How ?

I've lost da muse or it's a massive writer's block.

I really want to write. Like really.

Bu everytime I get on, I can't push myself to write. I want to do things but I feel there is this invisible barrier infront of me. Perhaps I need tone down my impulse character creations. I seem to have lost the aims of my characters or actually never had ones. Except for Zef but Zef's aims seem completed. His story was 3 RL years ago - it was a story of conflict. Be a smuggler again, the free life or follow your heritage the Mando 'chain n ball'.

And even the impulse characters, I like them but I feel I always end up making too many characters for me to manage and get a mindset on. I feel like I need a radical change.

So any advice would be really helpful.

The best way to push past writer's block is to sit down and write. It doesn't have to be anything deep and meaningful, but just get something on the page. Personally, I like weapons subs, because it gets the creative juices flowing and I like to imagine the stories behind the weapons. Unfortunately, I've gotten myself in a position where that's about all I do these days, but I digress. Anyway, it doesn't matter how silly or shallow the story is. Write about a trip to the store to pick up groceries. Once you get past that initial block, it gets easier.

Hello [member="Zef Halo"]!

When I have writers block, I normally find that I'm putting too much pressure on myself. The writing isn't flowing because I'm stressing over one element or another. In my case, that stress generally stems from trying to structure a story around my character. "Okay, I have a smuggler, I have to make him smuggle something," for example. But, in reality, that isn't when my best writing takes place. So I instead flip my approach. I pick a scenario that I'd like to write about, and I get creative about how I fit my character into it.

On another site, I really wanted to write something horror related. My character had no business in a setting like that, and the theme of the forum did not really call for it. But I found a way to put a spooky spin on an already existing quest, and when I forced myself out of my comfort zone, the writing came really, really easily. I enjoyed the change of pace. I know with websites like this, we can occasionally feel trapped in a specific genre, or story-line.

I'm new to the Star Wars universe, so if you ever want to crank out something that isn't overly lore-heavy, give me a holler. It might be good to step back and write something goofy, shallow, or different.

Exercise and music. Nothing resets my system faster. :)

And also, watching movies. And music. They help me get more inspiration. I also look up art on Google like "space battles" or what have you. I just look at them and think of stories behind each one like down to the stupidest smallest detail of how and why each person is there.

Cheers mate.

I usually watch a bunch of movies or read.

A movie that really got me back into writing was 'Who Am I'.

Edit: James had already suggested movies! Did not see that. Damn mobile browsing.
