STRENGTHS

Heavy Armaments - The overall design of the vessel was focused on increasing its armament and strike capabilities, this has resulted in additional weapon systems and armaments being installed throughout the vessel.

Heavy Defenses - Additional defensive measures were introduced into the design to ensure that the vessel was capable of withstanding a prolonged attack. These are known to include redundant deflector shield generators as well as additional armor plating.

Command Ship - Located in the heart of the vessel is a large recessed well that projects information in a holographic form allowing for a more comprehensive understanding of the movements, attacks, defending, feints, etc of the ongoing engagement. This allows a Flag Officer to command a fleet or armada with greater efficiency and ease.

WEAKNESSES

Sluggish - The addition of heavier armor plating along the hull as well as the inclusion of additional weapon systems has resulted in a vessel that is slower to accelerate both at Sublight and Light speeds.

Limited Squadron Support - Further accommodation for weapon and defense systems has reduced the overall capacity of the vessel's hangar, limiting the number of squadrons that it can deploy. This requires that the vessel rely more heavily upon dedicated carriers to provide additional Starfighter support.

Blindspot - The large scythe-like superstructure included in the design has resulted in an unintended creation of a blindspot that can be taken advantage of by skilled pilots. This is due to the targeting systems momentarily locking their weapon and preventing it from firing in the event that a vessel or smaller craft passes behind or in front of the scythe, thus preventing the weapon from accidentally firing upon this structure.

DESCRIPTION

When common ground is not enough to overcome a disagreement, and diplomacy has run its course, the time to bring forth warships has come and the first among them will be the Hosnian-class Star Cruiser. Larger than a standard Star Destroyer though still smaller than other Battlecruisers, it resides within a subcategory of its own that is rarely used, that of the Star Cruiser. The designs of these vessels are focused on armaments and defense, resulting in a large warship that can take as much as it can give in return, though this also comes with its own drawbacks. While the vessel is capable of deploying a small contingent of Starfighters, it still heavily relies upon Fleet Carriers and other transports for additional Starfighter support to overcome enemy squadrons or screen it from bombing runs. The most prominent section of the vessel is a large scythe-like superstructure located at the front of the vessel along the verticle axis line. This structure houses the majority of the vessel's weapon systems, with the lowest section being the location of its hangar bay, and the upper sections housing many of the gunners' stations and command decks. Deep in the heart of the vessel is the primary command deck which consists of a large recessed well set in the floor that is equipped with holographic projectors that relay information to the commanding Flag Officers; this allows the Flag Officers to command the fleet with greater efficiency. The focus on armaments and defenses has provided the vessel with other drawbacks, which can be seen in its lack of maneuverability, as the vessel has difficulty executing maneuvers and often requires distance and time to properly correct its course. With the conflict between the Galactic Alliance and the Mandalorians set to become a blaze that will sweep over the Galaxy, it is clear, now more than ever, that warships are needed to stem the tide and ensure that Peace can once more reign. The Hosnian-class Star Cruiser is poised to serve in this role, to be an implement that will bring peace back to the Galaxy whilst protecting the people of the Galactic Alliance.
