- Wielding this weapon clear's the user's mind of distractions, even during tense combat. (Wookie)
- Disruptor: A single bolt from this weapon can vaporize armor and combatant alike.
- Clarity: Utilizing a Kasha crystal as the weapon's "gain medium" grants a modest boon to mental focus.
- Light: Based around the "archaic" design philosophy of the AY-214 Combat Pistol, the 55A-Allfate possesses significantly less stopping power than the average, modern blaster. In particular, an armored opponent would require three bursts to kill (armor, underlay, body); as opposed to the one-shot, one-kill of a typical Disruptor.
- Neutral: Entering into a Force-Neutral zone, such as a Ysalamir bubble or Voidstone field, will suspend the weapon's mental boon.
- Range: Compared to even average Disruptor or Blaster rifles, the 55A has a vastly shorter effective and optimal range. Thus, the wielder must engage opponents from much closer up.
- Finite: The 55A lacks any pronounced durability. It is reliable enough to not jam, yet complete submersion in water or mud will affect functionality. Furthermore, it can be cut apart by lightsabers, blown apart by ordnance, or shot apart by other firearms.
The 55A-Allfate is the culmination of a man's vision.
Decades ago, the AY-214 Combat Pistol entered into production - despite the skepticism of numerous, internal designers. There was always a lingering question of value when it came to the product: how could a weapon with less stopping power survive on the Galactic Market? Was the removal of reliance upon gas cartridges truly enough to warrant picking one up over an E-11? At a glance, and judging by sales figures, the answer was a resounding no. However, this did not deter the man with the vision.
What he desired was to build upon the foundation of the AY-214 - and he did so with a prototype: Holding Aces. What this simple, elegant gift to an apprentice proved was that his vision was onto something. What this proved was that alchemy could be incorporated into conventional firearms. What this proved...was that the Allfate deserved to exist. With this proof in hand did Darth Metus guide his design teams in the production of a limited line of Disruptor rifles; under the "new" classification Light. These each followed the same anatomy as the AY-214, requiring only power cells as ammunition and a crystal, gain medium in order to function. The end result was identical to the Holding Aces in terms of function: a Disruptor which fired bursts capable of vaporizing a limited surface area.
Then, Darth Metus looked to the gain medium itself. By removing the base, synthetic crystal and incorporating Kasha, he was able to provide a competitive edge to the soldiers who would eventually own these weapons. Simply holding the firearm grants a boon to one's mental awareness and clarity, allowing them to focus better under the pressures of the battlefield. Between this and the capacity to defeat enemies, three-bursts at a time, the 55A-Allfate proves itself wholly reliable. It is a close-to-medium range weapon that excels in its specified task; nothing more, nothing less.
