I'm literally just trying to create a gif that changes between these two images but every time i do the face becomes super blurry no matter what settings i use. I've been at this for hours and still nothing. I will like die for you or smth dramatic if you can make it work without the face being blurry or tell me wtf im doing wrong

done in photoshop 2020. i've fiddled with just about every setting in the export process and even redone all the canvass settings in various size and quality but it always turns out like this. idk why the second image is fine but the first isn't.

Here's my best shot.

There is some loss of detail in the face from compressing the file to try and reduce the file size. Even with scaling down the dimensions to 400 x 400, its still over 2mb at the moment though.
