Ancient History
The story of House Corek, at the time just Clan Corek, begins somewhere between the Nakat Incursions in the 5130's BBY and the Conquest of Fenel in 4024 BBY. Clan Corek would go on to distinguish themselves in the rest of the Mandalorian Crusades and the Great Sith War. During the period between the Great Sith War and the Mandalorian Wars the clan was shunted aside on various occasions and becoming disillusioned with what they saw as mismanagement that led to the Mandalorians defeat at Onderon. It was with these perceived slights and maladies in mind that when the Mandalorian Wars started Clan Corek did not heed the call of Mand'alor the Ultimate. This action resulted in the Clan Corek being declared dar'manda, a status that they would hold for millennia until modern history. Knowing that this would inevitably be result Clan Corek had already made plans to flee from Mandalore and when their dar'manda status came down they did just that, evacuating their holdings on the world with a few ships and everything they could stuff inside said ships.
The small armada roamed hyperlanes for a few weeks, intent on finding a planet that would take them. They finally found this planet in the Outer Rim world of Saleucami. Settling in a remote area that many inhabitants had considered uninhabitable the Mandalorians thrived in this harsh environment, it reminding them of their holdings back on Mandalore. It took a little over two years but the clan finally stabilized and began to rebuild themselves.
Around this time the rumors of a rogue Mandalorian clan on Saleucami came to be known to the Republic. In an effort to better understand and combat the growing threat of the Mandalorians the Republic dispatched envoys to ascertain whether or not Clan Corek would help them. Surprising the envoys Clan Corek agreed to help with advising and training Republic military officers on how to better fight against their former Mandalorian brothers.
It didn't take long for these advisors to start accompanying their trainees into combat and with their in depth knowledge of Mandalorian tactics and more advanced training these select units became well known for their effectiveness. Once the Mandalorian Wars ended many expected the clan to slink back into exile on Saleucami but they surprised the Republic by offering to stay on as trainers to increase the effectiveness of the Republic military in case the Mandalorians rose again.
Due to these highly trained units and their leaders the initial battles of the Jedi Civil War were not as disastrous as they could have been though they were still disastrous. Many in Clan Corek were hesitant on which side they should take, many feeling more loyal to Revan having served under him in the Mandalorian Wars while many of them felt that they owed their allegiance to the Republic as a whole rather than one man. In the end the Republic loyalists won out and Clan Corek threw themselves in with the Republic.
Clan Corek would serve the Republic faithfully for millennia, serving in noted conflicts such as the Great Galactic War, Cold War and New Sith Wars. With the Ruusan Reformation and the slimming down of the Republic military House Corek returned most of their own forces to Saleucami, acting as the planets defense force. Over the years Clan Corek would grow and grow, taking in clans from the now fractured Mandalorians. As they grew in size they decided that being simply a clan would no longer fit them and they instead reorganized all the clans under them into one house, House Corek.
Modern History
House Corek has recently emerged further onto the galactic stage because of the son of the current Alor, Noah Corek. Serving almost a decade and a half in the Galactic Republic Army, their 3rd Special Forces Regiment, he would go on to leave the Republic and sign on to fight with the Omega Pyre private military corporation. He spent another decade with the Pyre before leaving to bounce around for the next decade between branches of the Galactic Alliance military.
He had gone into somewhat of a retirement before he was contacted by envoys from the New Republic and offered the job of head of the Special Operations Command. It was in the New Republic that he would meet his first wife, Alexandra Feanor and unbeknownst to him this relationship would lead House Corek back into the fold of Mandalore. It wouldn't take long for Noah and Alex to fall in love but before they married Alex insisted he met her lover Yasha Cadera .
This meeting between the two Mandalorians would spark a relationship that would end up with a few results. The most immediate was the reintegration of House Corek into the wider United Clans of Mandalore and gifting of the lands that had once been their's back to them. These actions gained the respect and admiration of House Corek and they would swear their loyalty to Mand'alor the Infernal. Along with this Noah was also bestowed the rank of Battlemaster.
One member of House Corek in particular would be extremely loyal to the Mandalore. Finding himself in love with not only Alex but Yasha as well Noah feared the worst but in the end all would turn out well. In the end Yasha, Alex and Noah would end up happily married to each other, with Alena extending the offer of taking Clan Cadera into the fold as one of the clans under House Corek as well as offering the Cadera Alor, Ambrose, a spot on the Alor council.
When the Sith came to Mandalore many members of House Corek were ready to fight for their reclaimed home but were instead surprised when the Infernal ordered them to retreat to Wayland to protect her, Alex and Noah's children. Despite reservations Alena and her son led House Corek to Wayland where they waited until the end of the battle with baited breath. When the worst came to pass they wasted no time, knowing the Sith would come for them on Wayland they evacuated once again to their more defensible fort on Saleucami.
Recently with the rise of the Mandalorian Union the house has raised their heads above their figurative cover and offered their support to the new Mandalore.
