Howmany dev threads to be made for...

Hai there,

What I was wondering, since I have never made an actual factory nor a codex based application, if I want to make a stage 3 droid ( I don't remember the name) Howmany development threads will I need? Is there like a scale on what I should be able to follow? Otherwise I make certain applications with many development threads for weak technilogical creations and than on my more powerful too low development xD
