It's one of life's mysteries, sir...
The ANV Cadence was stationary at the Galactic Alliances outermost borders, the flagship of the 3rd Expeditionary Carrier Line was still providing its crew with provisions and was a formidable shelter during their stay out here. A force to be reckoned with for any threat that might arise in the system they were currently responsible for.
Kathryn was liking it our here, away from the big politics and close to the men and women she commanded and occasionally also fought alongside with. She probably had the most flight hours of any colonel in The Alliance, and she was proud of it. Proud of not being a desk rat just watching other people risk their lives for their cause. She had always felt kind of out of place from when Liedran Kathause had promoted her to colonel, ultimately limiting the amount of time she got in the cockpit. At least to Navy protocol. Liedran was an amazing woman and superior that granted her more freedom than many other commodores would do.
Kathryn struggled somewhat with the hyrdospanner in the service hatch under the belly of the T-77 Talon Stealth Interceptor, wearing a black tank top and her olive green flighsuit tied around her waist.
There was a bunch of new pilots and crew along with this mission, many of them having served in other squadrons and at bases across Alliance space, and they also had a couple of fresh recruits with them. A good mix that could learn from one another. Both good and bad stuff, Kathryn knew from her own experience.
