How to catch a lightsaber

On their very first meeting, [member="Darth Ferus"] and Vi'kas had fought. It wasn't a fight to the death or anything, just something the Red Assassin had done to test the young Sith's abilities. Lord Ajihad gave a faint smile as he walked down the academy's halls. Those had been the good old days.

Towards the end of their brawl, Vi'kas had managed to send a small stream of wild lightning at his soon-to-be master, only for him to catch it in his hand as if it were a ball. Ever since then, the assassin had wondered how he'd done that. Finally, after a good deal of reading, he had found it. The ability was called Tutaminis, and was a difficult art to master. After speaking to Ferus on the matter, the senior assassin had agreed to teach him the trick. As a matter of fact, that's where he was headed now.

[member="Lord Ajihad"] would find Ferus in the same training room they had been in prior. Both hands rested behind his back as he looked out over the city of Coruscant, a faint smile on his lips. Memories of when Vi'kas first saw Tutaminus went through his head as well. It seemed like a long time ago, and it was.

Patiently the master would wait, ever keeping a ear out for the sign of his students arrival.

Lord Ajihad swing open the large double doors, and strode into the training room. [member="Darth Ferus"] stood at the window, hands clasped behind his back, looking out over the city-planet.

He walked over, and joined his former master by the window. He looked out at the horizon, as one of the planet's suns began to rise into the morning skyline. The people of the city were just beginning to wake up, and the nightlife was dying down.

He liked to look at every individual, and try to think of what their story was. He wondered how each of them had impacted the galaxy in their own small ways, how his life might be the slightest bit different if even one of them didn't exist. He wondered if he had met any of them before, but just didn't remember. After marveling at the waking world before him, he spoke to Ferus, "Beautiful morning, eh?"

"Aye, it is. But, we're not here to marvel at the world, are we?" Ever to the point, Darth Ferus turned on a heel to face [member="Lord Ajihad"] . Keeping both hands behind his back, he would get right to the lesson. "Tutaminus, turning your opponents raw energy into your own power. Or any power. Heat, electricity, you convert it. Take it into your body, change it forcibly, and empower yourself."

Vi'kas turned around, and nodded. He had known this coming into the lesson, to spare his former master the time spent explaining it. He had researched it to the fullest extent, so they could cut right to the chase. He knew Ferus had other apprentices, and he didn't want to take too much time learning Turaminis.

[member="Darth Ferus"]

"The Force is all energy. Down to it's core, anything can be changed because of this. That is a different lesson however. For now, you're going to practice absorbing raw energy into your body." A single hand came out, and a pitch flame formed over it. Ferus held the fire out for [member="Lord Ajihad"] , nodding once.

"Absorb the energy of this flame with your hand."

Vi'kas nodded, and stuck out his hand, so it hovered over [member="Darth Ferus"] 's. He closed his eyes, and felt out with the force. He felt the energy of the flame, as well as the energy that rested inside of his own body. He concentrated on making a link between the energies, almost like Vaapad. He began to siphon the energy from one point to another, and felt the power begin to flow through him.

After he had absorbed a satisfactory amount, he severed the link. He felt the force boiling over in him, trying to push its way out. He felt the extreme power, and new it had to be discharged. Almost shaking with the amount of energy inside himself. Roaring like a Rancor, he released a cobalt stream of electricity into a dummy, and sent it careening backwards into a wall. It was now a melted pile of metallic sludge, and Vi''kas stopped the electric flow. However, he had used more energy than intended, and dropped to a knee in exhaustion.

A swift nod was all [member="Lord Ajihad"] would get after the power was absorbed. "Be careful. The additional energy can destroy you if you hold it too long, and as you've now felt, you can drain yourself just as well." Chuckling, Darth Ferus would turn from the boy, once more looking out to the city.

"This concludes the lesson. Try to use it on power sources that aren't being controlled not to harm you, you'll find that rather difficult."

After regaining substantial energy, Vi'kas stood back up. He heard what [member="Darth Ferus"] sad, and thought for minute. What he requested would be hard, given the only time he could really practice it was in actual combat. After finishing the thought, Lord Ajihad looked back at his former master, and spoke, "One last request. Can you, um, well... can you electrocute me?" He wasn't a huge fan of this idea, but he would do what he had to do in order to properly train.
