Tatooine, a jewl of the underworld, or so it was called in story books. Katarine had not ever actually been to the planet before. She wasn't even allowed out of her house for most of her life. She couldn't remember all of her life but the fragments she could remember told her that she ran away and did not need to go back. How she had ended up in the sandbox... well that was anybodies guess. It seemed like a good place to be though, or at least it was the only place she had ever actually been.

She remembered waking up in the back of a ship and being yelled at for stowing away. Luckily there wasn't a huge police precense on this world, or what there was could be easily outran. There was a lot more technology in the galaxy than her home planet had so she was still getting used to that as well. She was a stranger in an even stranger world and she needed to adapt fast or she would end up right back home, which was the last thing she wanted to happen.

Unfortunately her family wanted that to happen very much. There was a bounty on the girls head but not a typical one. Instead of a listed price the file read "negotiable if conditions are met." To many this automatically meant someone with a big pocket book who wanted things done a certain way. To others it meant trouble and they avoided it. The demands were simple enough. They explained she was missing from home and that no harm was to come to her, even hinted that she might be royalty and thus vitally important to the people looking for her. Of course Kat knew none of this. She was too busy figuring out how she was going to eat that day. You didn't exactly think about things like that when you ran away from an abusive home, but once you were outside and hungry food was the only thing you could think about.

The jacket she had on was not hers. She had found it aboard the ship she stashed away in. That meant the credits in the pockets were not hers either and she was currently putting herself through an ethical delima on if she should use them or not. She was sitting inside a small cantina , staring at the credits and trying to decide if she was hungry enough to steal for the first time in her life.

Night on Tatooine was, surprisingly enough, a counterpart to the typical heat the planet was known for in the middle of the day. It got very cold at night on the wide open ball of dust, which was something that Auro preferred. He hated being hot and uncomfortable, and so he often walked around in a long sleeve shirt, leather jacket and flight pants that he wore under his armor when he was on the job. Today was a personal day, though, and he wasn't all too interested in working... at first.

"What do you mean there's a princess running around town?", Auro asked a bulky, old, dimwitted Besalisk in a dank little cantina on the sand covered rock known as Tatooine. "I mean dess a gul a littel out of pless, Audo. Shessa runaweh, unt werd ess dat Momma un Dadda gonna pay goot for dees guls safe returnen.", said Zac, the gelatinous Besalik bartender who'd taken a moment to speak with the man who he worked for on the side as an informant.

Auro received the information eagerly, glancing down at a datapad that he produced from beneath his jacket. It only took him a few moments to key in necessary bits of information to bring up the profile of Katarine Ryiah, which he thumbed through with interest as he thought for a few moments. He eyed her carefully, noting her flawless, cosmetic appeal as he painted a mental picture of her that he wouldn't soon forget. "She's cute.", was Auro's first response to Zac, who hovered over the table watching Auro to see if he approved of the information shared. His face bore a smile as he watched Auro reach again under his jacket and pull out a hand full of credits, which he eyes with excitement as the man dropped them on the table in front of him. His smile quickly vanished, however, when Auro's not quite as large, but very powerful hand came down on top of Zac's.

"Thanks for the tip, Zac, but if I come across a Mandalorian again who just so happens to be hunting this girl down with the same information you've given me then I'm coming right back here to put these credits in a deep, dark, VERY uncomfortable place.", he said, as serious a look on his face as he could muster as he pushed himself up out of his booth and headed for the door.

In the end hungry won and Katarine sat alone at a little table picking at a dish of what would have been called eggs on her home planet. She had no idea if it was similar to that dish. It tasted different, a lot different with the spices the cook used. She felt extreemely guilty for using the money, but she couldn't help but smile at the fact that she had ordered a meal in a resturant for the first time in her life. Her family hadn't ever taken her anywhere with them and at home they were served by half starved Cathar servants who made whatever dish her mother requested. Katarine had never been able to pick what she wanted to eat, in fact she was usually lucky if she got to eat before someone at the table exploded on her.

This was not the only thing new on this world. At home on Aviprine it was a forbidden experience to touch Katarine or generally look at her too much. Here however when Katarine looked at people they did not quickly look away or pretend she was invisible. In fact a few people in the corner were outright staring at her. This would have made most people nervous but to a girl who was lonely and starving for anybody to pay attention to her Katarine was having the time of her life. She smiled at the people staring, she smiled at the people giving her dirty looks, she even smiled at the people who could care less and only glanced her way out of habit when someone new walked in the door. It was nice just to have people notice she existed for once.

The only thing to take her interest off the bizzare people were the gadgets that seemed to exist everywhere she looked. Her planet was extreemely low tech. It kept to itself and actually wrote an entire religion about the dangers of mixing with others in the galaxy. This meant there was not a lot of things coming onto Aviprine from the rest of the galaxy. Here however there was technology from everywhere! Katarine had accidently bumped the table and it lit up beneath her fingers. Her eyes widdened and she kept pushing things, completely unaware she was gambling away money she did not have.

A name, a face and the location of a Cantina not so different from the rundown shack he'd just left. It was all he had, though more than he needed to track down a bounty on an Underworld infested planet like that. He was good at his job, and it sure beat smuggling illegal and black market goods from planet to planet which had been his prior shtick. At least as a bounty hunter he was often times functioning within the parameters of the law. It was only when he got a contract for assassination that he tip toed outside the lines, which was lucky for this Katarina Ryiah. She was wanted alive.

Pushing open the doors to the Cantina, Auro strode in with the typical look of confidence on his face. As he did he got a few sideways glances from those who'd known him, though he didn't frequent the establishment. He'd become a rather popular figure to informants and infochants who made a little money on the side recommending bounty hunters or assassin's for jobs in town. People like that didn't get too excited when they came across those they whispered of in quiet conversations, and for good reason.

Making his way across the bar, Auro plopped down in a booth that was seated back to back with Katarine, his games already beginning to unfold as he snatched up a menu and looked it over. He was sure she'd noticed him when he walked in, and from what he could tell, she was about as blindingly innocent as she was beautiful, which would make for an easy catch. For now, though, Auro simply placed an order for a dark beer and waited, seeing what the young woman would do or say before making a move.

Katarine glanced up when the doors opened, just as everyone else did. A man strutted in and took a seat behind her. She watched him walk by, distracted for a moment, until the screen at her fingertips started beeping at her. She glanced down at it and frowned. Why was it doing that? She tapped a few of the buttons but it only blared louder at her. "Stop... quiet... please stop beeping!" She was frustrated and felt her face blush, aware that now several people were looking at her. This was a new sensation to the girl. On Aviprine nobody looked at her so she never had much reason to feel embarassed. Of course she felt embarassed sometimes with her twin but the older they got the less time he wanted to spend with her. Now however several eyes were upon her and she felt stupid. If only they had technology like this on her home planet!

"SHHHH!" She whispered to the device, trying a whole new set of buttons.

"Ya have to turn the volume off las." A large man, thick around the middle, had gotten up and walked over to her.

Katarine looked up at him and felt herself flinch. She hadn't expected him to be so close. Nobody ever stood so close. "Umm the volume? How do I do that?"

"Oye it's simple. Let me just.... holy frak woman! Do you know you are up about three hundred thousand creds?!?"

"What? I am? How can you tell?" She glanced back down at the screen with a frown. She had thought that number was a score of some kind. Unfortunately while her eyes were keen to now pick up on the small monitary symbol next to the score, she was not as keen at noticing the way several patrons in the cantina shifted to look at her. Her helper had just blurted out that she had a lot of money sitting in front of her, and obviously no idea what she was doing. Not really a good combination in a bar full of scum and villany...

[member="Auro Sebastian"] ... I am fast like ninja!

The moment Auro heard the dim witted man blurt out something about three hundred thousand creds his interest was piqued. Turning in his booth, Auro picked up his glass of beer and raised it up, taking a sip as he glanced over Katarine's shoulder down at the table which did indeed display an amount just over three hundred thousand. It all made sense, really, that the girl would happen upon more cred than she knew what to do with that she could literally buy her way out of trouble with, but he was perplexed by how daft she seemed to be. She had no idea what she'd done, and she didn't seem astounded by her prize either, which meant that she came from so much wealth, in fact, that she wasn't aware of how to act.

It was amazing how pampered and sheltered people could be, though Auro appreciated being born into such humble conditions none the less. It allowed him to gain a better perspective on the galaxy around him and learn the difference between material value, and things that were absolutely priceless. Things that most people of wealth took for granted. Things that could be overlooked or under appreciated in times like those where money and power clouded the minds of the greedy.

A brother or sister. A father or mother. A best friend or perhaps a lover even. Things that weren't actually things at all. People and the relationships they formed that actually meant something. Not bits of plastic or paper with numbers on them given value only by those who enforced law and applied worth to things that wouldn't have it otherwise. Politicians and Governors making claims to that the material held some form of value. Like a child building the biggest mound of dirt and declaring himself the king because he stood taller than the others. It was a ridiculous thing, but that didn't mean that it was entirely unimportant to a man like Auro either.

"Looks like princess hit the jackpot.", Auro said as he turned in his booth seat and propped his arm up across the backrest, still glancing over Katarine's shoulder. He took a sip of beer before glancing over to Katarine, wondering what she'd do next as he watched her begin to implode from all of the attention that she was absorbing because she didn't quite know how to fly below the radar.

Things were getting out of hand. Several other patrons had stood up to see what was going on. One of them was a rather large woman with an even larger sword. Worse still was the man behind her who had called her princess. Kat narrowed her eyes slightly at him. A stranger to the rest of the galaxies customs, she had no idea if the term was one of clever endermant or indeed if this man knew who she was. Either way it was time to go.

Luck seemed in fast supply since at that moment security guard had walked over. The alien looked brutish and ready for trouble. They must get a lot of that here. Katarine barely had time to glance at the guard however before trouble started. She felt the large man who had pointed out her winnings grab her arm and pull her towards him. Kat was too fast and too used to abuse not to know how to get out of someone's grasp. She had broken free easily and darted for the door. She was about there too when she sensed danger and heard a woman shriek.

She hesitated, clearly wanting to walk through the door she was facing but instead the girl spun around to see the large man holding a blaster, at least one table knocked over and the woman with a sword pointed at another mans neck. He was already bleeding but he had the little flashy game with the money on it in his had.

"Please don't hurt him. "

"Certainly. If he just gives me thise creds nobody has to get hurt!" The woman had a deep voice.

Kat looked at her in stunned disbelief. "Surely a life is worth more than a few credits? Credits are foolishly common and obtainable but life is rare and so easily lost forever. "

"It may be easy for you money bags but my establishment has been going badly. Girls quitting left and right! I can't keep them working very long before they run off with some customer like banthas in heat!"

Kat frowned , not sure what most of that meant but she saw a way out. "If you need women to work for you then I will. I will work until I've made you the money he is holding. "

"Why? What is he to you?"

Kat looked at the man with a sword to his throat. She hadn't ever seen him before today.

"Just a life I would rather not see ended today. Let him have the money. I'll help you with your business. Please let him go. "

"Walk. "

Katarine frowned as the sword was now to her own back. She didn't think that was nessicary but she did as she was told and together she and the talk woman left the bar.

Auro watched the pair of women leave the bar, everyone still frozen solid as he slowly got up, raising his hands as not to make any sudden moves and worsen the situation. He made his way over to the rather large man and with a smile on his face said, "Well that was intense.", he then glanced over at the man still holding a blaster and said. "I think you can put that away now, Chief.", To which the rather large man turned and growled at him saying. "Mind your own...", but before he could get the words out he was silenced by the very man who'd offered him a smile and a smart comment.

In the blink of an eye, Auro snatched the man by the wrist and twisted it back on itself, which threatened to break if the man didn't do as Auro desired for him to. He turned the man's blaster back at himself and grabbed him by the throat, his face no longer warm and carrying that smile that he'd had before. Instead there was a very serious, and unentertained look upon his face.

"I'll take that.", he said, reaching for the device in his hand that he'd nabbed from the young woman, but the man only growled at Auro, and before he could curse or yell at him, Auro rared back and swung an elbow into the man's nose, breaking it and knocking him out cold. The game device flew up into the air as the man's arms flailed when he fell, and before he hit the flat of his back, Auro had snatched the gaming device out of the air and pulled from it the cred chip that was inside and contained all the codes for the credits that the young woman had won. He then dropped the device on the chest of the large man, who was laying there taking in deep, rugged breaths of air that could no longer flow through his nose.

Turning to glance around the bar, Auro slipped the chip into his pocket and said. "Anyone else have something to say?...", and after a few short moments he nodded and said. "Good.", and followed the pair of women out the door, a blaster coming up from a holster tucked away beneath his jacket.

"That's far enough, Lovely.", Auro said, shutting the door behind him with the blaster pointed at the taller woman's head as he stood only a few feet away from the pair.

Katarine was leading the way with the tall woman but they had not taken more than a few steps before the door opened and trouble started again. What was it with this planet?!?

They both spun around to see one of the men from the bar holding a blaster up. The tall woman growled.

"We left the money in the bar. You are wasting your time. "

Katarine was silent for a moment. She had a bad feeling about this and was starting to think she was just as much an omen of trouble here as she was on Aviprine.

Auro reached into his pocket, still holding his blaster pointed at the woman's head as he dug into his pocket and produced a chip that contained the winnings on it. "I've already taken care of that, but this wasn't why I came here.", he said, flicking his thumb across the safety switch which released an audible click. "She is.", he finally said, revealing his purpose, though it didn't likely make much of a difference. If he needed to he could take the woman down all on his own. She was dainty and delicate, and she wouldn't be too terribly hard to catch if he needed to, but he was wondering just what it would be worth to her to stay planet side and not be dragged home by her hair.

Reaching up with his left hand, Auro flicked the chip through the air at the shorter, young woman, who he was certain would raise her hands to catch it. She'd likely be confused by the gesture, but she didn't need to understand it. It only came down to one simple fact. Auro didn't steal.

He'd kill and he'd beat down and dismantle his opponents and his enemies, and from them he'd take trophies of cred, armor, weapons or any other type of valuable, but he didn't steal. He wasn't a thief. He was a Bounty Hunter, and part time assassin if the price was high enough, and though it sounded like some kind of moral dilemma, it was more simple than that. Auro didn't need to steal, and he felt that such a thing was beneath a man who had other ways of making it by. It was as simple as that, and though his hands were plenty dirty, he hadn't taken anything he hadn't earned from the dead or beaten.

"Release the woman or I'll leave you lying on the ground with a scalding hole in your right eye.", he said, a calm and collected look upon his face as if to reiterate that he was not at all making idol threats. "You have five seconds."

"Five..."

"Four..."

Katarine felt her face fall when he mentioned why he was here. She had been afraid of that. She felt a horrible anxiety overwhelm her. She did not want to go home. For one wild second her deep green eyes drifted over the mans neck. She could choke the life out of him and run. She must have seen Daxium do it a billion times...

She blinked, completely startled by her own thoughts. She was not like her family. She wouldn't kill a man doing his job no more than she would let him kill the other woman. He was counting though. He meant business.

"Here, take this and make your business recover." She smiled at the woman who looked stunned. The woman took the chip and backed away, semeingly fearing the man woold shoot her in the back. Kat watched her go then turned back to the man with the gun. She tried to smile but it was very hard. She felt like curling up and sobbing.

"Are we going back to Aviprine?" She asked gloomily, unable to look him in the eye. She hadnt even had one full day on another planet. The only comfort right now was that the trip took a few days and that might be long enough for her to save the mans life. If he really were sent to collect her she saw no way Dax was going to let him live once it was done. It was underhanded and dirty and felt exactly like home.

Of course she was getting ahead of herself. There was always the bright hope that the man intended to rob, kill, or otherwise harm her and had no idea who she really was.

Not quit cheered up by those dark thoughts Katarine waited for an answer.

Auro was none too pleased to see the airheaded young woman just give away a cred chip with over three hundred thousand credits on it, but he was well aware that such willingness meant something. That she, or the people who were requesting her safe return, had wealth, and lots of it. So much, in fact, that the young woman didn't seem bothered in the slightest that she'd just given away a small fortune that a modest man could have very easily retired on. Good thing Auro wasn't a modest man, however, or he might very well have blown a fuse that very moment.

"That depends, I suppose." Auro said, approaching the woman as he slipped his blaster back safely in it's holster against his side before pulling his leather jacket back across it to keep it out of sight. "What's it worth to you to stay right where you are and do you have any way of getting your hands on the no doubt lucrative wealth your family seems to have.?", he asked, flashing his cute, white smile at the woman, which he followed up with a wink before he introduced himself.

"Name's Auro, Auro Sebastian.", he told her as he glanced the woman head to toe as he had only now fully realized the absolute stunning figure that this tiny little thing possessed. It was really quite something, and he didn't feel embarrassed to show his interest in the young woman as he leaned to the side to get a better look at her backside before shifting back upright. "Nice to meet you, and if you play your cards right I might just be your best new best friend."

Katarine snorted at his question. He had a complete misunderstanding of her place in the galaxy. Yes her family had money, but Katarine had no idea if it was a lot compared to the rest of the Galaxy. She wondered where he had gotten his information from? Was her family promising a lot of money for her return?

She was lost in thought about the situation and was only pulled back to the moment when he introduced himself. She glanced up and smiled, then flinched at the look he was giving her. She knew the look. It crossed her twins face more and more the okder they got. But surely this man... Auro? Yes he had said his name was Auro. Surely he wouldn't? He couldn't ... She felt sick to her stomach. What if the whole galaxy was like Aviprine? Only that could not be true. People here talked to her. They didn't seem to live in fear and exile her to a lonley existence on principle. They were way more obsessed with money than any people she had ever seen of course, but at least they didn't pretend she did not exist.

Katarine finally shrugged and pulled her jacket closer around her. It was too big. She had found it on the ship she snuck away on.

"I can get you money but you have to do exactly what I say. The people who hired you have no intention of paying you. They are going to let you drag me back home and then kill you for disobeying their laws. It's cruel but it's what will happen if you don't listen to me."

She was staring him, nothing but honesty in those deep green eyes.

..with nothing but honesty in those deep green eyes.

"We have to go back to Aviprine for me to get it. ". She felt her voice break and cleared her throat. She didn't know what to do now. There were a million reasons he wouldn't believe her. If it was so easy to get money here all you had to do was push buttons then why take her on a trip that would take days? Would he believe her if she told him all her families money was kept in a tomb and looked nothing like the plastic glowing chips everybody fought over here? Maybe he would think she was leading him into a trap? She didn't know how to make him believe her. Maybe he would think this assignment wasn't worth the trouble and he would shoot her and be done with it.

She was half temped to run and gamble he couldn't hit a moving target. Somehow she doubted it. He was a little too sure of himself to not have any talent and a little too good looking to not be used to getting his way with other people. Still if he didn't listen to her she was leading him to death and that was the last thing she wanted. The situation sucked and even worse he was still looking at her in the way that meant her clothes were going to come off and everything was going to hurt again.

The air was starting to get chilly. This planet had two Suns but they were setting and surprisingly it was getting colder. Katarine thought about running again but it was a fools bet. She shivered and put her hands in her pockets. "Take me back to Aviprine and I will get you money. Can we go now? It's cold out here. "

[member="Auro Sebastian"]

Auro watched the young woman with an interested look as she went into her in depth explanation of who had put out the bounty, why he wouldn't collect from the one who'd offered and what they'd have to do if he was going to end up getting any money at all. This all made him that much more cautious of the situation, wondering whether or not he should bother going through the trouble at all, but as she mentioned the cold the concerned look on his face softened as he sighed.

Dammit...

He thought inwardly as he realized that he was about to be the one getting cold. As they walked, he pulled off his leather jacket, still warm from having been wearing it a while, and threw it over her shoulders. He then slid his hands into his pockets so at least those could be warm, considering he was wearing a black wife-beater, which in retrospect hadn't been the best choice of clothing for such a cool evening. That, however, was something he pushed out of his mind. There were more pressing matters at hand, and Auro would much prefer to remain in possession of his mortal life than to take a gamble he might not win. He was a gambler, after all, but he very much enjoyed betting on a sure thing rather than flipping a coin.

"Who put out the bounty?", he asked, quickly following up with another question before she could answer. "Why wouldn't they just pay me and be done with me? Why would they put out the word of a bounty and then try going through the trouble of killing me when I try to collect?", he asked.

"That is not good business..."

Katarine was looking at her feet and thinking about how much trouble she was going to be in when she got home when suddenly she felt his fingertips on her shoulder. She whimpered and jerked her head up in panic. Not here! Surely not outside where other people could see?!? He was taking off his jaket and she felt her stomach swirl again, until he put it the jacket over her shoulder. She blinked at him in confusion.

"I don't want you to get cold either ..." She frowned and wondered what was going on but he started asking questions.

"My family put the bounty on me. It depends on your definition of good business. On Aviprine it is a sin to talk to me and it will cost you your life if you touch me. You have already done both. It's a cruel plan but an ingenious one no doubt designed by my brother Daxium. He know I will sense him coming and run, but I can't suspect everyone. If he lets you bring me in he saves himself a lot of trouble. He has to kill you for what he considers your sins and then he will punish me. If you listen to me though I can just give you money after im punished. He doesn't need to know about you. "

She frowned, concerned he was getting cold. "Can we go back inside the bar? I don't want you to be cold."

She pushed her hair behind her ear and thought about what he said before. Surely his offer of friendship had been fake? It had sounded like the things Dax said like if she took her clothes off without complaining he would take her swimming or if she stopped complaining about the way he treated the servants he would go on a walk with her. These promises were usually just ways to shut her up and she almost always messed them up so she never got the reward. When Auro had said he would be her friend it had sounded like one of those promises. But he had given her a jacket... that was something friends did right?

"Will you really be my friend if I behave? " The whole reason she had ran away was loneliness. She had no friends at home and any she made Dax took away. If she made a friend then miraculosly this day would not be a total loss.

"I'll be fine.", Auro said as he walked beside the woman, the street growing darker as the sun fell behind the tops of buildings in the distance. It was a beautiful thing, though Auro didn't have as much time those days for beautiful things as a young bounty hunter trying to get by. She'd shared with him all too willingly a lot of information that was necessary to a man like him, and she didn't seem like a liar. She was all too innocent for that. Unwittingly innocent, in fact, as if she'd never really experienced anything but the world she knew back on Aviprine. He couldn't be certain, however, because she could have been the most incredibly talented liar he'd ever come across. From what he could tell, however, she was about as good at lying as she was at not attracting attention to herself.

As they walked, Auro couldn't help but think that the situation was a bit awkward, but he'd dealt with awkward situations before and he felt confident that he could change the pace of all of this for the better. "And that depends. What kind of friend are you looking for?", he asked with a smirk on his face as he watched the woman's young face for her reaction. He wasn't entirely sure that she would get his hint, but then again that was part of the fun of it all. He knew she'd have an interesting story to tell at the very least, though, and so he'd decided that he was going to spend a little time worrying about anything else but work that night.

They were walking somewhere, though Katarine wasn't certain where. She could still try to run for it, but that seemed like it would be selfish and mean now that she had his jacket. She didn't really want to go back to Aviprine however, but she also didn't want to be a thief and a mean person.

His reply drove her impending homecoming out of her mind. She smiled at him and shrugged. "Any kind of frined. I've never had a friend before. Or at least not one for very long. My family only talks to me when they are yelling at me or punishing me and they make everyone else on the planet ignore me. " Her face fell slightly as she remembered the boy that used to tend their stables back on Avirpine. Kat had snuck out to see him a few times and they had laughed while he showed her how to brush the horses. He had been a friend, but when her twin had found out the boy had been sent away, or worse. She swallowed hard. Was she dooming Auro to the same fate?

Suddenly she felt selfish. Yet again her own selfishness and need to connect with someone was putting people in danger. Why did she keep letting this happen? She cleared her throat and stared back at her boots, thinking. "We can't really be friends after we get to Aviprine. That won't be safe. We can just be friends until we get there."

She glanced sideways at him. He hadn't objected yet and he didn't seem mean or like he was going to hurt her. Maybe he just made money by taking people who ran away back home. "Do you live on this planet?" She frowned and realized she didn't even know where she is. "What planet is this anyway?"

Auro looked back over to the young woman next to him and shook his head at her. She had absolutely no idea what he was talking about with his little joke about 'friends' and proving more innocent by the second, which felt wrong to take advantage of. "You have no idea what I'm talking about do you?", he asked her, quickly dismissing the question and moving past it as he said, "Nevermind. It was a bad joke."

He then glanced up at the moons that were slowly creeping across the sky above them, chasing the soon that had just set beyond the opposite side of the city. "Coronet city. We're on Corellia.", he said, looking back over to the young woman as he displayed a bit of a smirk before he said. "And I don't think I'm much interested in going to Aviprine any longer. It seems like a ridiculous place, no offense. Your brother can have his money and I'll just keep my life. After all, what's a fortune in cred if you're too dead to spend it?"

Katarine frowned. She hadn't heard him tell a joke at all. She wondered if he thought she was stupid. On this planet shet certainly was. She didn't undersand the way the Galaxy worked.

"Really?" She felt her jaw drop slightly and then she smiled. "I think that's great! You will be a lot safer if you just stay away from Aviprine. "

They kept walking and Katarine realized she was no longer a captive. Perhaps it was rude to keep following this man now? She didn't have anywhere else to go but she was certain he would want to get on with his life.

"What hapoens now?"
