DESCRIPTION

The HS Multirole Device is a cross between a datapad and a computer probe. It is wrist mounted and features both a keypad, navigational arrows, and a touch screen. The two smaller knobs are used to adjust various settings on the device and navigate between menus. The larger of the three knobs is the head of a computer probe, which is connected to the rest of the device by a retractable fiber optic cord.

Essentially, the HS Multirole Device was designed to function as a robust datapad for Syndicate operators. It’s a very convenient device filled with all sorts of helpful applications and features. Day planners, finance managers, HoloNet browsers, remote vehicle control, eBook readers, - you name it!

These are all incidental features, though. The HS Multirole Device is also designed primarily to be a very powerful tool for slicing. Many freelance slicers use highly customized and irregular devices in their work. Up until recently, so did those slicers on the Syndicate’s payroll. It was determined that their overall efficiency and quality by issuing standardized equipment.

HS Multirole Devices feature a number of attachments suited for slicing, such as a scramble key and slicer chip, which allow it to easily break electronic locks and take control of certain accessed systems, respectively. The HS Multirole Device can also generate and store up to seven computer spikes at a time.

Use of the HS Multirole device is fairly intuitive - even the most thickheaded luddite could get a firm grasp of its use. Even in terms of using it to slice into protected computer systems, albeit only those simple, modestly protected ones. Anything more and you’d have to get a professional.

You should want to do that anyway, of course. As more skilled slicers are going to get more mileage out of the device. In the hands of a professional, an HS Multirole Device can not only gain access to a system to obtain protected data, but remotely manipulate the system as well. Many HS Multirole Devices also carry the Crimson Horse malware and will deposit it in any system they gain access to.
