Varis Oakertain
Character
In the Den of Darkness
PRELUDE: Darth Rellik The co-head of the Diarchy has tasked Varis Oakertain with capturing and returning of a Adar egg to him. The Dark lord wishes to use this as his new pet aboard his vessel - The Vault.
Near Taspir Three in Diarchy space there is an abandoned space station. Reports coming in from the Diarchy's intelligence Corp "The Network" were showing that pirates, smugglers and various other scoundrels were using the previously un-occupied space as free skies and the station as a harbor. The Diarchy - previously pre-occupied with establishing their foothold's nearby, had noticed the space station fell completely silent.
Lord Rellik tasked a small team with infiltrating the station as smugglers themselves with some holoprojectors to give an idea of what was happening aboard. After a short initial search the team called in and what the crew at the command center saw horrified them. Huge beasts with giant claws and wings ripped into the men as they tried falling back to their ship. As the team lead hid for his life deep within some rubble near the hanger, the sounds of metal being torn to shreds was all the command could hear as he mouthed "Send help"
The Co-head of the Diarchy himself has tasked his most trusted man and hunter to go aboard and bring back an egg or youth of this species to be his personal pet. There will be two shuttles worth of men arriving. Varis will be arriving with another militant member of the Diarchy aboard Lord Rellik's personal IV-9 Rangemaster scout ship, which they will use its lab and medical bay to drug and keep the monster at bay if a youth. The other team will be arriving in a Diarchy shuttle alongside them to help infiltrate and secure the area.
The Adar currently on the Space Station will not be weak, smugglers were using the abandoned imperial station as a harbor for trade and it seems the Adar have been using the goods they were transferring to survive - along with the smugglers themselves.
Even so, some might be in a trance like state where the Adar go into hibernation for a total of eight months requiring no recourses. Be warned - this effect leaves them once a food source has been discovered.
The Adar are dangerous pack hunters that can typically get to 2.5 meters or 8-9 Feet in length. They have enormous clawed forelimbs that they use to get through tight or obstructed areas. Rear-limbs big enough to launch it in the air where it uses its wings to stay afloat for a short period or for large leaps.
The confines of the ship will be our greatest asset. Adar typically will let out a howling screech for their pack to single in on a target, upon which they will swoop in from the sky's and strike down their prey. Hopefully once the hangar bay of the station is cleared this should not be a problem. Do not be fooled, these are still vicious beasts.
"This call goes out to all within, near or far from Diarchy space. The smuggled goods are of no value to the Diarchy and are yours for the taking as reward. If you purely seek the thrill of the hunt, we are not sure how many Adar are aboard. We only know that an entire space station has been decimated - along with a highly trained team from the Diarchy. The honor and trophies are yours for the taking. All the Diarchy wants is one single youth or egg from the beasts. Come, build your legacy hunters." - Varis Oakertain
OOC Notes: Hoping to have a fun, scary, deep dive into an abandoned space station where we will find several layers of Adar, survivor NPC's (chance of leaving is MINIMAL for them) and a Nest with a large Queen like figure. Get out your flashlight gun attachments, flamethrowers and heavy blasters as we prepare to go deeper and deeper into the den.
