Hunting down a very, very, very big worm.

He slowly brought his ship down on the lava planet of Eol Sha. He lowered the ramp, heading down. He removed his gunbag, unslinging it. He unzipped it and let his hand fall inside, gripping the handle of his Revelonian rifle. He quickly slung it over his heavy shoulders. His average armor felt unusually heavy as he had it strapped on tightly and sweat dripped down his forehead. He raised the rifle, keeping the muzzle aiming directly forward. He slowly started walking forwards, examining each pit of lava rather carefully. He made his way across the lava, almost slipping and falling off of each rock he had stepped on to make it across. He carefully made his way over the pool of lava, heading over to the rather tall hill.

He was climbing the hill when he heard a peculiar sound, directly behind him. He spun around, witnessing the rather intimidating image. A large Fireworm. He watched in disbelief as it grew to a very, very, very high in height. He couldn't help notice the red scales on it's body as the serpent rose. He quickly pulled the trigger, watching as the blaster bolt barely damaged scales on it's body, great...he just lost one thousand fething credits. He started sprinting as the serpent sucked up lava through it's body, spewing the lava towards him. "FETHING-" He stopped shouting and just started sprinting. As he was running, he stepped into one of the many holes on the hill, his foot falling through. He let out a swift shout of agony as a loud SNAP was heard. The lava finally crashed down, only inches away from the hunter. He took aim again, squeezing the trigger, firing a bolt at the creature. His bolt missed by only a few inches and it only seemed as if it angered the beast. He pulled his broken leg out of the hole, gritting his teeth in pure pain.

He pulled himself further away from the beast, crawling up the hill. He then squeezed the trigger slowly, weapon aimed at the creature's skull. A few scales on it's head chipped off but not enough to do any damage or expose it's flesh. The creature lurched forward, as it seemed as if it would dive out of the boling lava. He quickly slung his rifle, reaching into his bag, removing his Revelonian pistol. He pointed it at the creature, having a clear aim. That is when the beast spewed more lava, which forced the Ithorian to move, dropping his pistol. Lava crashed down onto the pistol, easily melting through it, which forced him to use his rifle. He grabbed the rifle, crawling behind a rock and loading his rifle. He leaned out of cover, firing the single-shot blaster once more, the bolt striking the creature's head once more, knocking more scales off and into the lava. He let out a sigh of relief, quickly reloading once more.

The creature fell back into the lava, slithering through the boiling rock and lava. Cor could easily tell this thing was alive, but tracking it in the water was not going to be easy. He kept his rifle trained on the lava as he forced himself to limp forward. He continued to climb to climb up the rather steep hill, coming to a halt at the top. He collapsed onto the rigid hill, groaning in pain. The pressure he forced himself to put onto his broken leg was brutal, absoulutely brutal. He propped himself up, taking aim again, watching as there was movement, appearing on the lava. He waited a few more minutes before it came to a halt, it was dead, right? It had to be. Suddenly, the creature rose from the lava swiftly, sending lava flying in all directions. Cor swore under his breath, taking careful aim, before squeezing the trigger. The bolt chipped the scales on the creature's neck, right as it blasted more lava at Cor. He could not believe his luck as the lava, once again, only inches away from him. He couldn't stop himself from letting out a chuckle but he would not be able to hunt for awhile after this hunt.

He aimed again, his arms shaking. He fired once more, missing the creature by a mile. He was exposed on this hill, he had a broken leg, there was not much else that could get worse. He had too get closer to this beast, he would have an increased chance of hitting the creature. He slowly made his way down the hill in a sliding motion before reaching the bottom. As soon as he reached the bottom, the creature lurched forward once more, clamping it's jaws down onto Cor's broken leg. The heat of the creature's mouth was not surprinsingly brutal. It felt as if someone had fired several shots with a slugthrower and jammed the barrel up against Cor's bare skin. He screamed in agony, firing a shot at it's head as it slightly lifted him into the air. The creature only managed to lift Cor up a few inches before Cor quickly reloaded with his spare ammo which was located in his hunting pouch on his hip. He fired another bolt, striking the creature right between the eyes. It released Cor, disappearing into the lava once again. He still screamed in agony as the pain increased in his leg. He crawled backwards, gritting his teeth in agony.

The creature reappeared in a few seconds, letting out a roar. He crawled backwards, too injured to fire and have a clear shot. The world started to go black as he felt as if he would fall unconcious. He refused this to happen, forcing himself to stay awake by bashing the stock of his weapon off of his broken leg. He screamed in agony but remained concious, able to fire. He crawled backwards, only managing to make it top the very bottom of the hill. He should've brought the thermal detonators, he didn't care about the hunt anymore, he cared about his life. "DIE YOU MOTHERFETHER!" He shouted, taking aim, once more. The creature moved closer, forcing Cor to fire once more. More of it's scales on it's skull broke off, but there was still too much. He would have to keep firing until there was plenty of exposed flesh.

He began to reload when the creature roared, heading forward, once again bringing it's powerful jaws down onto Cor's leg. He screamed again as he felt an increase in heat. This creature was ready to blast lava onto Cor's broken leg. "GET OFF ME, YOU FETHING FILTHY SERPENT!" He managed to gasp, breaking the butt of his gun flying into the exposed flesh of the creature. It released Cor, releasing him but no after firing more armor. Some of the lava splattered onto Cor's armor, which forced him to remove it. He quickly dropped the armor, allowing him to move more freely. He took aim once more, firing, as he was unable to move and had no other choices. The bolt hit the creature once more, barely damaging the scales on it's forehead.

After the bolt connected with the serpant's head once more, it jerked it's head back, roaring loudly. He reached into his hunting pouch, feeling around. He sighed when he discovered he only had two more power cells for his blaster. He quickly loaded a shot in, barely able to lift his hunting rifle. He took the best position he could possibly take at that moment, closing his right eye, looking down the sight. He quickly pulled back the trigger, the weapon kicking up against his shoulder in brutal recoil. Once again, the scales on it's skull flew off, either landing on the hill or the in the lava. The creature once again, fell into the lava, the pain in his leg only slightly decreasing. He then reached into his hunting pouch once more, removing the cell and loading it into the weapon.

The creature lurched out of the lava, once more, releasing a new, rather high-pitched roar. It leant forward and that is when everything seemed to play in slow motion. He slowly raised the rifle, fear and agony on his face as the creature flew towards him. He looked down the sight, steadying the shot, aimed directly at the brutal beast. He rested his rugged index finger on the trigger of the rifle, pointing the weapon at the exposed flesh. That is when it happended, the creature opened it's intimidating jaws, when Cor squeezed the trigger. The creature's roar ended, it's jaws closed. The creature hit the hill, obviously deceased. He started chuckling, a chuckle of relief. He couldn't stop, this thing was fething dead! Who killed it, Cor Latch did! His adreniline increased greatly as he watched it's lifeless body, lying on the hill.

He slowly pulled himself up, using his rifle to assist him. He followed his old path, it was a painful path, yes, but it was worth it. He finally arrived back to his ship, climbing inside and sighing. He gripped the lever at the airlock, pulling it down, sealing it. He headed back to the cockpit, collapsing into his comftorble seat, starting the engines of the ship. He lifted the ship into the air, heading back towards the corpse. He brought the ship down, landing directly in front of the corpse. He slowly made his way over to the airlock, opening it. He grabbed the chain, which was partially bolted into the ship, heading down to the corpse. He fell to his knees when he reached it's body, resting the chain around the creature's large jaws. He locked it, slowly limping back to his ship. He then slammed his fist into the button on the ship, slowly bringing the chain in. It would be impossible to fit the thing inside, but it would be fine outside. He slowly headed back to the cockpit, taking off with the corpse.
