- Alternative Form of Propulsion
- Alternative Propulsion: The Huabing drive uses gravitational technology to drive a ship forward through space instead of relying on the normal fuel driven sunlight engines. While a standard Repulsorlift was capable of lifting and moving a vehicle in the atmosphere, the Huabing uses the more powerful and capable Feilong Repulsors. The greater power the Feilong Repulsors generate allows the Huabing to not just push against the mass of a planet to move a vehicle, but to find a purchase on the curve of spacetime itself, allowing it to move through space.
- Maneuverable: Because the Huabing doesn’t rely on an engine or thruster to provide it with the momentum it is capable of applying thrust in any direction its user requires. This allows the ship or vehicle it is equipped to jump around at will.
- Steep curve: The Huabing drive pushes against the curve of spacetime as caused by mass or gravitational forces, in effect the drive skates against the curve of spacetime. However, the drive requires a curve to work against. While a shallow curve can be found anywhere, the Huabing drive is most effective in a star system where it has at least the curvature caused by a star to work with. The drive’s ability to accelerate and manoeuvre in the depths of space is severely decreased (OOC: An effective speed and manoeuvrability of Very Low when using the Huabing outside of a star system)
The repulsor is a ubiquitous piece of technology, found almost the entire galaxy-wide, with a myriad of uses. From the most advanced galactic hotspot to the most decrepit backwater the repulsor technology was a part of life. However, like much of the technology in the galaxy it’s been stagnant for centuries, not improving, not changing.
The Huabing drive is one of Locke and Key’s attempts to start progressing gravity-based technologies. Using more powerful repulsors they were able to create a drive that is able to push against the gravitational curve of a star system, allowing for a more controlled movement in whichever direction the pilot wants.
