste. It is a pleasure to meet you. It's all been a lot to take in, and the stress hasn't helped.... from the Kings passing, I mean. It's been hard for everyone. May I say your continued work with the rebuilding of your company has been impressive. I understand you are looking to purchase Galderra Royal Treasury, correct?"

Ferron nodded lightly a couple times, "please, it wasn't really me. What remained of Kuat Drive Yards was enough to bring it back into the light of the galaxy. I gave it a little push, a little jumpstart, and the employees who found themselves lost knew they didn't want to lose their jobs, and came back to a growing company... right at home. Yes, I am interested in your company. I hope you don't find that insulting. I do plan to help you with your situation." Ferron took a short breath as he prepared to speak, "you will keep most of your people, I won't take them and throw them around and remove them from their home. I would have the company build a few special facilities on locations I have already prepared. Transport other resources and supplies I need until I get formal supply lanes generated. Once that is completed, your people will return to you, which I'm sure you will still find jobs for in your government as necessary. The rest, I will keep employed, moving into the new environment for what I need them for. As for compensation, not only will I pay for the purchase of your company, but fund Galderra for a total of ten years to aid them through their current struggle. I'm not looking to sweep the rug from under your feet, but to replace the flooring for something more stable, and comfortable, to stand on. For everyone."

Ailred sat there, silently, keeping eye contact with Ferron so as not to show disrespect or come off as bored or uninterested. What he offered was serious. The Galderran people needed help, and for them to not lose their jobs would be even more helpful. "I hope you understand, this is a hard decision for me. The King of Galderra was my closest friend. And I do not wish to sully his good name. But the truth is... this is all too much for myself, or the next King of Galderra. The Royal Treasury became something it wasn't supposed to be; a business. It's a lot for one person. Your promised support would go a long way for the people of Galderra, help I do not believe I am capable of, especially when I need to look after my own people. As long as you agree to supporting the people of Galderra, and not stake claim over the structures they have built, I think we have a deal, mister Troste."

Ferron understood where Ailred was coming from. Not in the way of loss, really, but understood the importance of the company to him, and the other details. "You can be rest assured, the shipyards, castle, orbital arrays and all other items the company has built will stay in your capable hands. But the Galderra Defense Initiative projects will also transfer to me? Also, about your personal ship... I understand you haven't used it very much since acquiring it. The 'Valiant,' right? I'm willing to handle any further Galderran construction projects, or rather - support their efforts, with resources, construction ships, and pay your men, if I can also acquire these items."

Ailreds eyes squinted at Ferrons lengthy request, "you sure ask for a lot, mister Troste. But, since the Galderran people want to join the Commenor Systems Alliance, a full galactic military is not necessary for them anymore. I can agree to that. As for my ship, well... it could do better than gathering dust. Just don't... take the ship into combat, would you? Even retrofitted, I do not believe it can handle a fight, as old as it is. It should be more used as a transport, or personal vessel like a luxury liner, even though it was destined a combat ship. I do agree with this transaction."

Ferron smiled with a quick nod. Ailred had agreed to the buyout that Ferron had been betting on for awhile now. Finally, he had a powerful company he could put to some great use. Truly, it was a good day. "Thank you mister Vruumond. I promise I will do my best not to fail you, nor break our contract. It was great doing business with you. And, please, don't hesitate to ask if you need anything. I'll take direct calls, no need to go through my secretary. Have a good day, mister Vruumond."
