OUT OF CHARACTER INFORMATION

 • Intent: Create a fairly basic monster to show Sith's abilites

 • Canon: N/A

GENERAL INFORMATION

 • Name: Elline simply dubbed her first abomination the "Houndmaus"

 • Designation: Non-Sentient

 • Homeworld:

 • Language: N/A

 • Average Lifespan: Elline's studies into this first monster generally had it assumed they can live for around five years before dying. Though such a natural death is...unlikely...for the creature.

 • Estimated Population: Currently Semi-Unique, only three specimens currently exist. But if given the chance they could rapidly grow in size, this is all depends on clearance from the higher ups within the Sith Empire, of course.

 • Description:
The most distinct trait of the Houndmaus is how awful they are to look at, they are just a project to show abilities so it is quite fitting. They are seemingly paranoid and scuttling things, though the size of a small hound they act in a particularly rat like fashion and possess many rat-like traits, such as a hairless tail. Riddled with minor defects each of these creatures easily show as a mere tst of abilities rather than a proper creation of life.
PHYSICAL INFORMATION

 • Breathes: Type-1 Atmosphere

 • Average height of adults: 0.737 Meters

 • Average length of adults: 1.067 Meters

 • Skin color: Dark pink

 • Hair color: Orange-Brown to Black in coloration

 • Distinctions: Just how Elline bred her first of many monsters is quite apparent: gene-mixing. When one looks at a Houndmaus it is impossible to not to see the mixture of the humble (and disgusting) rat with the vicious Corellian slice-hound. Taking a hound like body with rat-like appendages and head and covered in razor-sharp hairs like a Slice-Hound to slash apart foes as it wrestles with them to launch the killing blow with it's two massive front (and rat-like) teeth.
With this also comes a hairless tail, for the monsters take much closer to rats than that of the Corellian Slice Hounds that give them their predatory nature over the weak and pathetic rats many would usually associate the word with. Indeed even in attitude can they be like those disgusting vermin, feasting on just about anything they can get their hands on and (at least designed to) infest locations. They take after Slice-Hounds too, as anything smaller than them in potential prey, and they will savagely hunt it to feast the tormenting hunger that was implanted into them in their creature.

Many of the beasts are given cloaks over their mangled and scarred heads, for the process of their unnatural creation does leave them rather deformed compared to the rest of the body (in many cases, at least). The dimorphism of the lab-bred species is extremely hard to notice except when looking at genital and the females are just barely smaller

 • Races: N/A

 • Strengths:

 • While not seeming it as first, the many hairs of the "Houndmaus" are in-fact razor sharp. A similar trait to the Corellian Slice Hound it is bred from. This makes the monsters rather dangerous to get in a brawl with, as they can continued to slice and hack even when not biting.

 • They are relatively fearless monsters, filling up Elline's intent at making them cannon-fodder

 • Extremely fast breeding

 • Quite agile and able to slid into just about anywhere, not unlike a rat

 • Weaknesses:

 • Very hard to control when too hungry, gladly will turn on their master's if so.

 • Defense is practically non-existent for these creatures and their durability is pathetic

 • Their fast breeding can be a curse when combined with their rowdy nature when hungry

 • Very fast metabolism, they need to eat quite bit to not try and devour everything in site
CULTURE

 • Diet: In essence bred for war...eventually...Elline made sure her first creatures bred under the Sith Empire purely consumed meat. They are carnivores to the extreme and seemingly will eat any sort of meat tossed to them, rancid or other.

 • Communication: The creatures have some mixture of rat-like squeaking combined with the savage bark of a Corellian Slice Hound, these sounds are used to single to other members of it's species about potential prey items.

 • Technology level: N/A

 • Religion/Beliefs: N/A

 • General behavior: Immensely predatory, if it's smaller than them a Houndmaus will actively go and kill it. Thankfully the three originals are of the same size so they didn't murder each-other immediately. The small pack seems to have a loose but competitive teamwork in their vast hungering for meat. There has yet to be another litter of the beasts, but Elline generally has presumptions on how her monsters would rear children: brutal survival of the fittest, letting them grow to a size to hunt before sending them out to learn how to survive. Many likely to be cannibalized by their parents or other members of the species.
HISTORICAL INFORMATION

Throughout Elline’s life, she always held a deep seated interest in the Arkanian art of creating life, from the Arkanian Offshoots they were so infamous for, to the rapidly change evolution of dozens of species. All of it absorbed into the young geniuses brain and giving her great swathes of ideas and inspirations. The “Houndmaus” was not one of these things.

During Elline’s time in poverty and being a drug-producerer on Nar Shadda she became all too familiar with the rats that infested just about every building there. In the underlevels at least, disgusting creatures that had evolved to subside on just about everything and actually thrive in that overcrowded hellscape. It was an interesting bit and Elline’s interest in biology had her kill and dissect many of these creatures while her “boss” partied away and wasted all the profit she had given him. There was a potential in rats, with that she couldn’t deny. And while sitting and rotting away at her station within her measly apartment with the Dark Side poking at the back of her mind, she thought, and thought and thought away on a vile creature to seek vengeance on the Duros Crime Lord that practically owned her. Sweet vengeance.

Coming from all this thinking was the basic idea of the “Houndmaus”, a vicious mutated monster that would kill without much thought and reek fear and havoc in those she hated. It was a mere fantasy, until she joined with the Stih and the Sith Empire of course. Now she had a full lab at her disposal and a need to prove herself to these new and dastardly folk, show that she was actually worth it, that she would mean something. What better than the Houndmaus? It was a simple enough creation that would require semi-minimal effort...not counting the Silce Hound DNA.

Well, Elline had assumed it would be fairly simple. It proved a fair bit more difficult than she originally intended, including just the general rage she felt over the new machines she was working with, not quite the Adasca Corps machines she was used to. Working away just to simply calibrate her machinery to her liking, modifying it even was a more enraging task. It took far longer than she wanted just to prepare her lab into her own private cave of eventual monstrosities. Getting a plethora of Rat DNA was simple enough, though sorting for the finest specimens was a particularly annoying task. The whole project could be summarized by that word: annoying.

Slice Hound DNA was half an adventure within itself, Elline had left the now comfortable safe-haven that Bastion had come to represent for her for instead embracing some of the wider Galaxy again. With the whole chaos surrounding Corellia she looked outwards for Slice Hounds, a bland but adventurous enough trip back to Hutt Space followed as she went to the world of Ilos Minor, pursuing through collections of animals for the right stock to be used for her Houndmaus project. What resulted was much of Elline’s pocket credits being spent on temperamental Corellian Slice Hounds to be sliced up and used for her abomination.

The rest could be scrubbed as “history”, a painful history of pricking and slicing herself on the razor barbs of the failed first few specimens before they died from their horrible deformities. Having to deal with the mental anguish of dealing with those failures but she was a persistent Arkanian, sitting away in her lab in utter isolation as she bred the three successful mutants out of the dozen planned. Two males and on female for a potential infestation of the creatures to grow if the Empire so decided to make her little pet project into a proper biological weapon.

The first of many abominations planned.

I like these little guys. They make me happy. What a great little Sithspawn project.

Two things: can you link to the image source (the wiki page) rather than just the .JPG address? And can you tweak the semi-unique stuff to fit the rapid breeding?

Well, there's no harm in 'currently semi-unique (detail detail detail), likely scattered in the future (detail detail detail).' Sound about right?

They're Skaven from Warhammer, right? Originally linked from the WH Wiki page? Just link to the Wiki page that uses the picture.
