How to make/write an impeiral?

Ok, I got a problem with making characters, I know. But, I've always had a desire to make an imperial character. I was always a fan of the Empire and not the Rebellion cause, Empire Forever and the Empire is the best in the galaxy. Only problem is, I'm not sure how to rp/write an imperial. I'm always kind of spotty at rp, sometimes theirs a good few paragraphs, other times it's only 5 sentences. So me being me doesn't help much. I don't know the first things about writing an imperial, whether they should be an admiral/trooper/commander/politician, and where to take them. Usually, I just go with the flow of making a character and see what happens.

As, the moral of the story is this. We're not professional writers. And nobody here expects you to be either. In fact. There is no wrong way to write an Imperial. From their citizens up to their Grand Admirals. They're all going to be people, with flaws, and opinions, and baggage, and hypocrisies. Yep. All of them.

So here's my advice. Just wear the uniform of your faction and do your best every post to do it justice. Nobody could ask for more. :)

Jay is entirely right. While conforming to the cliches are fun an all, why don't you make a character and see how well they fit in?

Imperials usually support the ideals of law and order. Essentially, what is better for society is preferable to what is better for the individual. Imperials usually hate lawless rebels and pirates, or backwards nations reliant on archaic spiritual texts (Jedi/Sith).

But look around you in your daily life. There's hundreds of people you probably interact with on a daily basis. Each of them have different motivations and ideals of every shade and hue. Characters can be just as varied, like Graf and the others said, find what works for you.
