SPECIAL FEATURES
- Targetting tracking and data feed. Ability to acquire or send information via a Holonet uplink, with standard Packet Firewall and Proxy Server Firewall in case of a cyberattack. Personal and Target vitals, as well as statistical feeds, live broadcasting, and encrypted data transfer. Three Key TDES or 3DES Encryption as standard, most devices are using this these days, tripling the slicers decryption time.
- Site and location information fed directly into the hud, always optional, but useful for mapping known locations. Predictive AI design or formation analysis of unknown locations or terrain.
- Scylla AI Enhanced and ATRS fitted as standard, Scylla is based on the original OS-PDS, making the unit great at coordinating or predicting other angles of fire with other units in the field, setting up ambushes, sniper angles, and crossfire.

Two firewalls exist to protect the system, a Packet Firewall and a Proxy Server Firewall maintained by FFE's droidtechs or a faction's ECCM operatives.
- Wide range of Possible Sensor Spectrums. Lifeform Detector. Infrared, Ultraviolet, Night, Thermal Heat/Cold, Motion Detection, Audio and Visual. Allowing for some Electronic warfare self-protection (EWSP) from the various spectrums for the user to judge anomalies
- Standard ECCM, resistance to senor spoofing, standard signal jamming and sensor hopping. As mentioned motion detection and the users multi-spectrum scanning further assist with identifying real signals from fake ones.
- The Scylla AI is vulnerable to hacking. The slicer needs to beat two firewalls, the second being monitored by FFE's Droidtechs or a faction's ECCM operatives who may interfere in case of an attack. Behavioral Inhibitors will likely be present on the AI, so creativity is the key. Telling the AI to kill a friendly squadmate is very obvious and likely to be blocked for example.
- Expensive and Hard to Repair. This unit is not easy to fix when it's broken. Any squads fitted with this will be more expensive to outfit and require more downtime in the field.
- Power Drain. This unit is power-hungry. These features come at the cost of both space, weight on size in things like suits of armor. Systems fitted with this need to be balanced with other components to draw less power to compensate. Alternatively, additional power cells, or small generators are required adding to the weight of any design.
- Vulnerable to the physical side of ECM, or Electronic countermeasures. Vulnerable to EA electronic attack with anti-radiation weaponry, No hard counter to EP Electronic Protection on false signals generated by physical flares and physical countermeasures. No ES, or Electronic warfare support built in to assist sensors, requiring additional tech or systems for this role. The user can self-scan spectrums as mentioned, that is up to their ability, luck and know-how.
- Doesn't interface with other huds as well as some designs or craft. The Scylla works best interfacing with other Scylla based systems and designs. Basic information like a video or audio feed is easily sent, but complex AI-based coordination is near impossible for the Horus-FCP with none AI linked interfaces.
Horus-FCP, the Horus Fieldops Combat Package was fun to design, fun to test and fun to build. Many a day was spent playing tag the unlucky intern with paintball or stun rounds as the AI tried to predict where they would move next. Of course FFE has millions of hours by now of live combat footage to analyze and use in their designs, but nothing beats shooting guns at cocky young gang members looking to prove how great they are.
Like the Horus-DCP This design is the result of selling a lot of guns for a very long time to a lot of people, of all types. Criminals, to Jedi, to sith, to dead empires. It's all the same to an Arms Dealer, they are the only ones that stay a constant and importantly alive. Death, taxes and Arms Dealers. Something Sere Reene is somewhat ambivalent about, like all things in life.
The Horus-FCP utilizes the Scylla AI slightly differently to the DCP version. While its capabilities for coordinating fire are still useful for things like ambushes and sniping. The fieldops version of the combat package is utilized more for its predictive algorithms. Things like the likely building design or number of rooms given its external structure or intended purpose, the number of security known or predicted at the location. The likely terrain ahead given the previous terrain, ecosystem, and nature of the planet or level of devastation on a battlefield, taking into account known materials to grade their use for cover or firing positions.
Again ECCM standardization is included because, to be honest, most sensors don't even bother defending against even basic ECM. As with the DCP, while it proved too costly to mass-produce an advanced ECCM suite, the system still comes with the basics which are more than most will do. Three key encryption on data transfer called TDES or 3DES is more common these days than one key, simply tripling the time most people spend breaking the encrypted signal codes, a timesink which is down to the skill of the slicer.
Ironically the company were fed up with our attempts to keep getting interviews, and so contacted us. They sent a simple but poignant holo message regarding their thoughts on the end design.
