How To Kiss Your Dragon (For Muad)

As someone who back in the day actually faced off against another player using a giant flying fire-breathing, force-using lizard. It was funny to see the species get unbanned recently. However, I also felt rather joyful of it too. Mostly because since then, I've gotten rather good at fighting dragons. Especially in a symbolic sense. As a writer and as a director.

See. Fighting a dragon in pvp isn't very different from fighting anything else in pvp. There's the stage. The characters. And your infinite imagination. Infinite possibilities. Just like in every other fight. I mean. Sure, you can say that when fighting a dragon there are wildly terrifying things present such as the heavy weight class, the fire breathing death, it's flying annoyance, and it's always impenetrably tough iron scales that you have to overcome? But. Really. Isn't that the same when fighting a Mando too? Think about it. They're bigger, badder, impenetrable, fire-breathing, flying professional hunters. Just like the spirit of a dragon. Heck. It might be easy to get the two confused when you think about it that way. After all. What is a dragon? What makes something really really, a dragon?

Well. Perhaps a dragon is what every apex predator has in common? A giant fire-breathing combination of every scary thing we can think up. They are as scary, and as fierce, and as indomitable as we can make them. Especially in mythology. Ancient and modern mythology. Heck. Just calling a man a dragon and you've probably just elevated them to one scary, powerful place. After all. Dragons do it all. They do everything good. And rightly so. Because anything less then the best, the most teeth, the most claws, the most terrifying; and it's really not a dragon anymore is it? It's,.. Well. It's more of just a lizard then isn't it. Something we keep as pets or deal with like bugs or pests. No. Not very dragon'y at all.

So this begs the question. How do you fight a dragon in pvp? And I'd say. Well, probably just like everything else. You take hits, you build a drama. You both have big awesome moments of power and both give each other gaping holes of vulnerability. You sling bullets, lasers, rocks, or Force'y magical powers at each other like two drunk men boxing in a thunderstorm. No biggie.

However. I also remember that dragons got banned for a reason. People, myself included, thought they were a bit OP. Especially Force-sensitive dragons with thousands of years under their belt. So I've decided to open a discussion for the community about how we can prepare ourselves a bit better for when these giant flying creatures start taking to the battlefields en masse. (Though, admittedly, giant sithspawn and towering robots will probably always outnumber them.) So yeah. Let's do this like a round table. Because we could all use some cool ideas anyway.

Q: How would you, as a Star Wars fan writer, go about fighting a dragon (in pvp)?

I'm liking it. I'm liking it. :D :p

In all seriousness though it's just a big flying creature. Star fighters could be used to take it down. [member="Valiens Nantaris"] is pretty spot on on how to handle them. Heck there's the Force. Chuck a saber at a wing and watch it come tumbling down. And you don't need to be a Dragon to be a Force user with thousands of years under your belt. We see that all the time with writers, so whats the difference? You've covered a lot of topics as to why there is no difference in your opening post.

I guess I should have been more specific in my ending question. I think I'll add the words ", in PvP." so more people know that I'm not just talking about shenanigans in general. Good catch. :p

The same still applies. I see no difference in fighting a dragon in PvP then fighting some droid with force like tech in a phrik body suit or a Force wielding Mandalorian in a powersuit of Beskar and skulls.

Asides from the size/wings bit.
