Planet: Rakate Prime


It was early in the morning when Mindy found herself frustrated, she had tried so many time over to learn to control her powers but had always failed. She found herself sitting on a hill on the planet of Rakate Prime, with her cellphone in hand. She only knew of one person who could help her at this point, and her name was Alexandra. She hadn't know her for long but she felt it was time to give her a call.
The keys beeped as she dialed the only phone number she had gotten from Alexandra.
She waited in silence as the phone rang. The phone continued to ring, maybe she left her phone at home, maybe it was dead. She couldn't know for sure.

When nobody answered she left a message. "Hi, Alexandra. It's Mindy, I was hoping you could give me a call back. I was looking to learn to control my powers and such. You are the only one who I can think of to help me. Hope to hear from you soon. Mindy."

Mindy stood and began to walk down the hill, she was barefoot, her shoes were in the backpack that she wore. Halfway down the hill a sharp pain ran up her foot, "DANG!" Down the hill something sounded like it had shattered, she hopped she didn't break another lamp or light source.
She pulled her shoes out and slipped them on, then continued down the hill.

Alexandra rubbed her eyes as the comlink sounded and she stared at it as she heard the voice. It was all too interesting this one she had met the past week before. Someone with a volatile reaction to electrical energy, it had been a affinity to the force she had never heard of but it was something that Alexandra wanted to help the woman control while at the same time study. With her feet moving over to the door she began to suit up for the trip to Rakata Prime.

Several hours later:

Alexandra moved through the area and looked for the one she was suppose to meet. "Miss Moonlove? I do hope that you called me about the problem we explained in the past week, and you said something about wanting to learn to control it no?" She moved to stand infront of the woman and offered her hand to her without a single hesitation, having no worry of being harmed by the woman.

"Thank you for coming, it means a lot." She took her hand graciously. "Do you have experience with Electrokinesis?"
She was happy to finally get some training. She was tired of blowing up lightbulbs when she accidentally hurt herself. She used to go through a pack of lightbulbs a day when she was younger. Whenever she got mad, hurt herself, or someone upset her something would pop and shatter from the currents. She had always wished it would stop all together.

"Should we go somewhere open?"

"Yes, i have a few questions in regards to the unique problem that seems to have come in a natural gift. What i can tell you is that you are a oddity, a unique being in this sense that you have had such a problem because most can only master a simplified mastery over what you have described to me so far, most can only limit it to the standard force lightning or ionization. You seem to sacrifice a normal force sensitivity for a... affinity to the energy that is found in such. So while i cant relate to your unique situation i can hopefully help you contain and control it." She moved for the door and started walking for the outside of the settlement, they would need peace and quiet.

"I am willing to answer anything that you think will help me. I am really hoping I can control it. Atleast a little bit would be nice."
She pondered what she said for a moment, "what do you mean by oddity? I am not, well normal?"
She hesitated for a moment, she wasn't sure what she thought of being is weirder compared to societies standards.

"Well you see, the closest thing i can relate what you can do is a ability that takes a massive amount of training and concentration to achieve... your connection to the force is... altered in the way that you have an innate ability to control what is normally considered a power that requires a pure amount of emotion to create. By an oddity i mean you are a new and potentially dangerous example of what the force can allow when it comes to the abilities it bestows on us. What has happened with you challenges everything that is known about the ability so it makes me very interested in what you can do." She crossed her hands behind her and smiled. "Sorry if i sound too much like a scientist, my mind replaces my personality sometimes."

"I take it I am going to have to concentrate a lot more than most to get the same amount of training?" She followed Alexandra out.

"Am I really that dangerous? I have never really hurt anyone except myself. Well nobody that I can think of anyhow. That is how I got all of these scars." She looked at her feet and wondered why she had to turn out so differently. Of only she could be normal.

"No, infact i think you would actually require less concentration than most so to say as it happens naturally for you, this is also in question if your abilities might be limited, but for now lets work on the one that is causing you pain. You arent so much dangerous as you are a volatile mixture that could be harmful to others if things are taught to you differently than what i offer you... do you wish to remove those scars?" She looked at Mindy softly, her smile never leaving her mouth. She didn't like the pain in this ones features.

"Oh, so even after I work on it, it isn't guaranteed that I will have full control?" She didn't like the sound of that but she tried not to get upset over it.
"I, guess this is going to be one heck of a rollercoaster. As for my scars, I want to keep them. They are a part of my past that I do not wish to give up just yet."
She took a deep breath and let it go. She was ready to take a hold of herself and make things work. Never again would she feel like she wasn't in control.

"I cannot make a promise on the level of control, as i said you are a unique surprise of what gifts the force grant us, something that even i don't know if even is possible for someone like me to understand. And ya, as for the comment about it being to be one large ride i can garentee its something that wont come easy but i hope things will end better for you than not."

"Well where shall we start then. I will try my best to do everything you ask of me. I am putting a lot of trust in you." Again she took a couple deep breaths, and began to to tell herself that everything was going to be alright. The smell of the air around them didn't smell pure and clean but it did relax her none the less.

"What we will start with is meditation... here should be fine." They were far from the settlement now, the sounds coming from it having died long ago and now they stood in mostly darkness as Alexandra waved for her to sit down as she herself lowered her body and smiled. "Close your eyes and listen to the wind and world around you, listen to everything natural and remove all those sounds that are created by man made objects."

Mindy sat down with what little grace she had left. She opened herself to the sounds around her and to try and imagine that man made sounds were not there.
"Okay, I think I am sorting gettin it."
Her eyes closed and her ears open, this was very new for her bit she liked it. She felt relaxed and neutral for once.

"Now i want you to take every feeling you've ever had, whether they be good or bad, and erase them from your mind, i want you too feel nothing for a singular moment, and once that is done return those emotions to you but let them in instead of forcing them to return or letting them take control of you. You must feel and be one with your emotions if you can... do not worry if you do not get this to work at first, it took me weeks to perfect such a thing."

Mindy say there silently, hoping this would be easy. She was wrong.
She tried to forget certain memories but it was not working. With trying to force out all of them out she remebered some very tragic ones. Her parents going. Being on her own for the first time and trying to survive. Her emotions started to swirl into a black hole. Without even realizing it she had yet again electrocuted herself.
When she opened her eyes she could smell burnt hair on her arms and a pain running through her spine and legs.

"Did I really just do that!?" She looked over at Alexandra.
"I didn't shock you did I!? Please say no."

Alexandra had been shocked, but the energy had been dissipated away infront of [member="Mindy Moonlove"] as she held it in her hand and studied it all too carefully. Only when Mindy spoke did she close her hand and remove the energy from sight. "I am fine, are you ok?" She knelt down and made sure that Mindy had no harmful injuries as a layer of light enveloped her hand and she placed it on Mindy's forehead, letting the energy flow into her, it would feel calming and peaceful, repairing the damage from the last loss of control. "What brought you to do that, someone's death?" She looked at Mindy, her eyes showing she had felt the very thing she just suggested Mindy might have felt.

When Mondy closed her hand she saw the night neon white scar on her arm. She sighed, "another one for the books."
"I am glad you are okay, as for me I didn't feel anything. I could smell it though."
She was stunned when Alexandra put her hand onto Mindy's forehead and a surge or peace went through her.

"I remebered the last day that I saw my parents, and the day when I realized that I was on my own."
She breathed deeply trying to think good things, then as she did she fell backwards to lay on the ground.
"Are you sure you are okay?"

"I haven't been ok in a decade Mindy, but that is not going to stop me from helping others while my time runs out... lets try again, but this time dont focus on the memory, i know it sounds hard but focus on the good ones while you remove the bad first, then remove the good and leave nothing, i will stop a volatile reaction like the last time, just focus on keeping your mind at work in removing those emotions."

"Alright, I will try again." She closed her eyes and opened her ears again. She could her the breeze and what sounded like wings flapping.
She tried to focus her thoughts on when she felt like she fit in. When she was with her parents, when they would chase her around the living room saying they were tickle monsters. When they tucked her in at night and read her stories. After what felt like hours she felt a weight lift off of her shoulders, she could only remember the good memories, nothing bad remained. She was afraid to let them go but released them her mind. Then all there was blackness. Nothing left to remember or see. Just pure calmness.

"Now, i want you to reach out with your very being and not your body, i want you to see the air and world around you without opening your eyes, all while keeping those emotions and memories gone from your mine, remember that there is no need to worry, i have you grounded from harming yourself." She would have to take this slowly, Mindy would not know how to fully command the innate power anytime soon and she would need to make sure that especially in consideration of how volatile the power was Mindy did not do something that would permanently harm her.
