Idea: Character Death Scene Contest

Well-Known Member
This is just a thought, and even if it should gather some interest I may still end up pulling the plug and backing down from my quite generous offer, but here is the topic of discussion:

Would it be interesting to people if there was a contest to see who can write the most satisfying death scene for one of my more infamous villains, Zambrano the Hutt?

It's been several months now since I've touched him, and I don't think I ever will again. Yet my only regret remains is that I never granted him his well reserved closure to his story. So many loose ends... not enough will to cut them all off.

Technically speaking, this contest would be an excersize in 'ghostwriting', where an author 'hires' another writer to pen something in the author's name and style based on an outline provided by the author. It's done all the time in the real world, and was even how Splinter of the Minds Eye was created before George Lucas was set on making a sequel movie. Now in the contest of course nothing is published so it isn't like I own anything, but which ever post/thread I find most satisfying, will become my characters canon.

Assuming I decide to pull the trigger of course ;)

Does that sound like something interesting? Anything you'd tweak or adjust about it?

[member="Rekali the Hutt"] Oh come on man that's an easy one, make that epic showdown my death! How do you see it playing out? Will your Hutt struggle against the Black Prophet until a moment of miraculous inner strength? Will Zambrano be too weak at this point to truly right and instead throw alchemical horrors your way for you to best.

I dunno! But I can give you ideas :p

Hmm, doesn't look like this seems to be a cool idea. Oh well, swing and miss! Guess I'll just have to dust off Zambrano the Hutt and play him one last time... once I find the time of course...

tbh you're probably the best writer I've had the privilege of RPing with on this site, and I couldn't think of anyone else to write his death scene better than you.

However, if you wanted, Ajihad and Zambrano could have a major duel that finally puts an end to their rivalry. The final blow could even be struck with the Rudis of the Dark Lord, so ZHutt's legacy would be forever engraved across the blade. I imagine it as being sort of like the end of the Deathly Hallows/Harry Potter.

Looks like some Mando mooks are edging into me old playground, looking for muh spucial fuctory.

That is the last known location of the infamous lump of horrors.

I'd have to ask to join but I can't imagine they'd say no. If any of you would like to come along and settle what's what, let me know :)

[member="Orkamaat"], you can randomly appear in the Chillin Rift right? I feel we never did get much interaction.

[member="The Silver Assassin"], I'm highly considering it. That would be one long life etched into that sword of yours... many lives and many faces... and lots of blood and pain. I'm just going to see if I can bind Mishk's soul to mine... he's been meditating on his soul for quite some time now.

[member="Darth Prazutis"], nah DV is already in a final duel with Ashin where she breaks down his Asylum to destroy his blight against the galaxy once and for all... still gotta finish that... :/

Sounds good.

Technically through force walk, you can bind the spirit of one entity to another. Considering bound spirits will still bound to an entity even if they change bodies, I assume the binding is done at the spiritual level. Therefore, if you use force walk, you can bind his spirit to yours :)

Perhaps Z can spend the first few posts binding Mishk. Then Aji comes in at the end, and Z can finally die in some perverted form of peace as he passes on bound to his one true love.

If only Mishk's writer hadn't left ;(

[member="The Gray Assassin"], I'm in a cave in a building within a spaceship built into an astroid :|

I'm not even really joking lol, he's in a cave-ish area of a space-station built into an asteroid. I figure you've been hunting the Hutt long enough, just beware of Mando's in the area ;)

[member="Orkamaat"], I still welcome you to come! I think it would be pretty cool if you appearing sends the message to the Hutt that he's dying today. Perhaps we duel in some capacity while Ajihad finds his way into Z Hutts eventual tomb.

Or is that too much for you?

Only one he respects. He has one of those strange senses of honor at times. If it were some adversary that he had bested easily in a duel, he'd let 'em rot. However, for a rivalry such as this, he'd probably have the body transported to his small private graveyard specifically dedicated to the greatest enemies he has killed.

Just something to think about :)

Sure, I'll drop by as a sinister omen.

Should probably re-title this asZ-Hutts death discussion thread or something. Anyway, I posted again. It was a tough one ot push out but I was eventually able to make a splash

As for my post. so you aren't confused, Z Hutt as actually experienced close to seventy years inside the Bubble of the Lost, even thogh only a couple of years have passed since his last sighting. He went that deeply into the Rift. So essentially he's been trying to ritualistically force walk for decades now in a rabid morbid obsession trying to reunite with his sick dead love-mate Mishk. Now for the purpose of your characters not suddenly aging like 70 times faster than the rest of the galaxy, he's since moved closer to the outer boundaries of the bubble.

Does that make sense? Oh, and for anyone who didn't remember (I didn't and I invented them) the L'ans are the spirits of Zambranos real-world Voodoo-based religion (Zodoun).

What did you guys think of the post anyway?
