Leira Rhys
Character
It was winter; It was cold.
Cold meant things stopped growing, things hid and hibernated. There wasn't a whole lot of game or edible plants for Leira to scavenge. She had been looking for hours, only able to kill small animals that happened to be unfortunate enough to peek their heads out long enough for her to put an arrow through their skull. A few minutes later it had come down in a hard pouring rain that soaked through Leira's layered jackets and absolutely chilled her to the bone. She retreated under the only dry place she could find, a bridge, and had herself a long frustrated cry before letting her anger out by throwing broken pieces of cement at the ground as hard as she could.
After she'd gotten it out of her system, she pulled herself together. She had to find more to eat tonight. Leira was steadily losing weight and was beginning to look like skin pulled over bones instead of an actual person with shape and form.
She thought of her options. Hunting for food was unlikely to be fruitful. She didn't have many credits and couldn't buy food. She thought of selling her possessions so she could buy food but she didn't own anything she didn't need. Then she remembered that there was a junkyard nearby. Sometimes people threw away old droids, it was possible she could scavenge parts out of them and sell them. It was worth a try, anyways.
Leira began her walk towards the junkyard with her hands in her jacket pockets. She felt cold and uncomfortable due to her clothes still being damp and her wet hair had frosted over.
She arrived at the junkyard and began her search, rummaging through piles of trash and hoping to find something good. Lucky for her, she found an unopened can of pet food. It was already expired but Leira was ravenous. She cracked it open and took its' contents in her hands like an animal, shoving it into her mouth. It tasted horrible but it would dull the ache of her hollow stomach.
She figured she could spare a few moments from her search to sate her hunger.
