OUT OF CHARACTER INFORMATION
Clanker designed these to modernize Ewok-style spearmanship, or spearewokship. The general tactic is to strike the game with a throw, letting the spear hang out of them and bleed them out, and wear them down as other hunters would steadily impale the beast with more spears. Unfortunately, most combatants wear armor that makes spears not so useful, so Clanker adjusted the design to better mimic the hunting style. Why not just use a blaster? Well, when was the last time you heard about a droid hitting somebody with a blaster? Exactly.
Intent: To provide proper weapons for my precious Ewok-trained droid platoon.

Miniature Energy Cell
Thruster Throw: Hunter spears have miniature thrusters by the head that are activated with a trigger or a signal from a droid/cybernetic touch. For about 1 second, the thrusters will propel the spear forward, allowing for more powerful throws that can reach 500 meters capable of piercing most normal armor.
EMP Burst: When the spearhead, after thrown via its Thruster Throw, hits or makes contact with anything, it will release an EMP burst that will short-circuit most any technology within 2 meters.
Magnetic Bite: When the EMP Burst is activated or as a separate independent manual trigger, the same mechanism will increase the magnetism of its titanium spearhead, making it stick to any metals (that aren’t explicitly non-magnetic) it makes contact with, allowing it to weigh down targets and increases those stuck object’s magnetic fields to help other hunter spears home-in on it.
Ion Protected: Hunter spears are made resistant to ion damage and EMP’s, specifically to avoid short-circuiting itself.
Retrieval: When thrown, it’s lost and the wielder will have to retrieve it afterward. Better not miss!
Low-Piercing Power: Any armor or shielding more durable than typical will more than likely block a hunter spear.
