Hotel California

Zeraen Lassiter

Yes, I am not a Force user. Shocking right?
One million credits. It was an insane sum of money, more than most people see in their entire lifetime, at least all at once. It was enough money to get your own luxury starship, or a nice house on a decent planet, or just like a swimming pool of really fine Corellian whiskey. Honestly, Zeraen had no idea what he'd do with that much cash but he could figure that out once he got the cash. All he had to do was collect a single bounty and he'd have enough money to solve all his problems and pay someone else to tell him what to do with it.

Of course, actually getting said money wouldn't be easy.

The Consulate was one of the most expensive hotels on all of Naboo, located in the city of Theed. Actually staying there for a night would put a dent in anyone's wallet even a newly made millionaire's. Fortunately, Zerean didn't have to stay there, if he did he'd be broke. However, the bounty didn't share this monetary concern though and was apparently staying in the penthouse suite. The penthouse suite of The Consulate. No wonder someone had to put a million on this guys head, any less and he could probably just put up a counter bounty for more.

Zeraen had managed to get himself hired on temporarily as a server, like most upper crust places they hired organic servers for that personal touch. The rich liked to know that they could boss around sapient beings thanks to their money and not just droids that had to listen and obey. Either way, it was foolproof. All he had to do was get up to the penthouse, take out any guards, grab the target and get out. There was no way this could all go horribly wrong right?

It wasn't like there were currently at least six other hunters in the hotel, all sent the same contract he'd been sent, all starting their own plot to get the target. That would be ridiculous! It'd be utter chaos, the entire hotel might get destroyed, and the target might not even die.... Of course, if that happened it'd make cleaning up and not paying out real easy for whoever put out the hit...

Toony was never one to back down on credits. He absolutely loved the feeling of new money, (of course he spent it just as quickly) but to him it was the thought that counted. Although with one million...Toony could do some real damage with that. One could argue that even that sum would take Toony a bit longer to blow through. Nevertheless, the thieving sith almost had a seizure when the employer reached out to him about this acquired bounty. He wanted it and he wanted it bad.

It took no time for the master and his slave to travel to Naboo, the sith blubbering about how lucky he was to have someone like Beatal to do his dirty work. Of course. Toony wasn't going to get his own hands dirty when given access to Consulate, he had socializing and snooting to do instead. He'd informed his slave of the case, who she was targeting and where they were located...the penthouse. great.

How was she supposed to get up there? Lord knows it was rather difficult for her to blend in let alone sneak up to the top of the hotel...So there she was. Base floor, tricked into wearing an evening gown (Toony said she had to at least try and look like your everyday casino-goer) and a prop-like drink held in her hand. It didn't matter how many other hunters were out there, Beatal had to figure out how to get up there - and fast. Toony didn't like to be kept waiting.

Rell honestly had no idea how he had gotten here. Catching a ride with a rich space drifter was optimal, as the majority of people tracking him would not expect it. His large bounty, which he had acquired after a recent job in which he killed a spice lord, was criminally huge. He had to have at least 20 bounty hunters after him, and he felt like the majority of them wouldn't expect him to be in some high profile rich guy's penthouse. Whoever did though (which was most likely the high profile bounty hunters) would have to go through him to acquire the the one mil on his head.

This penthouse was the nicest place Rell had ever been. Rell had always been poor, and even when he came across a medial amount of money, it still wasn't enough to get into a place like this. There was food everywhere, four bathrooms, and it was filled with a bunch of luxuries. At the moment, a party was inhabiting it in which many people were getting overly intoxicated and performing dangerous actions, sleeping together and and beating on each-other. Rell was allowed to stay in this place because of all of his interesting stories that he could share. He was never much of the partying type.

Coming onto the top floor of The Consolute Zeraen approaches the penthouse, surprised to hear the throbbing sound of music coming from it. This guy had a million credit bounty on his head and he threw a party? That was either a brilliant move on his part, a ploy to try and get bounty hunters to not attack for fear of reprisal from the local authorities. Or the guy was really dumb since a party would attract a lot of attention and might make things even worse. Zaraen didn't know and didn't really care, approaching the door he frowns, his initial plan had been to knock on the door and claim to have been sent up by management to offer some free liquor to the honored guest. He imagined the liquor would still go over well with a party crowd but would they even hear him if he knocked on the door?

This all turned out to be a moot point as three things happened at once.

Inside the penthouse, the window explodes as an airship opens fire upon the crowd. Fortunately, they weren't using live ammo instead sending out rapid stun rounds from a mounted turret. Still, this wasn't the best thing that could happen to a party crowd. The next thing to occur was the floor beneath the main dancefloor suddenly explodes upwards sending a few unfortunate souls flying in every direction. A group of Trandoshan's scurrying up through the newly made hole. The final thing to occur was the room started to fill up with smoke as something slips out of the air vents and starts chucking out smoke grenades. Three separate attacks performed by three separate bounty hunters all at the same time had just started.

Zaraen listens to the cacophony from inside and his expression begins to fall. It sound like all kinds of hell was breaking loose within.

Meanwhile down in the lobby where Beatal was standing things are getting interesting. A young couple charged into the room both of them armed with heavy repeating blaster rifles. After hosing down the area to get everyone's attention they demand the keys to the penthouse suite, there was as they put it. "A payday that will finally let us settle down together and live happily for the rest of our lives. And if any of you karking idiots get in our way we will riddle you with holes!"
