SPECIAL FEATURES
A light in the dark - when users feel as if they cannot go on any longer. When the user has come to a state of anxiety and depression. [SIZE=10pt]Hoylin’s[/SIZE] Crystal of Life is there, giving off positive energies as if to remind the user, that they matter. There is always tomorrow, there is always a better day and all they have to do is hang on.
Life is so precious - the Nothing took so much from the people of [SIZE=10pt]Hoylin[/SIZE]. Remember them, remember the lives that were lost. The Crystal of Life wishes nothing but life for it was something not afforded to those who succumbed to the Nothing’s power. No this crystal cannot bring people back from the dead, but it can give a renewed sense of self, it can give peace to those who need it most.
Channel energy - this crystal is able to channel the various energies, elemental, mental and physical. It was after all formed during a meeting of these energies.
Brightest day - the crystal is strongest when exposed to sunlight, and returns to normal strength during the night.
Channel: Enables the Force User to channel the energies around them.
Precious Light: Works to buff the Force User’s mental state and give a sense of peace and calm which may otherwise not be there for the Force User.
Brightest Day: Blade will be strongest when exposed to the sunlight.
Radiation: Radiation is able to creep where other energies or types of resistance are not able to, thus getting into the finite grains of the crystal itself. This causes the crystal to lose its own essence and ultimately become inert.
Kinetic: Quite fragile if not in a protective case, even just handling it must be done with great care.
Corruption: While not explicity aligned to either dark or light, there is a chance for the crystal to become corrupted and if so it may lose its Force abilities and become a simple lightsaber crystal. To avoid this - it is recommended to meditate and focus with the crystal or the lightsaber it is housed in nearby.
In all things, there is a balance, no more was that true than on Hoylin. Darkness clung to the land depriving it of life and once the Order of the Sacred Lotus arrived to cleanse it. They would fail, but they had not given up on the planet. As the Nothing formed across the land, as it consumed the light many feared that the planet would be engulfed by the darkness. When the Order of the Sacred Lotus returned they returned with a renewed sense of purpose.
Led by Viceroy Tellu Talon, Order of the Sacred Lotus would cleanse Hoylin. In doing so, Tellu gave herself to the Force. For where the Nothing had once formed across the land, would now be healed. No longer would the Nothing strangle the life from the world. No longer would there be despair, or fear, for in its place would be hope and joy. As one life came to a close, surely others would begin.
As part of Mishel’s vow to the Exarch to reforge Tellu’s halberd. The Jedi returned to Hoylin, guided by those who had been present on the day Tellu cleansed the Nothing. Aided by the Force, Mishel found herself near the epicenter of where this occurred. She wasn’t sure what she was looking for at first but as she continued to search she found a small outgrowth of crystals nestled between rubble and debris that had yet to be removed.
Forging a specialized crate for these crystals, Mishel took them with her back to Monastery’s Nexus, where she could use them in the halberd. When she arrived back on Monastery, Mishel took samples of the crystal and began to study them. They revealed to her what happened on that day perhaps in more detail than any account. For through the Force they revealed what Tellu had sacrificed. Mishel’s heart ached for she knew the very words that were spoken.
Tellu had been a light in the dark, a promising word of hope. The friend who reminded you, that you would be alright. Someone who not only stood in the darkness but withstood its greatest powers, doubt, fear, and hopelessness. She claimed the truth and held onto it so fiercely that she was able to wield it. In doing so she had broken whatever curse had plagued Hoylin. Leaving behind so much more than just a people healed, and a land cleansed, but hope for a better tomorrow.
Today might have been, it may have taken all it could from you, but there is always tomorrow. The Nothing held the people of Hoylin, even turned some of them into feral creatures. But there was always tomorrow, always room for hope, for confidence and for joy. The Hoylin Crystal of Life reflected this in its structure and so it was without a doubt something that had to be included in the reforged halberd.
