Hot Pursuit

Wasn’t going to take long for the pair to get on the trail of what he was looking for. They were in the Core region, one of the worlds that they hadn’t visited in a long while. Yes, the Jedi pair were back on Thyferra. One of the first beginning of the end worlds for the Galactic Alliance’s final stand but the past few days of pursuit lead the team here. A step ahead of the Roving Line that was commanded by General Starchaser, the target needed to be found, before moving the fleet around. Skirmishing, the Jedi General was leading his fleet to find a target and push them back. But for now, he needed to make sure, before he moved people, that there was a target. It was one thing to be leading men and women who were still supporting the Alliance, and putting them in the same group, but to bring them to bear at someone?

He had to be damned sure he knew where he was going.

Landing the shuttle, one that wasn’t his personal craft, nor his companions, but was definitely carrying a TwinTail for the Blue Angel to launch out of the ship and take the fight to any enemy. But also, as the shuttle was on Starchaser’s Roving Line, it was combat ready, and this one was designed to help reactivate fighters in mid-combat, so in his hands? He could do some damage. But the pair were a few blocks from the starport.

The destruction from the Sith invasion was still apparent, but Coren gave a look over to [member="Cambria Zadira"] that basically said it all. They had to continue on the mission. A vessel flagged by Alliance Intelligence had brought them here. The Guardian and Sentinel were tracking and Starchaser was doing his best to find the pilot of the ship. He knew it was supposedly a listening ship, but the Jedi Master was more interested in catching the pilot than anything. His Roving Line had jumped to a new rendezvous, and he and the Twi’lek were in pursuit. Stepping through the city, his hands were free, but he was ready to grab his side arm under the jacket, but he turned into a Promenade.

Stepping closer to the Twi’lek, he looked around. “What place do you figure has the cheapest drinks?”

Cambria had not been at the Battle of Thyferra with the Galactic Alliance and New Jedi Order when the Sith Empire invaded, then burned the bacta-rich planet to the ground. No, the Jedi Knight had been across the galaxy and was unable to aid in any way. This was the first time the Rutian Twi'lek had been to Thyferra. She regretted never seeing the Inner Rim beautiful lush world before it was destroyed with such abandon by the Sith. Since then the reconstruction efforts using terraforming were beginning to make way and the cities were coming back, but there was still a long ways to go.

The Jedi Ace set the 'smexly ugly' J-1 Shuttle down in a clearing a few klicks outside of Xozhixi, then disembarked with her partner, [member="Coren Starchaser"]. Whenever the Jedi Master called for a volunteer to accompany him on a mission, the Guardian always answered. This time these two Eclipsed Jedi of the Shattered Order were doing recon work for the Alliance's Roving Line. They had followed a thought to be 'listening ship' to the planet and now were looking for its pilot to gain more intel.

Dressed in a two piece outfit with a short-waisted jacket over the top half, Cambria stashed her lightsaber and shoto within the inside pockets so as to not advertise what she was. Slung low on the blue-hued Twi'lek's shapely right hip though was a holstered blaster pistol and sheathed in her left boot was the warrior dagger of her people. Also, a belly jewel adorned the Jedi's tone abdomen that was visible. It was a frivolity not often taken by her, but Cambria's appearance was more of a spacer chick traveling along with her companion so as to fit in better for this mission. One did what they needed to while being stealthy and undercover so to speak.

Gold-speckled hazel eyes gazed up at the sandy brown-haired Sentinel as he moved closer to her person, then a small smile graced Cambria's naturally colored berry lips.

"Why the one with the happy hour sign flashing of course, Master Starchaser... Two for one specials attract pilots. Plus, there seems to be dancing girls too. Hence, two for one," Cam grinned softly, then the Twi'lek Jedi started strolling that way; lightly tattooed twin head-tails swishing behind her while keeping her Force presence to a minimum yet staying vigilant for trouble.

The Alliance had taken its hits and while many supported it, the heroes were getting far and few between. He knew that he had a network to reach out to, but the more serious ones were getting to be involved in other things. Sure, if it came to it, he’d find them in the wars against the darkness, but now? The General of the Alliance in Exile knew that some fights needed to be won, and while the Republic was setting themselves up, and the Silvers were consolidated in their locations, he and his Alliance men and women had to take the hits where they could. It allowed them to operate under the radar, with no central home save the Core Fleet and D’Qar. Thyferra was one of the worlds the Omega Protectorate had supported heavily, and with the FLEETCOM lost here, there was a lot of fighting to be done to reclaim it.

Sith were pushing more and more into the Inner Rim and Core Worlds. “It’s a shame whats been going on. And Sith moving towards the Core are not something I want to see.” He shook his head, before they had stepped off the vessel, as he was loading up with his side arm, and a collapsible rifle. Yeah, he wished he was an N7 in Mass Effect, so of course he’d have similar tech. Plus it helped hide the larger weapons the Alliance were using.

“Made to blend in, huh?” Starchaser would remark as they were proceeding after the prey. Just keeping the conversation light, and hoping to keep Cambria from referring to him as… yeah, Master.

“Captain’ll do.” He winked. “If we need to be formal.” A quick glance around and he nodded, the blue-skinned Twi’lek’s assessment was obviously correct. “Yeah, sadly that’d be where I’d go too. Just gotta keep a feeler out for the Sith. Shouldn’t be too hard to find, especially if they find out we’re Jedi.”

"I concur... It is our duty to keep the fox out of the hen house so to speak otherwise there will be no eggs to feed the people. Therefore, they will starve. We are their only hope. And I for one do enjoy a good egg dish from time to time, don't you?"

The Twi'lek Jedi flashed a small lopsided grin over her shoulder at the Sentinel with that last remark, then the Knight's long strides with a sway of her shapely hips brought Cambria to the entrance of the cantina.

"I always do, Captain," she winked back having gotten the Jedi Master's jest of keeping things on the down low and guard up. Of course... This wasn't Cambria's first rodeo undercover or pursuing bad guys.

So far the blue-skinned Guardian's danger sense hadn't tingled yet, but she knew better that it wouldn't be the case for long.

There was always so much at stake. Coren understood how bad the war had been going, especially for the Alliance and Republic types. Empires were rising and taking the fight to the Core. It was up to the Jedi without borders, without worlds of their own to really defend, to jump in. Stepping up, the pair were moving as part of a larger collective of Jedi gathered by the Corellia. “I really do. And that’s why we need to make sure they’re here for next time.” He laughed.

Part of the reason he enjoyed working with Cambria was that he knew she was good at what she did. She could pursue not just on the battlefield but in the streets as well. The Jedi stepped up to the swaying Twi’lek and winked.

“Seems like a good one.” He was on auto-pilot as he stepped up to the bar, reaching in the Force. A few people were brighter than the rest. He was looking for someone who was hiding.

There had to be one.
