Corporation Name: iBorg Prosthetic Augments
Headquarters: Manaan, Ahto City
Locations: Arkania, Etti IV, Reltooine, Mall'ordian, Balmorra
Operations: Prostheses and cybernetic implants.
Rationale: Selka Ventus took a majority (61%) share in iBorg as an angel investor for a struggling start-up with a good prototype. Her funds come from a history as CEO of Silk Holdings (tier 6), as well as a former shareholder to the tune of 45%, then as a long-term member of the board of directors, followed by a stint as interim CEO of Akure Executive Interstellar (tier 6). Suffice it to say, her checks don't bounce.
Tier: 3
Description: At Tier One, iBorg is a single facility on Manaan, responsible for research and prototyping. A smaller office on Arkania is primarily for rigorously comparing the company's projects with Arkanian research and products. iBorg is small, ambitious, and run day-to-day by the founders, three Selkath brothers who are secretly members of the Order of Shasa. Selka's role is largely advisory and marketing-related, though she has been known to provide samples of exotic technology. Her identity as a Force Master, as a Darksider, and as a Sith has not been revealed as of yet, and the company suffers no inconvenience or stigma as a result.
At Tier Two, iBorg specializes in modular neural implants, with some emphasis on prosthetic limbs. Its main facility on Ahto City is a major employer, and some operations are run through other Selkath laboratories across Manaan. The Arkania R&D/reverse-engineering facility has been upgraded to larger and more capable facilities. iBorg also operates a handful of MC33 Leechar-class Star Yachts (generally outfitted for both cybernetics operations and entertaining clients), as well as several Koensayr H-Wing Search and Rescue Cutters (outfitted for emergency cybernetics operations). Contacts across the galaxy are watching for experimental or exotic cybernetics technology, which iBorg purchases. Though Selka's personal funds are still involved, a Tionese bank loan has been approved at an extremely low rate of interest. iBorg is ramping up production to be able to tackle mass production in a serious way -- at least, as serious as a company with two facilities can be. iBorg has also contracted with Triam Akovin, the infamous miner, explorer, and tech addict: Akovin consults on research and development, primarily stress testing, and has proven worthy of design autonomy. iBorg is improving its business relationship with Santhe/Sienar and angling to improve both companies' neural
interface technology.
At Tier Three, iBorg has acquired Hudrel Robotics as an inroad to Core Worlds markets, and has made significant strides in penetrating the Corporate Sector markets. Primarily for Core Worlds and Corporate Sector shipping and marketing, iBorg has purchased ten Suwantek TL-2000 freighters, as well as ten incredibly underpriced (roughly 5-10% of their market value) Nubian J-type star skiffs. These acquisitions allow iBorg to move large quantities of prosthetics and factory materials while presenting a high-class front for distribution. iBorg has also made a killing by reselling similarly undervalued Nubian S-6 hypergenerators, purchased for the cost of a good blaster rifle but capable of a stable class 0.5-0.7 with the right core attached. This influx of capital (as well as the savings on the skiffs) has offset iBorg's increased transit costs for its Corporate Sector expansion. This expansion hinges on advertising and standard upgrade services at Reltooine (the gateway to the entire sector) and a high-end sales center on Mall'ordian (a major tourist destination that falls immediately after Reltooine on the Perlemian). Real estate has been purchased and partially developed on Etti IV, with an eye to future development. Selka Ventus has purchased 95% of Hudrel Robotics and repurposed most of its manufacturing capabilities for iBorg.
