I Never Left [Kida Ravos]

Laekia
Sanctum Space

Throughout his years of travelling the galaxy, one name had been on his lips more often than any other; Kida Ravos. They were inseparable throughout their youth, and had known eachother since they were little children. When he'd left the Jedi Order with Asha, he thought he'd never see her again. Then, she surprised him by meeting him on Teth, having arrived with Jaxton about the same time. She made the time without Asha tolerable, and she helped filling the void that Asha left, gaping and seemingly unending. Ever since his master's death, Thurion had been merciless with himself in terms of training so as to give her as little thought as possible. That said, he'd always have time for his Kitty, and as they both slowly grew into young adults, his feelings for her only intensified. Some might say the loss of Asha had made the boy become more attuned to the Dark Side, and that it was the cause of his feelings for Kida. It would have been a lie to assume such, for Thurion had never been in danger of falling. Asha trained him too well for that to ever happen.

At first, Thurion returned to Teth - the lush jungle planet he'd follow Asha to and where the Silent Conclave was first formed many years ago. Upon his arrival, he was suprised to learn that the temple was deserted and no traces could be found of Jaxton and the others. Browsing the holonet, he managed to find that the Conclave had relocated - now taken on the form of something larger, more official to the rest of the galaxy. The Levantine Sanctum, they called it, and they were situated on Laekia. Granted, Thurion had never heard of such a planet, but fortunately the coordinates were available and so he was able to make the jump through hyperspace. Nina was more than happy to finally be able to get off the ship and sleep on solid ground for the first time since having met Thurion, and he couldn't argue with her; he was never really fond of space travel in general, although he was well-aware of the benefits of piloting his own ship rather than rely on others to take him where he was needed. It gave him a sense of freedom he'd never imagine before, and his pilgrimage through the galaxy had left him a wiser and more experienced man with a few more scars than he had when he first embarked.

Once on the ground, Thurion and Nina both left the ship, with her sitting atop his shoulders. She was tired, like 4-year-olds so often get from travelling long distances, and so he'd fallen asleep up there, her face nuzzling into his hair like a pillow as they walked. Nobody was there to greet the two, save for the occasional space port official and technician having prepared for their arrival. Stepping outside, Thurion and his little girl resting atop his shoulders found themselves in a paradise; there were forests and lakes, intermixed with the stray buildings or residential houses, creating a seemingly perfect blend of nature versus civilisation. Various species of birds were flying in unison across the sky, and there were plants he'd never witnessed before in his travels. Jaxton had managed to find the perfect spot to call home, it seemed.

Seeing how the little one had yet to wake up, he decided to take a detour via one of the narrow paths through the forest, walking at a sauntering pace amongst the trees. Thurion relished the sounds of nature - of beasts and leaves alike - and so he found himself at peace with his surroundings. It was nice and warm outside, with the sun shining like a jewel in the sky. The air was clean and fresh to the senses along with the occasional gentle breeze. He knew they were not alone, however. Another presence was stalking the woods, and had been followed them since the moment they set foot inside the forest. Thurion was not worried, though, as he could sense the presence and knew already what, or rather who it was that had come to greet them.

"Who is that?" came a sudden voice, seeming as if it were all around the pair. Kida Ravos stared at the little girl atop the shoulders of Thurion and could not help but feel a twinge of... Sadness. Her cheeks were flushed, of course he could not see that - she had yet to show her face. As adorable as the child looked, Kida feared the worst. That Thurion had gone out into the Galaxy and found someone else. Someone other than the girl he had grown up with, the child he had helped teach to speak, to walk... She felt a pressure at her chest, was this jealousy?

She refused to step from the treeline, yet the fact she spoke was a good sign - she had not taken to her beast form. Not yet, at least. "Is she... Is she yours?" Came the timid voice, still holding its feral tone all the same. Kida did not know why but it hurt to see the child. She was beautiful, which meant... Was her Mother as beautiful? Never had Kida felt this way. She had longed for his return, waited to see him again, for years. And he came bearing another's child.

His heart soared as he heard a voice speak to him, as if the trees themselves had come to life to address him. The whispering winds ruffled the leaves high above him and Nina atop his shoulders, still sleeping blissfully. Thurion understood how the situation must look to the unaware Kida, of how he'd rescued the little Vi'dreya from her home on Umbara and taken her in as his own daughter. Looking around him where he stood in hopes of their eyes meeting again after all this time, Thurion replied. "No, she isn't." He spun around softly so as to not wake the girl up, and then proceeded to pierce the vegetation with his eyes, staring down the exact position of his beloved, even though he did not in fact see her. "She's ours, Kitty..." he spoke in a soft tone, much like the one he'd always use with Kida ever since meeting his little Kitty for the first time.

"Ours..." The voice repeated, before a timid looking Kida stepped from the shadows of the trees. "Ours?" she asked, looking between Thurion and the tiny girl upon his shoulders. Her eyes narrowed, before a memory flashed into her mind. "She's her blood, isn't she?" Kida had not forgotten the child Thurion had befriended back with the Jedi, the girl who looked as crisp as unbroken snow. And in that heartbeat she knew the truth of it. Thurion had not betrayed her, after all.

The wild child stepped over to Thurion and, without warning, wrapped her arms around his waist. Her face buried into his chest, breathing in his scent. He smelt like Furry, and it caused her breathing to hitch for just a moment. "Furry... Furry I've missed you" she breathed, nuzzling her face into his chest. "Oh, I've missed you so much."

Kida's actions broke all form of composure the Knight retained, and as soon as she'd put her arms around his waist he immidiately wrapped his arms around her, with one hand caressing the back of her head. His face buried itself in her hair, inhaling her earthly scent. It had been five years since they last saw or heard about eachother, let alone embraced eachother. His grip of her tightened as he verged on breaking down right there and then, but his thoughts were of how Nina would react should she wake up at that moment. For her sake, he managed to withhold any tears. "I've missed you too, my Kitty. Each and every day I thought of you; every moment I could hear you urging me to be and do the best I could." Their body-heat spread between the two, creating a perfect blend as they connected from top to toe. Kissing her hair before placing a hand beneath her chin, he tilted her face to look up at him, her emerald eyes meeting his sapphire ones. His hand then settled against her soft cheek as he stared longingly into her eyes. "Your speech has improved while I was away", he said as the same boyish smile from his youth appeared on his face, just before letting their foreheads meet.

How could Kida have ever doubted him? The child upon his shoulders was soundly asleep and as she leant back from Thurion a tender frown appeared upon her lips. "She will... Hurt... If she's sleeping like that for too long..." the girl said, worrying for the comfort of the girl. Reaching up she was about to take the little one into her arms - but she halted. Her eyes travelled to Thurion, waiting for permission to remove her from his shoulders. "I... I won't hurt her, or wake her" she assured him, biting her lower lip in worry; what if he did not trust her with the child?

"I know you won't, Kida." He assisted her in raising the little girl over his head and set her down very gently in Kida's arms. Taking a step back from the two, Thurion gazed longingly at his beloved carrying Nina. The sunlight struck them, encompassing them with warmth and light. Thurion did not blink or look away, for he feared that this perfect image of everything he held dear would somehow vanish if he did. Nina nestled into her bosom, and in her sleep she clutched Kida's thumb with her tiny fingers. "Her name is Nina. Nina Vi'dreya..." he uttered softly as he stepped closer to them, putting an arm around his Kitty while giving her a kiss on the forehead. When pulling away from the kiss, he whispered gently: "I love you, Kitty. With all my heart."

The young woman slowly took the child away from her beloved Furry and held her close. The weight was lighter than expected, more than bearable, and she could not help but smile softly in thought. "She's beautiful" the girl breathed, looking up at Thurion. The smile was one which could not be faked, it was genuine, caring and amazed. She was in awe of what was happening. "Nina... Then she is the white-haired girl's sister?" Chewing on her lower lip again she glanced down to the tiny Umbaran. "I love you too, Thurion" - oh how good it felt to be talking to him again, after so long.

Keeping an arm around Kida's shoulders, Thurion gestured for them to walk down the lonely path through the calm woods. As they moved along the path, his hand slipped down to hers, gently squeezing it while their fingers intertwined. "How have you been, Kitty? When did you learn how to talk and walk? It looks like you've been doing it all your life", he said while smiling with his hair glimmering in the sunlight. The last time he saw her she had barely gotten used to walking on two legs, let alone talk. It seemed Jaxton had been busy tutoring her. Thurion then watched the tiny girl nestled into Kida's chest, supported by her one arm. The poor child hardly weighed a thing, despite his best efforts to keep her fed.

She stared across at him for a moment, with a tender frown of thought. The child in her arms murmured restlessly and so she held her close and kept her comforted. "Shh, sweet one" she whispered, while contemplating the question posed by her beloved Furry. "I have been well, Jaxton was det..." she stopped, struggling with the word. "He was dead-set on teaching me, and after you left... Well I spent all my time with him" she confessed, refusing to tell him how difficult it had been. "How was the Galaxy?"

Scratching his beard, Furry had to think for a moment how to describe all the things he'd seen. "It was... astonishing. It was terrifying, yet there was also beauty. Whichever world I traveled to, I could sense the misery and hardships of its people, but also the joys and good things in life. Each world was different, yet they remained the same in some regard. It's just how Asha once described it to me from when we were little; everyone in the galaxy is connected through the Force, in some fashion, and I could feel it, Kitty." He paused, raising her hand to his lips. "But above all, Kida... it was a lonely place. Despite all the good people I met during my travels, I felt lonely at heart. Because you weren't there with me." His feet halted themselves and in doing so urged hers to do the same. Looking deep into the emerald eyes of his beloved, his face turned into a slight frown. "I'm sorry, baba. I'm so sorry I left you here alone. I regretted every moment of it, even though I desperately tried to hide it from little Nina. Nothing of this is her fault, and neither is it yours. I made the decision to leave Teth - to leave you. Please, Kitty... forgive me."

She frowned ever so slightly, settling her gaze up at him as he told his story and they walked side by side. The tiny girl in her arms slept softly, her hands grasping at Kida's tunic. It made her smile for a moment, until she was halted in place by Thurion. "What is it?" she asked softly when he stared down at her.

His words had her shaking he head, "There is nothing to be sorry about, Furry!" she insisted, running her hand over the tiny girl in her arm's hair. "We both had time to... Grow, and learn." And it was clear that Kida had learnt at least something in his absence due to her focus.

Again he was taken aback at the perfectly framed picturesque vision before him; his two most cherised loved ones in the entirety of his existence in the same place was enough to make his heart sing and bring the smile back to his face, if only briefly. "I'm afraid, Kitty. I'm afraid I'll lose you - both of you - at some point. I don't know what I'd do if I did. The two of you are all I've got left. Were I to lose you, I..."

The palm of his hand settled against Nina's soft forehead, gently caressing it as he leaned in to place a kiss at the tip of her tiny nose. As he arose from the kiss, his face was brought inches away from Kida's, and their eyes met yet again. His free hand settled against [member="Kida Ravos"]' cheek, making his senses tingle at the touch of her skin after so long spent apart. "I love you, Kitty. More than life itself."

With that he only had to lean in a mere inch closer to place his lips upon hers.
