The IFW Victory-class Light Star Destroyer is the latest vessel designed on the ancient Victory star destroyer hull. With four proton 8 reactors installed the vessel has tremendous power for its offensive and defensive systems. The IFW Victory-class was extremely well armed for a vessel its size. It was equipped with weapon systems for close to medium range engagements in mind. Designed for frontal and broadside fighting the heavy weapons of the class predominately had a forward 270 degree arc of fire. 12 Heavy turbolaser turrets were positioned on the dorsal hull three to each flank of the command structure and three along the rim of the dorsal hull. Two of the cannons could fire into the aft arch limited the power of the vessel to engage targets behind it with any substantial firepower. While able to engage smaller corvette and frigates effectively the rear fire are was weak against larger vessels such as cruisers and larger. 12 turbolaser turrets were places four to each flank of the command tower and four on the ventral hull amidships near the hanger area. like the heavier turrets these had a limited arc of fire towards the aft of the vessel. Four of these cannons could swivel into a rear facing arc to engage smaller capital vessels. 8 heavy ion turrets were positioned along the forward rim of the hull for engaging and disabling targets. These were aided by smaller light ion cannon turrets which could engage both capital vessels and attack craft. 24 light turbolaser turrets lined the hull giving the vessel a good defense against small capital vessels such as pickets and corvettes and slow attack craft such as gunboats and bombers. 12 hexlaser turrets and 10 CIWS turrets gave the vessel moderate anti-attack craft and anti-projectile capabilities. unlike the larger weapon systems these were positioned to give the vessel full 360 degree coverage.
Defensively the class has a quad reinforced IFW Ferrofaraday Starship Frame reinforced by quadranium bracing. The hull was made of EMNERA Star Ship Armor Plating On top of the under armor a layer of Matrix Armor Plating was laid down to give the vessel formidable protection from energy, heat, radiation, ion and projectile attacks. Four powerful IFW-76x Fortress Shield Projectors , two installed flanking the command tower and two on the ventral hull embedded at the rear of the hanger area, give the vessel very good shielding.
A large hanger area is positioned on the amidships ventral hull. The ceiling of the hanger area has docking ports for smaller craft such as freighters and pockets as well as a host of tractor beams and grappling arms for capturing smaller targets. the forward hanger houses the three attack craft squadrons with construction and repair facilities to keep the wing at full strength. The rear hanger houses the assault wing and support craft. It is also large enough to house up to 4 vessels up to 50 meters. The assault complement consists of a full regiment of assault troopers and their support vehicles. The vehicle hold can carry up to twenty four heavy vehicles or a mix of four smaller vehicles for every heavy one. The vessel only carries two heavy lander craft making deployment of the vehicles slow going. for this reason the vessel has atmospheric operations equipment allowing it to enter the atmosphere providing fire support and deploy forces more rapidly.
