- Coins made of Trade Metals, useful for conducting off the books transactions, especially in sectors of space where standard Galactic Credits are not accepted
- Backed by the Aurodium Standard
- Extremely Difficult to Counterfeit due to hidden barcode symbol on back of coins that is unique to each coin minted, as well as the fact it is difficult to counterfeit the metals being used with the final safety measure of miniscule amounts of harmless Isotopes implanted in the coins for scanners to detect
- Aurodium Standard: House Io Currency always goes by the Aurodium Standard to safeguard against inflation as much as possible. If a given coin depreciates or raises in value, it's usually by two to three credits for or against. Lower value coins may suffer, but higher value coins will often retain their value, making them natural hedges against inflation
- No Faking: Extremely difficult to counterfeit, mainly based on the fact House Currency uses rare metals as the basis for all coinage, special, hidden barcodes unique to each coin and easily checked, and the presence of a few harmless isotope sample in very miniscule amounts embedded in the coin for scanners
- Off the Books: Highly useful for conducting transactions off the books for every citizen, especially outside House Territory, and in areas where standard credits are not accepted
- Weight: The weight of the coins as opposed to standard galactic currency means one can only carry so many on one's person, and they also must strategize what amounts of which that they take with them...lower denominations still have uses
- No Electronic Transaction: Carrying physical currency complete negates the chance of payment via Electronic measures unless conducting a face to face currency exchange with a trusted official
- Popularity Contest: While most outer rim, underworld, and fringe organizations will be happy to conduct trades, coreward businesses may be more hesitant, given that the source is considered an enemy of the state to multiple major factions, and being found carrying it may bring the attention of dangerous enemies...this any forward businesses that do accept will have to conduct transactions in strictest secrecy, lest they be discovered and the House loses a valuable trading partner
House Io's standard currency for conducting most transactions with both each other and outside parties, All Coins are made of rare or otherwise valuable metals backed by their worth in Aurodium, and even the lowest value coin is often worth more than a single credit.
