- General information:
- The Skjöldr is an energy shield that can be used in all areas of life. It provides a high level of protection against a myriad of effects, making both types of the shield widely used.
- The shape, size and form of the shield can be modified incredibly well and easily. It can be a body-shielding shield, hemisphere, sphere, it can take the shape of an actual shield, or they can use the form of vehicles / spaceships, etc.
- Each shield is powered by HAPU, which gives them a very long life / operation.
- Shield projectors are very light in all forms, so they can be easily transported and used. This is especially useful for personal use.
- It’s worth noting that thanks to HAPU, the shield lasts a long time and provides good protection even under attack.
- The shield is adequately protected, which means that if it receives too many attacks and its energy source, HAPU, overheats or is damaged, it is not likely to explode because even in the event of a failure or overheating, the shield will shut down. - High resistances: The Skjöldr offers great protection against a myriad of effects such as kinetic, energy, environmental, radiation, EMP/ion.
- Wide-use: It can be used and manufactured in a variety of sizes, from tiny/small bucklers to planetary shields. NB: The adjustable size that can be created depends on the size of the projector that creates the shield. For example: a personal shield will not be used on a vehicle or building. And no planetary shield can be used on a Star Destroyer.
- Long-lifetime: Thanks to the HAPU, it has a very long operating and lifetime.
- Overheat: During continuous attacks, the shield-projector may overheat, which may cause damage to the HAPU or begin to overheat. For safety reasons and to prevent an explosion, the shield will turn off until the HAPU cools down. Larger shields use backup HAPU units to avoid this, although the personal shields do not have backup unit(s).
- Lack of Resistance: The shield does not provide protection against countless things, or only very little, such as sonic attacks, disruptors, acid and corrosive effects, electricity or the Force.
- Failure, explosion: In case of failure and injury, in better cases the HAPU will shut down, in worse cases it can have catastrophic consequences. This is because the unit may explode. The larger the unit, the larger the explosion; the explosion of a city grade unit can also cause the destruction of the city.
- EMP/Ion: Although the outer casing of the units and the system itself protect against EMP / Ion attacks, continuous high level impacts or attacks break through the protection, or overcharge the shields and projectors and those shuts down.
