OUT OF CHARACTER INFORMATION
Formed as a cadet branch of House Nalju nearly seven hundred years ago and having started no wars, overthrown no governments, and been implicated in no major scandals since then, at least officially, House Terassi is not a name often spoken outside of Serenno's finer circles.
To those in the know, however, it remains a pervasive presence in the galactic property market - while the Terassi Estates are not the largest, they are not small either and the properties held through merely financial means are much, much greater yet; from Serenno to the Outer Rim, countless sapients and businesses alike have House Terassi as their landlords, albeit often through various companies and management structures.
Whether through fortune or planning - or more likely a healthy dose of both - the House endured the Gulag Plague and more recent disasters alike fairly well, though to say it emerged unscathed would hardly be an accurate representation of the truth. Rather, it endured as it always had, with prudence and pragmatism, all the way scooping up underpriced property to add to its ever-growing portfolio.
- Intent: Flesh out Adrian's family and add some flavour to Serenno.

- Organization Name: House Terassi of Serenno
- Classification: Noble House
- Affiliation: Great Houses of Serenno | The Sith Empire
- Organization Symbol: The symbol of House Terassi is a simple white triangle within a blue circle.
- Description: Neither the most nor the least important of Serenno's noble houses, House Terassi has slowly consolidated its power through centuries of real estate purchases and by extension safeguarded a reputation for playing it boringly safe. In recent years, however, certain events, notably the ascension of one of their own to the Dark Council, has spurred the House to take slightly greater risks in pursuit of power and to safeguard themselves from potential backlash - true to its reputation, the House remains nothing if not pragmatic.
- Headquarters: The Terassi Estates, Serenno
- Domain: While not counted among the Great Houses, House Terassi holds significant estates on Serenno, estates which are generally well-managed, tidy, and profitable. Ultimately restrained both by the Great Houses collectively and the Sith Empire at large, the House's authority over these lands is far from absolute, though most purely local matters are left to their discretion.
- Notable Assets:
- House Guard: While a positively tiny force by galactic standards, the House Guardsmen are loyal, well-trained, and well-equipped. They usually wear light betaplast armour and wield force pikes or blaster carbines; high-end battle droids, Sentinels in particular, bolster their numbers as needed. Common assignments include safeguarding House assets and estates and serving as bodyguards for its members, in the former capacity they are often supplemented by local law enforcement and security droids.
- Real Estate: House Terassi owns vast amounts of real estate on Serenno itself and in the greater galaxy, real estate which serves as its primary source of income and one of the most important ways in which it exerts its influence. Recently, the house has partnered with the Globex Corporation on several major infrastructural and urban development projects in search of ever-greater profits.
- Misc. Assets: While primarily focused on real estate, the House has various other assets as well, from stocks to art to precious metals; most notable of these is a controlling share in Vanguard Hypernautics, a Serennian shipwright founded by the House decades prior.
- Hierarchy: Less structured than a more formal organisation yet more than the average family of commoners, House Terassi is headed by the current Baron Terassi, though that is not to say the Baron always has the last word in familial matters. Aside from this formal title, authority derives more from interpersonal relationships than rules set in stone.
- Membership: The House itself numbers around twenty core members, including those who have married into the House but not anything but the closest of cousins. While it is generally understood that unsuitable individuals will not be permitted to take the Terassi name, it is not a requirement that prospective future members of the family be from nobility and the like, only that they are especially accomplished as a person - a Sith Knight (though a Lord would be preferable), perhaps, or maybe a faculty head from a respected university.
- Climate: Fairly friendly, as far as noble families go, member of House Terassi are generally not expected to dedicate themselves fully to the family's interests, though a certain loyalty to its goals is expected. The family's retainers are treated and paid well by most standards, though it should be noted that the House is extremely strict with embezzlers and the like - traitors tend to be terminated with extreme prejudice.
- Reputation: Reputable and reliable by most standards, House Terassi has strived for generations to build its assets and reputation in equal measure and is generally well-regarded on Serenno and other worlds on which it controls significant assets. Outside of aristocratic circles, the House is not particularly famous, mostly due to its slow and steady approach to amassing wealth and power.
- Curios: Members of House Terassi are entitled to wear its sigil on signet rings and the like and will sometimes opt to wear its colours (white and blue) as well. Retainers are permitted to wear the sigil on uniforms and often wear the colours while on duty. High-ranking members of the House and the most valued of its retainers often own or have access to yachts and shuttles custom-made by Vanguard Hypernautics.
- Rules: While the House hardly has any rules set in stone, family members are expected to behave as befitting their rank, to not break the law (or at the very least not get caught), and to give due consideration to the family's long-term interests in their actions. Purely private matters are generally not a subject of familial scrutiny so long as some semblance of propriety is maintained.
- Goals: Ultimately, House Terassi seeks to be counted among the Great Houses of Serenno, but unlike more foolish groupings they have opted for the long-term approach, slowly consolidating their power and amassing more and more wealth. The family has recently become very interested in bolstering its ties with the Sith Empire through Adrian and his seat on the Dark Council... while at the same time positioning themselves to come out on top should it collapse. In most matters, pragmatism reigns.
- The Family:
- Frelon and Lilisa Terassi: While past the age of retirement by most human standards, this surprisingly (or not, given the top-of-the-line medical technology available to them) spry pair remains the principal heads of House Terassi - Frelon holds the mantle of Baron Terassi while Lilisa, who married into the family many decades ago, has a hand in most financial matters.
- Marrea Terassi: The eldest child of Frelon and Lilisa, Marrea is a calculating woman operating beneath a veil of beneficence, which she maintains through substantial charitable work and a healthy relationship with several notable PR firms.
- Kader Vandiir: Descended from a long line of Corellian shipping moguls that was all but wiped out during the Netherworld Crisis, Marrea's husband Kader has adopted a more private lifestyle following that and further hardships.
- Adrian Terassi Vandiir: The eldest child of Marrea and Kader, Adrian, also known as Darth Prospero, has had a significant hand in the recent blossoming of House Terassi's influence, his position as Dark Councilor providing the family with significant leverage and a very profitable relationship with Sith-Imperial authorities. [PC]
- Desric Terassi Vandiir: Far less famous than his older brother, Desric has been increasing his involvement with the family business after earning a business degree from the University of Rudrig. After a Selectivist terrorist attack on Rudrig nearly claimed his life, he was given a protective detail of Sithspawn by his older brother.
- Dran Terassi: An ambitious young man climbing the hierarchy of the Sith-Imperial Navy, Dran is a grandson of Frelon and Lilisa and amongst the select few in the family's history to volunteer for military service - a firm believer in the importance of starfighters, he is currently doing his darndest to earn the captaincy of a Bajulator II while entertaining a passion for Huttball.
- Izra Terassi: A distant cousin all but adopted into the family after she was orphaned in a tragic accident, Izra has recently earned a degree in hypernautics and been granted a position within Vanguard Hypernautics' R&D division, specifically the Jumpmaster Project.
- The Retainers:
- Sri-Thik-Thi, Captain of the House Guard: Responsible for all matters of security, including counterintelligence and intelligence gathering, this Tiss'shar is dedicated, capable, and utterly ruthless. He was headhunted for the position by Adrian Terassi Vandiir when the former Captain retired, though where exactly the Sith Lord found him and what he was doing is... somewhat uncertain. (Ex-SIFIA.)
- Nasac Lum, Seneschal of the House: A human in his late fifties with a reputation for precision to the point of pedantry, Lum has served the House faithfully for close to two decades, amassing significant expertise in manners of finance and organisation during that time.
- Guardsman Hegedon: Unusually enough on Serenno, doubly so amongst the nobility, Hegedon is Lamproid, a slightly over six metres long worm-like sentient with peerless combat abilities. Unlike many of his kind, he has developed a fondness for fine art and often volunteers for extra shifts guarding House Terassi's art collections.
- Scribe Yunriri: A relatively recent addition to the House's administrative staff, this Rutian Twi'lek has assumed the unofficial position as Lum's second and oversees many of the less important details pertaining to the Terassi Estates. Though most know that she always seems to be doing something, only a few know that she no longer needs sleep due to a lesai addiction.
