Private How You Remind Me

Karideph

His journey through the Outer Rim was...interesting to say the least. Some new faces had been introduced to him, new places, and new experiences. Honesty, it felt nice just to get away from the Jedi Temple. Especially after the battle fought around a week ago.

Ziost still shook him every night. Visions and nightmares came to him in his sleep, and he wanted answers. Because right now, all they were doing was confusing him, frightening him.

Somewhere in the Outer Rim, he felt a call. A call that could help him find his place. Though he didn’t know what it was yet, it was important that he find it. He didn’t want to shy away from this.

The Thunderstruck touched down on the small landing pad. Small bits of grass and branches were pushed out of the way, the thrusters slowly powering down. Once the ship was fully shut off, he hopped and jumped onto the ground. This planet felt different. Something was here, he knew it.

A nearby village was only a couple of yards away from the pad. He walked to it, entering in though the gates. As he passed the villages, their was a odd feeling coming from them. Fear? Hate? It wasn’t directed towards him, but someone else here. Maybe that is what he was looking for.

A small restaurant seemed to only have a few people inside. Heading through the doorway, he was struck with a presence. A force presence. Turning his head to the back of the building, he saw a boy. Must’ve been no older than sixteen. This was the person the villages didn’t like. But why?

Walking over to the table, he stood a few feet from the boy. He decided to introduce himself.

“Hello, I’m Okkeus. Mind if I sit?”

"It's fine. I'm leaving anyway"

The boy looked up from his meal and shook his head. He stood from the table and picked up his jacket. He didn't know the man and he didn't want to know the man, he had other things to do and other places to be. The man didn't interest him, the village didn't interest him. All of them were means to an end.

Slowly, he licked his lips as he stepped from the food hall.

He had been on the planet for long enough that people recognized him and remained out of his way. He very much preferred that, preferred being left to his own devices. People had learnt that they got hurt when they interfered in his business.

Thankfully he was given space and everyone avoided him as he walked back to the wreckage that he called home. It was an old Venator that had crashed years ago, a ship that he had been aboard when it had crashed. He'd lost friends and family and only survived because those who also survived helped him.

No-one really knew how they had died, but people had quickly figured out that Jaedyn was the only person walking into village after a while. Eventually rumors began to spread, rumors Jaedyn had never confirmed but that he had never denied either. Rumors that he had killed the rest of the survivors to further himself.

The boy sat down at the entrance to the wreckage, and smiled to himself. Another day in paradise.

He was taken back by the tone of harshness in the young boy’s voice. The Jedi’s eyes followed the boy as he stood up and walked away, leaving the table. Looking back he saw the remaining meal left. Dropping some credits onto the table he then followed the boy.

“Hey, wait up!”

It didn’t seem like the boy gave a care to him, or any of the other villagers for that matter. People moved out of his way as he walked, like he was a plague. The man couldn’t imagine how someone could even be treated like that. What happened here?

The boy made his way over to a wrecked Venator-Class ship that looked like it went down many years ago. He guessed this was the boy’s home. Waiting a minute or so after the boy sat down, he decided to join him.

“Look, all I want to do is talk. Doesn’t seem like many people want to do that. Plus, I can sense some turmoil within you. I kno...knew a guy that was the same as you are.”

Without waiting for the boy to respond, he sat down next to him. There was confusion inside of the boy, and he knew too many force-sensitives like him that were in the similar situation.

If he could help one, then at least he made some sort of difference.
