The Vyperion Assassin Droid, it was grandfathered in due to being made before the restrictions on Songsteel and I feel the need to edit it to make it have a pic or two and make the history more complex

In general, once tech is approved it stays approved. In this case, the droid was approved prior to requirements for songsteel. Short of you completing remaking the sub, edits don't affect that fact.
The only time an old tech sub would have to worry about edits in that sense is if it's a starship, and even then the average sub prior to the guides (basically anything in 2013) is going to get more powerful than not, as the board eventually settled on a standard.
