Hypermatter-eating critters

The Keres I dominion hinted at hypermatter-eating critters that, after overindulging in hypermatter, can block an Acclamator's bridge turbolift shaft, roughly 3x3m in cross-section. That would amount to at least 5-6 meters long as the upper limit for how big a panokseon can be. And strong enough to hold an empty turbolift cage on its back. (Let's call it a panokseon for the time being; I'll probably sub it under that name).

I want the panokseon to be a Force-dead, semi-sentient species. How many dev posts are required for a species being subbed to be Force-dead? And do Force-dead beings remain Force-dead when they physically die?

Any new Force-Dead creatures to come through the Codex will see very heavy regulation and require an extremely good intent to be approved other than "because it's cool."

Something of this nature will likely need anywhere between 50-100 posts of solid, quality dev, depending upon the race's other inherent strengths. The development in question will need to explore these attributes and qualities in detail and create, ICly, a good reason for its existence.

If I did away with the panokseon being Force-dead, and just wanted an hypermatter-eating creature that can become large enough to be capable of blocking turbolift shafts after eating hypermatter, how would that affect the requirements for the # of dev posts required?
