IC question- Why Did You Join the Commonwealth?

Exactly what it says folks! Tell us, In Character, why you joined CW!

Is your character from Alexandria? Do they believe in the cause? What motivates them to fight for this government and not another?

I was without a place to call home to be honest. With my homeworld in ruins (well the Corellia I knew and loved.), this former CorSec agent needed a faction to put roots down and use her skills. It just so happens my biological father is with the Commonwealth, but that was an afterthought actually not the main reason I joined. :)

I'm attracted to NFU's and men in uniforms. What can I say… Two birds with one stone. ;)

I love to fly. I'm a skilled pilot. The Commonwealth needed pilots. It seemed like a good marriage of needs, wants, and desires. (That was before we got friendly with the FO though. :p)

Born in the commonwealth, but rather fight for money than country so to speak. But as a mercenary, and a Commonwealth citizen, I am obligated to fight for the Commonwealth, for the most part. Will never fight against them. This doesn't mean other people can contract me or my squad.

Staff Sergeant, First Order Stormtrooper Corps
Well, the thing of it is that I never really planned on enlisting, I just didn't have anything else to do. I was born and grew up on Alexandria. I tried different hobbies and dabbled in a couple of different job types, but I always felt like a square peg into a round hole. When I finally finished my education I still didn't know what I wanted to do from there, so I decided to join the Marines. I was stalling, really. Trying to give myself more time to figure out what I really wanted to do. It got me out of the parents house, paid me, and fed me. Not to mention the veteran benefits.

What I didn't count on was falling in love with the military. I fell in love with the life style, the work, the people, and even the danger. I'm good at what I do, and I work with other people who are, for the most part, good at what they do. I had finally found where I slotted in perfectly. So here I am, still with no plan for when I leave the military, but now it's because I couldn't see myself anywhere else.

A young Horus beginning
his naval career.

Despite my heritage I began my life in public schooling at my own request. As a nobleman I was both revered and feared by my fellow students and peers alike. I would begin my career in the navy as a junior officer aboard the No Land Beyond.

My attempts at avoiding meritocracy failed as I was ultimately promoted far faster than my fellow officers. I saw the injustices faced by the common people at the hands of the people who deemed themselves of superior blood. It was not long before I began my conquest of the Kingdom of Alexandria.

While there are many a great decisions I regret, I do not regret my decision to found the Commonwealth. This new nation means more than my life, and I will give my life serving the people.
