After their return from the abandoned Sith Temple within the Cloak of the Sith, Valery had left the flying to Aldric and taken some rest during their flight back to Coruscant. It had been a rough ride, as her system worked hard to flush the chemicals from her body with help from the Force — she had gotten cold, and pale and to someone who couldn't feel her life force, it almost looked like she was dying. It made her wonder just how nerve-wracking the flight back must have been for Aldric, but she had done her best to make it clear she'd be alright. Still, though, they had gotten beaten around and shot too much to just sleep it off.

So even though she really looked forward to bringing him to their home to help him get settled in, their first stop was a medical facility somewhere within the district Valery lived in. It was close to the Temple and frequently assisted Jedi when their own healers were not available at the Temple. Aldric and Valery were separated there as well, which only made the Keshian a little more stubborn and cranky. She wanted him by her side but ultimately understood that he needed some treatment as well.

The Force Lightning had likely burned his skin badly. Luckily, it's something that was healed up easily enough.

"Alright, Master Noble, you're free to leave but please do take your rest," the nurse requested, knowing how difficult Valery could be from reading her file.

"Hmm?" Valery blinked — she had been daydreaming about going home. "Oh right, yeah sure," she said with a tone that didn't satisfy the nurse at all. So right as Valery stepped out of the room and looked for Aldric in the waiting room, the nurse moved passed Valery to intercept Aldric before he'd be able to meet up with Valery.

"Mr. Laurent, yes?" she asked politely before glancing over her shoulder at Valery, who hadn't spotted them yet, "It's good to see that you've recovered but if you can do medical staff here a favor... make sure she gets her rest? She has a history of being... stubborn."

The fight at the Sith Temple had done a number on both Aldric and Valery. But they had gotten out. And succeeded. There was one more criminal organization off the streets, paying for their actions. That worked well enough for Aldric, who had hardly even gotten a chance to realize how much he ached until after they had already left. The adrenaline had kept it in the back of his mind. But now, he was paying for it.

Thankfully, the doctors were able to patch him up quite nicely. By the time they were ready to leave, Aldric could still feel the coolness of bacta on his skin, which soothed the burns he had suffered. Thankfully, the majority of the damage wouldn't be lasting. He could only assume he had a few more scars in his collection now, though.

One of the doctors approached him, making the agent chuckle, "Of course. We'll be taking it easy for a while," He winked, "I'll keep an eye on her." He then walked passed her to see Val, and grinned, "So— Still feel like shit?"

"I was... until I saw you," Valery said with a grin of her own while she stepped in close to him. A cheesy comment? Sure, but she really meant it. Valery then pushed herself up so she could cup his cheeks and pressed a long, fierce kiss against his lips. When she lowered herself, those fiery eyes glanced past him, to the nurse who had talked to him and was heading off.

Her nurse.

"What was she telling you?" she asked with narrowed eyes, knowing that medical staff was always a little weird with her. She did give them a hard time with her stubbornness, as Amani especially knew, but sometimes they just deserved it. How could they expect her to just take a month off to rest and not do anything?

"You're looking better too but I'll have to check out the new scars later though..." she grinned devilishly, her eyes shifting back to him. "You know, just to make sure you healed up properly." Totally, yep. She gave him a big nod and brought her hands down to his waist, those fiery eyes staring off into his emeralds for a long moment now that she really felt safe.

"Today's the big day, huh? How are you feeling about it?"

Aldric clicked his tongue, "Been workin' on that one for a while, haven't you?" He leaned down to meet her part way for a deep kiss, still smiling as she pulled back. Valery was immediately suspicious of her nurse, which made him chuckle, "Nothin'," Aldric said coyly, "Just the usual, I'd wager."

She wasted no time teasing him, to which the agent rolled his eyes, "Uh huh. I'm sure," He snarked. They stood there a few moments longer, before Aldric seemed eager to start going, "Feeling good. I'm ready to get a move on," It was a big step, but one he was ready for. "You?"

"Was it that obvious?" Valery asked with a big grin before they met in a long kiss. It was the first since they had gotten back to safety, so it was one she really needed. It helped ease the mind and gave her an impression of how he felt about what was coming; about his excitement to live together. She definitely didn't hold back any of her own and kept smiling even after they pulled back.

The topic of the nurse got her to look at him a little suspicious though, "Careful you..." She grumbled as her eyes followed the direction of the nurse. "I'll take the rest I need..." She didn't sound super convincing but he was able to tame her stubborness when it came down to it.

Then it was her time to tease and she'd chuckle in response to him, "Mhmmm, just accept it, babe." She grinned and watched him for a moment - he wanted to go, either because he hated hospitals or maybe he was just really excited to go home together. "Eager, huh? I am too", she admitted with rosy cheeks and an affectionous smile.

"I'm a little nervous but...only because I'm so excited. It has been a long time and I look forward to having you close a lot more." She then smirked. "The holo-calling is not enough for me anymore."

She extended her hand and stepped close to him, "I uh, didn't bring any credits but you did, right? Let's grab a taxi then."

"I'll take the rest I need…"

"Which is a lot," Aldric quickly added with a smirk. Valery was stubborn, no doubt about that. Sometimes it worked in her favor, keeping her going in the face of adversity. Other times, it was like this. "I'm sure there's plenty of Jedi paperwork you can do in the meantime." With any luck she wouldn't be out of commission for too long anyway.

"Mhm," Aldric hummed, "We'll have all the time in the world," Her follow up question made him look down and open up his pockets, "Uhh… Yep. Taxi it is."

Before long they were checked out of the hospital and sliding into a taxi speeder. As they ascended into the rest of the aerial traffic, Aldric sighed, "I'm sure Vera will be glad to see you again."

"Paperwork? Seriously?" She gave him an incredulous look and clearly didn't like that idea at all. She had been roughened up, sure, but she felt fine now and wanted to get back to training and working quickly — the things she loved to do. But as she looked into his eyes, she knew there was no arguing this time. So she let out a soft sigh and just nodded, "Fine, I promise I'll take a lot of rest, babe."

She was never going to like it, but she would never lie to him.

The two then made their way out of the hospital and approached the closest taxi point, where they got seated and soon joined the massive traffic stream of Coruscant. Valery took the moment to just relax and shifted over to lean into him a little. She wasn't hiding her desire for close comfort at all, "I think Vera is still at the Temple for her classes, but she'll be home soon too. She knows we'll be back, though, so I'm sure she'll be excited," she looked up into his eyes, "Not just because of me. She'll be happy to see you again as well."

Her hand trailed over his chest, "She has been talking about you a lot recently. Sees you in her visions and dreams, and well, it's why I thought this was the right time to move in together." She then paused and blinked, "Which reminds me... do you have a lot of stuff we need to get moved over?"

"Can't keep being the perfect Jedi if you don't let yourself recover," Aldric hummed, and nodded when she confirmed some effort on her part to take things easy. At least for a little bit.

In the taxi, Aldric relaxed, letting Valery lean against him. Her talk of Vera made him raise a brow, "Me?" Vera didn't dislike him, obviously. In fact that had gotten along very well. But the possibility of her being genuinely excited about his arrival was a pleasant surprise, "No kidding…" Perhaps it was the right time after all, then.

"Not really. My place was pretty sparse as is, and I got most everything packed up and ready to go. Shouldn't be much trouble,"
He sighed contentedly, looking out the window at the busy skyline, "She been doing well at the Temple? Vera?"

"The perfect Jedi, huh?" She asked with a playful grin to check if he was trying to score some brownie points with her. His compliments technically always did, but she wasn't going to tell him that - it was far too much fun to play around a little.

While she leaned against him for comfort, the conversation then shifted to Vera, and he seemed a little surprised that she had been talking about him so much, and even would be excited about him coming home with her mother. "Mhmmm, you left a good impression," she joked and chuckled. "She doesn't always realize it herself yet but she's very gifted with visions and the less... tangible aspects of the Force. It's how she knew that you make me smile, and why she liked you so quickly."

If you really got to know Aldric, it would be obvious that there was so much to like about him. Vera learned this even before she met him.

Aldric then asked another question about Vera, and Valery just looked at him lovingly for a long moment. Him showing so much interest in Vera made sense if they were going to live together, but it still made her so happy. So before answering, she pulled him into a sudden kiss, long and fierce the way she loved them to be, "She can be a handful for the teachers, but she does really well and takes it very seriously. I'm sure she'll tell you all about it today." Valery smiled and looked out the window.

They were getting close.

Aldric shrugged, "Well you are the Sword. By definition that makes you the best, right?" A smirk. He meant it, but it was also fun to leave some room for joking around.

Just hearing that he'd made a good impression on Vera made Aldric sit a little taller. Earning her approval meant quite a lot to him, and though it wasn't in doubt by this point, knowing that it was so resolute made for an effective boost in confidence, "I'll take it."

There was little time to even stew on it before Valery pulled him into another kiss, which Aldric reciprocated, before pulling away with a chuckle, "I'm looking forward to it," He assured, before spotting his apartment building out the window.

"Here we are. Thank you sir," He said, handing the cabbie his payment before hopping out and leading the way to his flat. "Just gotta get a few things and we can be off once again," He unlocked the door, revealing a barren apartment layout, and a few stacks of boxes. The furniture had either been sold, or left behind as it belonged to the landlord.

Valery chuckled and just smirked in return for the compliment. She'd never actually view herself to be above anybody, but it was still heart-warming to have him say these things. It's something she had missed a lot in her life but Aldric was far more open about how he felt and she loved that about him. It made her feel less awkward whenever she was being a little sappy again.

"I'm glad you're looking forward to it. But..." she paused and looked at him with a nervous smile, "Please tell me if anything ever gets too much or, I don't know... weird? Difficult?" She wasn't quite sure how to put it into words and sighed. "This is more than just living together, and I don't want to overwhelm you with, well, my life."

She had never thought that someone would really want to commit to a relationship with her — single mothers with kids didn't exactly always have it easy on that front. So as exciting as this was, she also feared something could happen that would ruin it all. And she didn't want to be alone again.

The two then arrived at his apartment and paid for their taxi ride. Or well, he did, and Valery just offered a kind smile before she followed him inside. "Oh wow, I didn't think you'd have everything packed up already." She began to walk around to look through what remained just a little bit. From pictures to small items he still needed to pack together. "Never been one to own a lot of stuff, huh? Maybe you're more Jedi-like than I thought~" she teased.

Aldric raised a brow as Valery paused, but then nodded reassuringly, "I will," and smiled, "But I don't think we'll need to worry much about that," He more or less knew what he was signing up for, and was ready for the transition.

From the get-go he had prepared himself for this sort of thing, knowing full well the concerns Valery was now thinking about herself. Jumping into a relationship with a widowed mother came with, for lack of a more positively connotative term, all kinds of baggage. Even without regard to living together. But he was all the way in now. The chances of anything spoiling that now seemed slim to none.

Inside, Aldric looked at Val incredulously, almost as if she had slighted him by doubting, "I told ya I did." He meandered around, collecting what few things remained. A smirk crossed his face, "Don't think I'd make a great Jedi… for a couple reasons," He chuckled, partly referencing his obvious lack of a strong Force connection, "But yeah, never been much of one for the lavish lifestyle. Quaint and cozy works for me. You saw my farm on Azbrian."

Valery smiled in response to his reassurances. Deep down she knew that everything was going to be alright - she had told him what happened when they first reconnected and he accepted it as part of their lives together when he commited to this relationship with her. He was all in to be her loving partner, but he was also going to be a father for Vera. Valery, of course, was all in as well and truly believed nothing could get in their way anymore.

"Thanks babe, this means a lot to me," she told him with loving eyes...but then he picked up on her doubting his packing skills. "Heyyy...I just had to see it myself." She winked and walked through the apartment to help pack the last few things, which were mostly smaller items.

She reached for a picture they had taken during their vacation and smiled warmly, "We should keep this in the bedroom and maybe...we should get a picture taken with the three of us as well." Vera would certainly love it.

She then made her way back over and picked up a heavy box she probably shouldn't be carrying. Either she was being stubborn or she just wasnt't thinking about it. "I do like quaint and cozy, and then non-Jedi side of you, I luv too~" she waggled her eyebrows and didn't explain more. He probaly knew what she meant.

"If you take the rest, we'll be able to unpack before Vera gets home. I already made room for your clothes and all your stuff, so it should be easy." She looked at him with rosy cheeks and a big, bright smile.

It's really happening.

"Mmmhmm," Aldric hummed knowingly.

Valery retrieved one of the pictures they had taken during their vacation, and he smiled looking at it, "Sounds like a plan." There would be time for all sorts of new pictures going forward. With Vera very much included.

Picking up the last few things, he gave Val a skeptical look as she started on one of the heavier boxes, "Careful. There's some breakables in there." She could probably handle it, but after how long he spent carefully setting things inside, he couldn't help but react a bit paranoid.

Aldric grabbed the rest, hosting it up and returning a big smile, "Let's not waste any more time then." Just a little bit of unpacking, and it would be official.

"Don't worry, I won't break anything..." Valery said as she let out a soft sigh. The box really was heavy, but she was determined to bring it to their ride intact now. Aldric then grabbed the rest, which was even heavier, and together they left behind his apartment. He didn't seem like the type who would be attached to an apartment on Coruscant, but it was still the last time he'd be here, and it marked the beginning of something new.

Valery could only wonder what came next and hoped for the best.

"There, nothing broken," Valery said with a smirk, as she set the box down on the special little shuttle they had called in to transport everything to her apartment. She then sat down inside, waited for him to join her, and they were off together.

"Here it is," Valery said after she carefully opened the door of her apartment and looked around. He had been here several times before now, but it felt different today. It was no longer just her home, and once all of his stuff had been moved in, the whole apartment would have changed in some ways. "I'll bring your clothes to the bedroom closet, and you feel free to leave the rest of your stuff wherever you see fit."

"Just be careful not to step on or trip over any of Vera's toys,"
she warned him.

Valery then retreated into the bedroom and spent some time unpacking most of his clothes. She folded them up neatly if they had been messed up in the boxes, and placed them inside the closet. "So..." she began as she searched for him inside. "What else do you think we should do today? Just tell Vera the news and relax or go out somewhere?"

As the door to Valery's apartment opened, Aldric sighed contently. It was a familiar space, and now that his own apartment was gone, he had to mentally remind himself that this was their apartment now.

"Sure," Aldric nodded, not even sure where to begin. Valery quickly added a warning about Vera's toys, and he chuckled, "I wouldn't dare," The agent was suddenly extra vigilant of anything laying on the floor.

As they began unpacking, Val hit him with a question, to which he smiled in thought, "Well… maybe we could leave it up to Vera? See if she wants to celebrate or go out somewhere?"

After dodging some plushies and toys, Aldric would have been able to put away all his stuff and with that done, they were fully settled into their home. It was still quite the thing to think about, but she was already looking forward to falling asleep beside him and waking up together in the morning. Not as a one-time vacation thing, but regularly.

"Vera might try to drag us to the Arcade, then," Valery chuckled. "But she also likes going for walks to the park or maybe she'll want to go get food at her favorite place. We'll keep it simple and fun, and leave big trips for another time, hm?" She still wanted to take him to New Cov sometime, and perhaps even Keshi. Today, though, she felt like something relaxed and simple.

"Speak of the devil..."

From the hallway, they could hear small footsteps rapidly approaching. The door then flung open and was quickly closed again, and the familiar voice echoed through the apartment. "Mommy, I'm hoooome!" she exclaimed before running over to check if he was already here too. When she spotted the two, she ran over and first hugged her mom. "Hey sweetie, how were classes?"

"Fun!" she said but she was more focused on Aldric, who she knew would be living with them now. Vera hopped over towards him and held up her arms expectantly for a hug. She always loved to be picked up and carried, and Valery watched it happen with her heart pounding in her chest.

Aldric chuckled, "I'm sure we'll have a good time regardless," And not a moment later, Valery registered her daughter's arrival. The pitter-patter of rapidly approaching footsteps made Aldric stand a little straighter in anticipation.

Vera appeared, giving Val a hug, but locking her sights onto him. She closed the distance, and Aldric picked her up for a hug, "Heya. How are you?" He asked with a smile. It was good to know that all that talk of her excitement seemed to ring true.

Valery was all smiles when Aldric picked her up and Vera seemed to love it as well. She was grinning and wrapped her little arms around him to return the hug as much as she could. "I'm doing good!" Vera called out. She then looked at her mother for a moment and turned back to Aldric, "Mommy promised pizza tonight."

Hearing that, Valery snorted and held up her hands, "That I did, unless you want to go eat somewhere else? We're both here and free, so it's up to you, sweetie," Valery offered with a smile, but Vera shook her head and seemed content with the idea of ordering pizza and relaxing together. Perhaps the classes had tired her out a little, or maybe she just didn't want to miss her favorite shows on the holo-tv.

Either way, the idea of just being close together at home was definitely not a terrible one either.

"I could order pizza, and maybe you can show Aldric your room?" Valery proposed, her eyes shifting to Aldric as well. "Mhmm! okay!" She looked at Aldric with a grin.

"We also might need your help with something," Valery added. They still had a ship to name. "I wanna help!" She looked at Aldric expectantly and already began pointing in the direction of her room, which wasn't terribly big but full of toys and of course, her plushie collection. But what perhaps stood out most were all the drawings on the wall and floor.

She had been busy.

"Good," Aldric affirmed with a widening smile. He turned to Val at the mention of a previously made promise, "Did she now?" Vera seemed quite content with that decision, and so was he. A night inside could be just as enjoyable together as anything else, "Pizza sounds delicious."

All that was left was to get it ordered, and in the meantime, Vera was rather excited by the idea of showing off her room. Aldric, of course, was all too happy to oblige. He set the girl back down, looking between her and her mother, "Well, lead the way then," He chuckled, giving Val a wink before heading into Vera's room.

It wasn't huge, but it was stuffed to the brim with toys and pictures. Aldric took in the sheer volume of it all with a surprised blink, but was heartwarmed by the passion on display, "Wow. You sure do love to draw, don't you? It's wonderful."
