House of Glass (PM for Invite)

Alyesa Praxon.

Simple enough name right?

Well, it came with a consequence.

It was no longer a double-barreled name as it once was many generations before. Although the family was still attached by blood and through relatives, somewhere in the line the message got mixed and when it came to Alyesa's name, she never got it. Her cousin, was Jessimae Kayle Organa-Vorn and her other cousin was Leiandra Organa-Qel. How that came to be, was a simple story, one to which her father had explained to her long ago when she left Alderaan for Naboo.

"If you leave, you may no longer carry the House Name." He had said in a scruffy voice. She could remember him as if he were standing there infront of her right now, a well-mannered man but very weathered. Somehow he had attracted the heart of a young Organa woman named Fayre and wooed her into a marriage despite his unknown backgrounds. Of course, much like any powerful House on Alderaan, an in-depth research had to be conducted into the background of the roguish man to ensure there was some royalty or nobility. Maybe it was to keep the waters clear and be able to signify that one house was more powerful than the other. Again, another squabble for another time.

It was discovered that he came from the House of Naberrie, the very same House in which Padme Amidala Skywalker originated from, so many years before. A woman of great legend in the Halls of the Senate. A woman of fire and passion as she spoke of people and their needs, a woman who put her people before herself. Alyesa could remember constantly hearing of the amazing news that her mother discovered shortly before she and her father had married. She remembered hearing her mother speak of her father like he was the greatest thing next to Jawa Juice or even the Ion Engine.

She remembered.

Why was she remembering now?

Cause he was gone.

She couldn't believe it when the news had arrived to her and she had been summoned by the House of Organa back to Alderaan. A summon of courtesy more so than demand. Apparently there were political issues to discuss, something about ruling Council and control of the House. She didn't quite get why she had any involvement, she believed her father had pushed her back from the House, but apparently that wasn't the case...there was more to it than met the eye.

Event: Arrival and Unpacking...

"How is life?" Her mother said in a soft tone as Alyesa unpacked her small bag.

"It's fine, Manaan is a nice place." She replied softly, pulling free a few items, walking over to her dresser and placing them on them next to a holo-photo of her and her father. She sighed heavily as she picked it up and stared at it for a moment. "Although, it's not home." She said before placing the photo back on the dresser.

"Well, you're back here now. And that is where you will stay..." The elder Praxon-Organa said abruptly, causing Alyesa to turn and raise an eyebrow.

"I'm sorry?" She said confused, approaching her mother slowly. Fayre kept her head low, nodding solmenly as she confirmed what she had said again by repeating it. "I said, you'll be staying here now." The elder Praxon-Organa repeated herself.

"I have a duty to the Republic, I cannot simply abandon the people of Mana-" Alyesa said before Fayre cut her off. "Your duty is here, I have spoken with the Supreme Chancellor and your replacement is already in place. There are other matters to which the House Council would like to speak to you on...and that is final." The elder woman said nothing further and left Alyesa in her room, a blank expression on her face. How can the House of Organa have that much power in such a place like the Republic? Pulled from her position on a whim? There had to be more than that. Also, confined to Alderaan to what? Be trained as a prancing little Princess like some of her friends have turned into?

Oh to the Gods no...

Event: Wake up and get food....

Alyesa stirred in her bed, trying to wrack her brain about what transpired a few hours prior. Where did all this come about? Why? Was it something her father had willed? It wasn't as if she left on bad terms, she just left. She never neglected the duties of the House, but she never accepted them either. She willingly served the Republic, as the House of Organa and Alderaan had it's place and representation, why was she needed now. It had to be something to do with her father and his passing.

She couldn't quite figure it out and the answer would not come until the following morning. Alyesa made her way down the spiraling staircase towards the rear of the kitchen area, and as soon as she approached a droid with a human assistant quickly came to her and ushered her towards the dining area. "M'lady, you can't go this way."

Alyesa groaned softly and held her hands up as she made her way to the dining area, the sound of polite giggling and laughter caught her attention and as she came to the door, it would slide open to reveal the Grand Vizer of Alderaan and her mother conversing. Alyesa raised an eyebrow as the elder man stood when she entered the room and bowed. "Princess Alyesa, a pleasure to see you."

The title caused her to wince heavily and more noticably than she realized which prompted a "cough" from her mother. Alyesa put on a nice, tight smile and gave a polite curtsy before addressing the Vizer. "Grand Vizer Entor, it's a pleasure to see you after so many years."

"I actually came over with a bit of good news from the High Council." The elder man said as he rounded the table and approached Alyesa, as he came to her, he would encompass her hands and gently pat them. "The law states that your absence is...well for a more polite way to put it." He would look to Fayre before turning back to Alyesa. "Excusable."

Alyesa's eyebrow would perk in curiosity. "And? What exactly am I being prepared for her Grand Vizer?"

The elder man would chuckle softly and pat her hands again. "My dear Alyesa, you are to take your fathers place on the High Council as expressed by the Queen-Regent." He made a motion towards her mother. The elder Praxon-Organa had a tight, satisifying smile on her face that caused Alyesa to glare mencingly until Entor turned back to face her. As soon as he did, she quickly smiled and even faked a chuckle. "Oh that is wonderful news." She said with obvious sarcasm.

The Grand Vizer was no fool, he gently patted her hands and pulled away before moving back to the Queen-Regeant's side. "Now, Princess, we know it isn't your desire to be tamed but you must understand that we have laws and customs that are to be adhered to." He made a motion towards the spherical window, towards the plains of Alderaan. "You wouldn't want another House controlling the High Council or the High Courts now would you?"

Obviously, it was a rhetorical question as Alyesa didn't get a chance to respond before he continued. "Now, the ceremony is this afternoon and then the news will be pressed out to all of Alderaan."

"But what of my obligation to the Republic?" Alyesa interjected as the man went to bow before the Queen, he would rise slowly and walk back over to Alyesa. He brought a wrinkled hand to her shoulder and gently pressed. "My dear, that will come in time, first you must fulfill your duties here. The Queen cannot control the House and the High Council." His smile was big, large enough to swallow a freighter it would seem. "You must take your place where your father once was, as his only heir." Another pat before he stepped back and bowed, prompting Alyesa to give a half-hearted curtsy.

"Have a pleasant morning, m'lady." He said before exiting the dining room, leaving a more confused Alyesa to stare at the white walls. Why did she even come home?

Event: Swearing in of Alyesa Praxon-Organa

The dress was tight, tight enough it felt like the very breath that came from her was forced out everytime she would breath in. "Mom, I can't breathe in this." She said with a huff and a bit of movement as droids and servants moved about her in the white and silver gown. She bore the emblem of the House of Organa and the Royal High Council upon her upper right collarbone, a bit of decoration in a way but also a way to identify who she was and that she was apart of the High Council.

"You will be fine." Her mother touted as she too was adjusted by droids and servants. The elder Praxon-Organa looked more lovely than Alyesa had ever seen her mother look in a long time. Maybe it was because she had a sense of great pride and accomplishment for having her daughter back at her side or maybe it was because of control of the House and as the ruling body of Alderaan would stay within their reins.

Alyesa would never be able to tell.

Of course with her mother, it was most likely the latter as opposed to Alyesa being back. Why was Fayre so against Alyesa being wild and free? Wasn't she the same way?

As if the Queen-Regnant could read the expression on her daughters face, she replied. "Duty."

Alyesa turned to her a bit, breathing in as deep as she could despite the immense pressure of the corset and the other dress items upon her figure. "I'm sorry? Come again?" She said.

"It's about duty, that is why you're here and not elsewhere." She turned to her daughter, taking the Crown of the Skies from a red pillow that was presented to her. She quietly moved closer to Alyesa and placed it upon her head, seating it firmly within her silver tassels. "You are royalty, your duty is to the people of Alderaan, not to some distant planet." She nodded softly.

"I respect you leaving on good terms all those years ago, but that was then and this is now. You will learn your place my young child and you will have your time to shine in the Republic, as a representative of Alderaan." Fayre said as she brought both gloved hands up to grasp Alyesa's shoulders. "Your father would have wanted this, you know?"

Alyesa pursed her lips as the mention of her father, she could only turn her head slightly to the right and nod. "I know."

The Queen nodded in return, gripping Alyesa's shoulders in a firm yet reassuring way. "Then let's do this, and you ensure you do the right thing."

Event: Swearing in of Alyesa Praxon-Organa

"And do you swear to uphold the laws of Alderaan and protect her people until the day of your death or relieved from service?" The Grand Vizer echoed the words that many who were appointed to the High Council had to affirm.

Alyesa took a deep breath, nodding softly as her right hand remained placed on a royal tome that contained ancient writings of Alderaanian laws and customs.

"I do."

Those two words were something Alyesa figured she would be saying to a man, not a book at this stage in her life. Then again, if her mother had her way, she'd be in a far worse position than she was now. Infront of dozens of royal members of the Three Houses, standing on a large overlook in her own home, in a tight dress and reciting various lines from a tome that was the very word of her people. Yes, her people. She accepted her fate to a degree but wouldn't completely be tamed by such a system.

Just the manner in which she displayed her dissatisfaction for what she was going through would be...less public.

"I hereby proclaim, on this day, that Princess Alyesa Praxon-Organa is a member of High Council, and heir to the throne of Alderaan."

The sound of jarring cheers echoed from the balcony as well as the actual city of Aldera. She had forgotten that the event was being transmissible and was being sent to the beings of Alderaan and gods knows where else. Alyesa would only curtsy slightly, her cheeks turning a soft crimson as her mother approached and took her arm within her own. The Queen then escorted her away from the Grand Vizer and passed the gawking, talking and for the love of the gods...squawking crowd.

Alyesa's face felt flushed and on fire and that somehow prompted a response from her mother that caused her even more ire.

"You should be proud, it took your father..." She looked up in brief thought as they passed people bowing and curtsying in respect. "Twice to get a few of those sentences correct. You got it right on the first try..." She said through a smile as they approached the exit of the balcony.

"Oh?" Alyesa said. "How many times did it take you? Four or five?" She fired back, causing her mother to nudge her subtly. Alyesa grimaced in a bit of pain as they came to the exit once more, turning one last time to the clapping crowd.

"You will have to be re-educated on customs and courtesies." Her mother said quietly.

Alyesa groaned softly and looked away as they turned again and exited the balcony. "I was afraid you were going to say that."

Event: Royal Banquet after Swearing in Ceremony.

Alyesa stood next to her mother, her hands clasped over one and another as she bowed her head softly to each dignitary as they came forward. Each one that passed and gave her a smile and a greeting would recieve something of genuine nature back. ~Does it ever end.~ And she could swear with the response of her mother, she had a look on her face.

Fayre would continue to smile but speak subtely. "You'll get used to this."

"Actually, I think that'll be the worst part, especially in dresses like these." Alyesa said with a slight frown, causing her mother to shift uncomfortably. The last dignitary would come forth and leave just as quick as the rest, and the banquet and dance would begin. This was going to be a long day, Alyesa would only hope that [member="Maria Natalja"] or someone from the Senate had recieved the last minute invites and was able to attend. Then again, it wouldn't surprise her if the Senate had been notified and the Supreme Chancellor had sent people out already.

Maria Natalja had been sent a little invitation to a royal banquet only a little time ago, but as she had no other duties at that moment, she was able to react quickly and find a beautiful night dress. Her favourite colours for that would have been the darker ones, but she really doubt one would want to see her in a black dress on such a grand event. She was supposed to go to Alderaan, after all, not to a simple-minded planet. Maria had heard something about colour meanings and she knew blue and white would have been her best combination. Not only because of the colours' meanings, but also because of these two not conflicting at all.

She had chosen one of her favourite light colour dresses, a long white and blue one. She was also going to take a blue handbag with her, a small one. Something which would contain only a few vital items. And, well, white shoes which had quite long heels and were really not comfortable at all. But she had to manage.

And soon she was ready, all of her clothing and makeup on, she hurried out of her door to her little hangar on the planet's shipyard, and started flying towards the royal planet of Alderaan. Her mind was full of thoughts of how powerful the event may be, but she didn't want to get false expectations so she stopped doing that after a while. Instead, she started practising proper talk. She had not used that one for some time now.

A lot later Maria found herself walking down the carpet, just like every other noble, and she felt like a special person again. Like everybody else, she stopped in front of the heads of this noble house, and greeted the Organas. It was a honour to be there that day.

She couldn't quite say that relieved was the word to see [member="Maria Natalja"], it was more like one of those times where you got a school girl type scream within and wanted to let it out. Of course, in such a function, one would look extremely foolish to do so. ~Finally, a normal person~ She quickly moved to greet Maria, her hands coming to clasp around the other woman's eagerly. "Senator Natalja! So nice to see you, I wasn't expecting anyone to be honest." She looked over her shoulder quickly and then back to the woman. "The Supreme Chancellor didn't come by chance did he?" She said with a lingering hint of hope.

Of course not, why would he have come...Republic was at war and this was not really an event fit for a being of his stature, atleast at a time like this.

Just like the seemingly youngest Organa was happy to see Maria, the Jedi was also excited to see her. She hadn't thought the royal banquet involved a Senator. Even though... it was probably what she should have assumed. Why would the Supreme Chancellor invite a person to such an event if it didn't involve anything important for the Senate.

"It is nice to see you, too! I am afraid the Supreme Chancellor didn't come today, but he sent me the invitation he had received. I am assuming if not other Senators weren't invited, I will be representing the Senate here," Maria spoke with her polite and proper voice, carefully watching her words. But not too carefully, as obviously her speech didn't involve moments of silence which some people use to think about words to use.

Then she smiled.
