Hungover and not ready to chat! (Arisa Yune)

Yuroic woke up wishing he hadn't. His head was in agony, throbbing and his throat sore. Knowing he had thrown up from the sour taste in his mouth and at the back of his throat, he let out a deep groan. What had happened last night? His memories of the night were foggy at best and completely blank at worse. Blinking his eyes open, he felt the painful glare of sunlight hit his eyes. Hissing as he covered his eyes to protect them, he needed water desperately. Moving off his bed, he slumped to the ground and let out another painful groan. Muscles were in deep agony as he attempted to shift forwards, only rolling around which made him feel ready to throw up again.

Finally reaching the bathroom he lifted himself up to the sink and switched on the tap. Gulping copious amount of water as it poured out. Feeling himself getting slightly light headed from the heavy drinking, but also filling a very empty bladder quickly. Drinking some more before he finally felt full, he then emptied his bladder before drinking more. Spending an hour recovering from the previous night, Yuroic grumbled and looked at his datapad, seeing there was a message from his Master; it was asking him to join her for a talk. His mind flashed back to remembering them in a speeder and a feeling of guilt but, he wasn't sure if they talked about something he had been holding back from her for awhile or not.

Dressing himself carefully as to not set off his still weak stomach, grabbing something light to eat to help settle it down. Also, he checked for new tattoos and was thankful for not having any, though he could have sworn he wanted one while drunk. Shaking his head, clearly he had been smarter than previous nights. It had been years since he was in this state, was not long after he found himself freed that he was repeatedly drinking copious amounts of alcohol and vomiting in alleys. It was after a particular night when he nearly got himself killed that he decided never to drink like it again. However, recent events caused his relapse, he just hoped he hadn't made himself look too stupid.

Sitting in the dining area, hoping to catch an early breakfast to eat and help end his hangover. He waited on his Master to meet and talk, hoping he hadn't made a fool of himself and her.

Arisa was already inside the dining hall well before Yuroic had arrived, helping the morning crew of volunteers prepare breakfast for the temple. Unlike the dining facilities for the Ranger base, the Jedi Temple had no permanent kitchen staff. As with every other element of maintenance with the academy, it was maintained by the Jedi themselves, assisted by droid companions. It was the belief that the need for self-maintenance would keep the Jedi grounded as they learned about the Force.

One when she felt Yuroic arrive in the dining hall did she pause in her work, breaking away with a large tray in hand. She exited through the swinging kitchen door to find Yuroic sitting by himself in a far corner of the room looking totally frazzled. By contrast, Arisa was quite perky even so early in the morning. The Jedi Master didn't need much sleep, especially now while she was on admin duty while she was on Voss. Meditation worked wonders on the body and mind.

"Nice to see that you could join me," she said, placing the tray in the middle of the table before taking a seat. It was heaped with a wide assortment of breakfast foods, juices, and coffee. "Get something in your system, then we can talk."

For herself, she would pick out a banana as her first item, thinking about how she would launch into the coming discussion. As she had come to know him better, she could see that Yuroic had a latent rage within that likely been born during his days in slavery. It was something she needed to finally address directly for him to truly progress as a Jedi.

Yuroic drank a lot of the water and then scoffed his face with the cooked food, anything greasy was perfect for him. It was his hangover cure back from his slave days. Being force fed alcohol to ensure he didn't struggle if the twi'lek wanted to send him on a particularly dangerous mission. After a few minutes of eating the greasy food, Yuroic excused himself to the bathroom where he splashed water on his face as he felt his stomach turning. Cooling down, he breathed deeply and shook his head.

Returning after several minutes of him suffering, he returned to the table and took a seat. Another mouthful of water went down before his gaze lowered as his cheeks redden in shame. It has been many years since I have drank like that. Told myself it would never happen again, I barely remember leaving the pub. His memory of the night had moments of complete blankness, no recollection of events. That was the point in which Yuroic knew he had gone too far and needed to apologise to his Master.

I am so sorry for making a scene and acting the way I did Master, it was not becoming for someone who is your Padawan. If there is anyway I can make it I will. Yuroic apologised deeply and sincerely.

Yuroic was in full apology mode after he had finished eating and cleaning up, but Arisa just shook her head in response, not even bothered by his drinking.

"The drinking wasn't the issue for me last night, Yuroic. The issue was that you withheld important information from me. I just didn't want to get into it with you then because you weren't in a good state for talking."

Something told her that if he hadn't been intoxicated in the first place, that he wouldn't have let it slip that he had killed someone during his mission on Trandosha.

"There are a couple topics that I would like to discuss with you today. One is anger, and the other is the fear of loss. Right now, you are allowing both of these things cloud your judgment and dictate your actions, leading to violent and embarrassing displays that are counterproductive to your aims. To start, I would like you to walk me through the events on Trandosha. All of it, including the things you didn't want to tell me. I can't help you if you don't tell me the truth."

Yuroic's gaze lowered to some bread that he ripped apart and ate slowly. His mind wondered back to the events of the mission on Trandosha. Slavers were under control by a mysterious force and he was under orders to find and break the ring apart. He went into the mission with a feeling of confidence and fulfilment as he was helping others from the same bad fate he suffered. However, due to Jairdain being captured things for him took a dark turn.

Pulling out some of the white fluffy innards of the bread and eating it slowly, he raised his gaze to his Master, his words were difficult to find. He wasn't sure how to start the tale, or what was important or not. Hell, he had been pretty detailed in his report, just he missed a few things out. Such as the killing of the unarmed slaver.

There is little different than what I stated in my report. I discovered that there was to be a shipment of new Wookiee slaves in a private dock area and I sneaked in, killing the guards so they could not warn the other slaves who arrived and they were shooting at me as well. I then confronted the slavers on the ship and killed them, freeing the Wookiee slaves. Then, attempted to steal the ship the slavers' used to get to Charros IV but realised that it was too late to save her and that I was too far away. There Yuroic paused and drank some water to sate his dry mouth. From there I raced to the meeting point of the slavers with the new slaves and group that were going to later auction them. I took out, I do mean kill, the guards on the rooftops so they couldn't warn those on the ground of my presence and shoot at me. I killed one of the fleeing slavers who shot at me then grabbed the other to interrogate but he proved to be reluctant to answer my questions. I applied pressure to his throat and he still resisted and before I knew it, he was dead.

Yuroic paused and ate some bread. He wanted to choose his words carefully but he needed to be honest with her as well. I don't regret that man's death. He was a criminal and he had people suffer for money and his pleasure. He did not deserve to live. I do regret letting my anger control me, it was not a nice feeling. However, I found from his datapad that the slavers trace back to Hutt space. So I hit a dead end and could not do anything more on the planet. So I left.

During his response, Arisa found it troubling how easily he recounted killing every slaver. Most disturbing was the revelation of the lack of remorse he felt for the last unarmed slaver he had killed in a fit of rage. At that moment, she regretted letting him go off on that assignment.

She straightened up in her seat, the food was totally forgotten as she grew serious. "Your mission there was simply to uncover evidence of Wookiee slave camps on Trandosha, quietly. By engaging in a confrontation with the slavers instead of pulling back to report your initial findings, you alerted them to the fact that they were being tailed. Since then, the slavers have shifted their operations to make it even more difficult to track their movements."

If there was a silver lining to the whole event, it was that the Trandoshan government could no longer turn a blind eye to events, especially as Antarian Rangers now had a large presence within the Kashyyyk system to discourage any more state sponsored shenanigans.

"It's unfortunate what happened to Jairdain, but she knew what she had signed up for becoming a Jedi and putting herself into harm's way. Our duties sometimes require great sacrifice. You jeopardized the success of a much larger operation in the sector because you gave into your impulses. Now, so many are dead and lost with nothing to show for it. Say you would have stolen that ship and made it to Charros? Then what? I reviewed the footage provided, and you would have stood no chance, especially in your state then. So you would have left me possibly dealing with yet another kidnapped Jedi, or worse. In any action you take, you must pause to think of the possible consequences."
