STRENGTHS
- Immovable Object: The Gallinule comes equipped with an impressive suite of defensive features in order to keep it in the fight. Most notable of its myriad attachments are the potent light top mounted missile launcher which is able to be deployed or retracted. The substantially strong Ultrachrome B armour plating to protect the ship from low energy fire making it exceedingly potent against many high rate of fire weapons. The Dual Titanium frame of the ships interior to strengthen it against solid impacts. However, it's the cycling CROSS Shield systems which steal the show.
- Powerful Shields: The Twin CROSS 2.0 Shield systems mounted at the base of each of the ships wings project a one way shield completely around the Ship breaking only for the ships thrusters. The ten layered barrier deflects impacts by detonating one of its many surfaces when it comes into contact with something of high enough energy or force to damage its containment field such as other vehicle class weapons. This outward counter-force provides massive protection against high impact fire from single shots. Finally, should one shield drop or deplete, the ships secondary shield will activate automatically using the early-bird system.
- Reliable: Despite the tendency for modern technology to be rather fickle when it comes to its inner systems, many of the systems within the Gallinule have sub shielding to hold them in place, meaning that many internal fires or other issues have a tendency to not cascade through the remainder of the ship. These Ships are made to be reliable, they will keep chugging along after hits, through storms, under water or as little more than a skeleton if they have to.
- Hammer of Aquila: The weapons load-out of this ship is hardly shabby, coming stock standard with two plasma rail-guns as well as repeating heavy blasters and a six round missile turret which is capable of firing several different kinds of ammunition from chaff to thermal detonator or even disruptor bomb rounds..
- Staying Power: The Gallinule comes equipped with a port for its own dedicated repair droid, allowing it to quickly refresh downed shields or perform minor repairs during combat. The droid has access to the interior of the ship through a small lane-way which flows under the cockpit, too small for astromechs or most others.
- Slow and Steady: Though it is a star when it comes to its toughness, the Gallinule would not be winning any races, comparable in speed to some heavy bomber craft such as the Y wing or tie bomber.
- Wide Arc: As well as its deficit in speed, due to its weight the force of the momentum the Gallinule builds up as it moves is often greater than the thrust its maneuvering thrusters are capable of putting out in a single blast. Generally requiting the ship to slow down significantly for quick or abrupt turns least it trail a potentially painfully wide arc.
- Match Game: Although it takes some organization, with this ship's shields being excellent at defending against powerful singular blasts and its hull geared towards more low caliber rapid fire damage. Low power high rate of fire ship weapons will deplete the Gallinules shields quickly, and high power explosives are rather effective against its hull.
- Composite Lasers: A composite laser is unfortunately the beautiful marriage between a beam with an infinite firing rate as well as being exceedingly high powered. Such weapons are capable of chewing through the shield and armour plating of these ships as if it were its weight in plasteel.
- Expensive: A fair sum of credits goes into the building of one of these high performance fighters, almost double that of a standard x wing due to its parts and armaments. The ships are highly valuable, mass losses could cripple small businesses outright.
The high performance fighter craft, the HA-14 Gallinule is a marvel of science, using the technology House Aquila Developed for its high performance tanks and taking it to the air, they created a fighter made to hold the line better than most. Though while its hull armour is well made, the shining star of this defensive ships arsenal is its dual redundant shield batteries. Able to activate the moment before one of them drops while the other recharges or is repaired, these powerful twin CROSS shields have their own dedicated power unit for repair and recharge separate from the ships' core power allowing for fast recharge times in order to recover before the second shield goes down.
Though when it comes to offense the new creation of House Aquila is hardly a slouch, coming stock standard with a twin linked CV-65 Harpy cannons integrated into its nozzle as well as the devastatingly powerful HC120 Buzzard plasma rail-guns, the Gallinule is capable of engaging both hard and soft targets with reckless abandon as well as create thermal or ionic chaff as a hazard towards unshielded craft. Finally with the employ of the Thoth missile system, integrated primarily for defense against other missiles or smaller ships it can be loaded with offensive ammunition for lethal volleys with relative ease.
